Jolly Roger Bay - Blast to the Stone Pillar

We climb into the cannon and aim for the stone pillar next to the left wall. I overshot the pillar, then undershot it. Mario clung to the stone pillar on the third try, by aiming with about 2 inches of the stone pillar on screen. Mario then pole jumped off the pillar onto a ledge with an item block. We hit the block to get a Star.

Now that we have Mario and the red item blocks unlocked, this will be an incredibly easy mission. There is a red item block on the beach where we land. We hit it to make a Power Flower appear. We touch it and Mario puffs out and starts floating, and a remix of the Wing Cap music plays. We get a message: "With the Power Flower, Mario can float like a balloon. In Standard Mode, press (B) repeatedly to make Mario float up, and crouch to land. Change his direction with the (Control Pad). Try it out!
All we have to do is float to the ledge with the Star instead of aiming with the cannon. At first, we just overshot it because we were too high in the air. The second time, we just undershot it. Timing and speed are important. We undershot it again, but on the fourth try, we landed, but took damage from falling. The Star is on the ledge, so we jump to get it.
