Sea Slide Galaxy - Purple Coins by the Seaside

Welcome to the Galaxy!
Mario
We have no time limit in Sea Slide, so it's exploration time! The Toads tell us that there aren't any Purple Coin in the water, nor the center island, so our lives are a little easier. We get a Bee Suit so we can collect the coins in the air and over the clouds. You'll find coins everywhere else, on tops of trees, the tower, and on Starshrooms. I recommend going in one direction around the planet. The Star appears over the flagpole on the tower, so we'll need the Bee Suit to reach it.
Star Get #111, Galaxy Complete!, 2180 Star Bits, 15 Lives

Luigi
This took me three attempts, as I ran out of flight power at inopportune times and fell off the planet.

Sand Spiral Galaxy - Choosing a Favorite Snack

Welcome to the Galaxy!
Mario
We feed a hungry Luma 1000 Star Bits to access this galaxy. We land in the galaxy on half of an airship, where a remix of the underground theme plays. There is a Magikoopa at the bow, as well as the Sling Star. After firing off some magic, the Magikoopa will disappear and reappear at the entrance to a cave. The Sling Star will take us there. This is what I call the "Weapon of Choice" Star: you can go with this (Bee Shroom) or you can go with that (Boo Shroom). The nearby Toads say each one is tasty. I chose the Boo Shroom because I like the unlimited fly time. (There are honeycombs on the walls if you choose to use the Bee Suit.) We float over instant death quicksand and dodge the lights, but hit a Magikoopa and fell in.
Take 2- I chose the Boo Shroom again. At the end of the cave is a Sling Star that takes us out of the cave to a spinning spiral path circling the large moon. The Star is on the moon. There are space bombs along the path and we can take them out using the Rainbow Stars on the path. I avoid getting the Rainbow Stars because they allow us to move so fast, which I can't handle on such a narrow path (on my first playthrough, there was lots of "falling with style"). Once we reached the brown portion of the path, we long-jumped to the moon, which has it's own gravity, and got the Star.
Star Get #81, Galaxy Complete!, 2457 Star Bits, 8 Lives

Luigi
Once again we feed the hungry Luma 1000 Star Bits and land in the galaxy. We sling down to the entrance to the cave and get the Boo Shroom. We get the 1-up in the cave and sling out. We walk along the spiral path, avoiding Rainbow Stars, but letting one run out when we get one. We long-jump to the moon and get the Star.

Sea Slide Galaxy - The Silver Stars of Sea Slide

Welcome to the Galaxy!
Mario
We have to find the Silver Stars in Sea Slide. Thanks to the Toads, we know that there are no Silver Stars in the water. There are Bee Shrooms throughout the galaxy so we can reach the higher Silver Stars more easily. One of the Silver Stars is on the semicircular rock between where we start and the cannon. Another is floating near the Starshroom. We need to use the cannon and Pull Stars to reach it. We use a Sling Star to reach the main planet. You'll find one at the very top of the largest tree. Past the tree, near Guppy, is a gear to spin. We spin it to make a giant tube of water appear (Mario does some plumbing!) to the mangrove floating in the center of the Sea Slide ring. There is a Silver Star there as well. Take the Launch Star back. The last one is over a palm tree near the tower. The Star appears where you start. This took me two attempts, as we took a lot of damage from the crabs on the mangrove.
Star Get #74, 1 Coin, 2834 Star Bits, 11 Lives

Luigi
We land in the galaxy and get the Bee Suit. The Silver Stars are in the same location. We get the Star in one attempt.

Gold Leaf Galaxy - When It Rains, It Pours

Welcome to the Galaxy!
Mario
There are some new wooden structures and rain clouds in the galaxy. The ? Coin over a cloud gives us a 1-up. We need to cross over the clouds to make progress, so we get a Bee Suit by the Piranha Plants at the top of the swing. We use a bloom to reach the top of a cloud. We must not go under the rain clouds, as we'll lose the Bee Suit to the water. We use the clouds to reach the new wooden platforms, crawling with Mandibugs.
We swing to cloud tops and find a panicking bee, who says, "Oh, nno! What will we do?! A mean mole took over our observation deck!" We swing to the large tower near where we started. There are moving rain clouds here that form, move around the tower, then disappear. Their path is made visible in the damp sand. We have to dodge the rain clouds in the alcoves in the tower. Once we make our way around, we see ledges so we can reach the top of the rain clouds, if our timing is good. Once on the cloud, we have to duck into a higher alcove to dodge the rain cloud above us. We make it to the other side of the tower where a ? Coin makes Star Bits that point us in the right direction. We spring up to another ledge and pound a rock for a vine.
It takes us to the top of the observation deck. There is a Monty Mole in a water blaster. The Major Burrows music plays. There are patches of grass moving over spikes. There's a switch in the back that raises platforms so we can reach the water blaster and pound it three times. The bubbles of water won't hurt you, but will push you backward (unless you run into something or spin) and make you lose your Bee Suit. It can be very difficult to reach the Monty Mole when there's water rapidly firing at you, but the platforms raised by the switch help. On my first take, I died from the spikes. I got him the second time. The tower explodes and the Monty Mole flies away. The Star is in the blaster's place.
Star Get #68, 2683 Star Bits, 12 Lives

Luigi
We get the ? Coin 1-up and the Bee Suit. We take the clouds to the wooden platform and reach the tower. After riding the cloud, we pound the rock and take the vine to the top of the observation deck. The battle starts. We still have the Bee Suit at this point, so we use it to fly over and reach the water blaster and get in two hits. Unfortunately, we lost the suit, so we used the switch's platforms for the third hit.
Star Get #68, 1 Coin, 3051 Star Bits, 47 Lives

Gold Leaf Galaxy - Cataquack to the Skies

Welcome to the Galaxy!
Mario
We use the Cataquack to reach the Sling Star to the other half of the planet. We get the Bee Suit and use another Cataquack to reach the area where Wiggler would be. We go up to the slide nearby with the switch. We move back to the left side of the planet where a Launch Star is. We land on a spherical planet with Wigglers and more Cataquacks. We land in a pool of water, so our Bee Suit is gone. As we can't fly, we need Cataquacks to boost us around. We must get them to follow us, not so closely that they'll throw us up in the air every few seconds, but not so far away that they lose interest and wander off. We need to lead them to wooden panels with Cataquack symbols. If they boost us from here, we'll go where we need to.
The Cataquack will boost us to a planet that resembles the Puzzle Cube. We find a sleeping Cataquack and lead it on the wooden path to the next symbol. A boost will take us to a rectangular prism planet with three Cataquacks. Lead one over to where the Launch Star is so you can get a boost. We land on the planet with the Star, which floats over purple flowers. On the planet are Monty Moles, a Jenga tower, Wigglers, Cataquacks, and a Bee Shroom. We lead a Cataquack to the Bee Shroom so we can reach it. We get a boost up to the tower with the Wigglers so we can reach the purple flowers and the Star.
Star Get #67, 7 Coins, 2595 Star Bits, 11 Lives

Luigi
We get a boost from the Cataquack to the Sling Star and get the Bee Suit. We use Cataquacks to reach the switch and slide down to the Launch Star. We lose the Bee Suit in the water. We lead the Cataquacks to the symbols to reach other planets. On the last planet, we get the Bee Suit with the help of a Cataquack and reach the top of the tower with a boost. We hop and fly over the flowers to reach the Star.
Star Get #67, 5 Coins, 2980 Star Bits, 45 Lives

Gold Leaf Galaxy - Star Bunnies on the Hunt

Welcome to the Galaxy!
Mario
We land in the galaxy, who's main planet is the mirror image of Honeyhive, with an autumn theme. The Honeyhive music plays. If we look to our left, we'll see Star Bits in the shape of an "L". There are several Star Bunnies on the planet looking for Pull Star Chips. There's one over the lower geyser, one high above three stumps, which we can pound for a Sling Star, one between three Piranha Plants at the top of the swing, and one in a crate. We get the Bee Suit and fly to the area where Wiggler would be in Honeyhive and find the last one by a Piranha Plant. Once we have them all, the Pull Stars appear near where we started. The Pull Stars lead us to a Launch Star.
We land on a spherical planet with a yellow-eared Star Bunny, who says, "Think you can catch me, boiyoing?" The Star Bunny music plays as we chase him around. There is a switch that will temporarily raise platforms to block him, making him easier to catch. Once we do, he says, "Boiyoing! You got me! All right then, take this Star! Don't expect to catch me so easily next time!"
Star Get #65, 2 Coins, 2452 Star Bits, 18 Lives

Luigi
We land in the galaxy and get the Pull Star Chips for the Pull Stars. We launched and chased the Star Bunny, eventually catching him as Bee Luigi (we never lost the suit). The Star Bunny gives us the Star.
Star Get #65, 1 Coin, 2878 Star Bits, 44 Lives

Honeyhive Galaxy - Luigi in the Honeyhive Kingdom

Welcome to the Galaxy!
Mario
We get a letter from Mailtoad sent by Luigi. The picture shows him clinging to a tree in the Honeyhive Galaxy. We land in the galaxy and get the Bee Suit. The tree Luigi clings to is up on the same side of the planet as Wiggler. I flew up there, but a bug knocked me off.
Take 2- We fly up to the tree. Even though he sees us, Luigi won't climb down. We can bump into him, or knock him off with a Star Bit. We take a hit from a bug and backflip and spin to knock him off. He says, "Owowowow... Oh, hey bro! I hid because of the big, scary bug! I found a Power Star, so let's go home. Grab that Power Star and let's head back!" He pulls out the Star and we get it.
Star Get #51, 2134 Star Bits, 8 Lives

Luigi
We get Luigi's letter and land in the galaxy. We get the Bee Suit and fly to the tree, knocking Luigi off with a spin. He says, "Owowowow... Oh, hey, me!" He gives the same speech about getting the Star and hiding from the bug. He give us the Star.
Star Get #51, 2 Coins, 2719 Star Bits, 34 Lives

Honeyclimb Galaxy - Scaling the Sticky Wall

Welcome to the Galaxy!
Mario
We land on the side of a planet that is mainly a wall with honeycomb on it. A remix of Super Mario 3 music plays. There is a Bee Shroom nearby, so we become Bee Mario and climb up the walls of honeycomb. We got a ? Coin that makes moving honeycomb appear. We keep climbing, getting ? Coins for coins and Star Bits. At the top, we find the Launch Star and launch to a similar wall. This wall makes us negotiate meteors, which will knock us off. If we take a hit, we will be unable to latch onto the honeycomb, as we'll have lost the Bee Suit. We have to time our flight to avoid them, which is easier said than done. We also have to worry about our Flight Meter, is another way I died. On Take 3, I made it to the Launch Star and launched to the third and final wall, this time crawling with Mandibugs. If we land on the honeycomb in their line of sight, they will charge at us. Some of them spin around, so we have to time our landings. We fly into the Star.
Star Get #50, Galaxy Complete!, 5 Coins, 2100 Star Bits, 16 Lives

Luigi
We go through this level as Luigi, having a bit more difficulty because our Flight Meter kept running out. I got the Star on Take 7.
Star Get #50, Galaxy Complete!, 6 Coins, 2708 Star Bits, 34 Lives

Honeyhive Galaxy - Big Bad Bugaboom

Welcome to the Galaxy!
Mario
When we land, the music is faster paced, and has a new melody in it. The bees are panicking. One informs us, "Augh! The whole Mandibug cland has infested our kingdom!" Mandibugs are all over the planet. Up the slope is an arrow pointing to a water blaster, which bears a resemblance to F.L.U.D.D. It will periodically shoot out water bubbles which can pick us up and transport us to other places. We blast to the other side of the planet and get a Life Shroom. We go through the tunnel, where we find the Queen Bee, who says, "The neighbors are causing trouble again! We would be most grateful for your assistance!" A Launch Star appears over the tree stump and we launch.

We land on a small planet with a Bee Shroom and a bloom. We get the Bee Suit and then use the bloom and fly to a similar planet. We use that bloom to reach a large planet with a large tree. We land and a huge Mandibug appears, Bugaboom. Battle music plays. There are pools of water and blooms on the island, as well as honeycomb the tree. All we have to do is pound Bugaboom three times. We backflipped on to his back and pounded him. His wings unfold and he starts flying, dropping bombs on the way. When he turns, he tilts to the side, so we can't stand on him. We time using the bloom and land on his back and pound again. He turns red and spins. Now, he will tilt to one side even if he's not turning, so landing the last pound is difficult. On my 8th attempt to pound him, it finally connects and he explodes into the Star, which appears over a rock in the water. We fly into the Star.
Star Get #7, 8 Coins, 1025 Star Bits, 7 Lives

Interlude
We have discovered a new galaxy. We get another message: "A hungry Luma has appeared!" It will be outside the Terrace Dome.

Luigi
We use the water blaster and get the Life Shroom. We take damage from a couple of Mandibugs before getting briefed on the situation by the Queen Bee. We launch, get the Bee Suit and fly to the battle planet. I get all three hits in under a minute, perhaps under 30 seconds. This was much easier, possibly due to better timing. We get the Star.
Star Get #7, 5 Coins, 642 Star Bits, 41 Lives
A hungry Luma appears and we have discovered a new galaxy.

Honeyhive Galaxy - Bee Mario/ Luigi Takes Flight

Welcome to the Galaxy!
Mario
As we come in for a landing, we see the starry night sky surrounding the galaxy, but when we land, it's instantly a bright, sunny day. This galaxy is mainly inhabited by bees. It's a grassy planet. Honeyhive music plays. If we look to the right, we'll see Star Bits in the shape of an M. Behind where you start is a 1-up on a small ledge. A bee near the start says, "Welcome to the Honeyhive Kingdom! Our queen rules this land." As we continue up the small slope, we see a fountain with a ? Coin. Collecting it makes a Bee Shroom appear near the Piranha Plant down the slope. We get it and transform into Bee Mario! We get a message: "You transformed into Bee Mario! Hold (A) to buzz around." Holding (A) will allow us to fly briefly. We can also stand on clouds and flowers. We will lose the power if an enemy hits us or we touch water. A bee on a ledge directs our attention to a very large bee in the background, saying, "See that area behind the waterfall? That's our queen's castle!" We fly behind the waterfall and find a hole in a stump. Behind the stump is a 1-up. We go through the hole, as directed by the nearby bee, and slide down. We find lots of coins on spinning purple flowers, as well as patches of honey on the ground. The honey is sticky like mud and will slow us down. At the end of the path is a large patch of honey with a Launch Star. We launch to the next area.

We land on a lily pad on a pond. We have to navigate carefully if we don't want to lose our Bee Suit. There are purple blooms that we can shake to use as vines to gain altitude. There is a 1-up on a flower. We launch to the next area, which starts as a wall with patches of honey called honeycomb. We can stick to the honeycomb to climb up walls. We kill a Piranha Plant to get a vine up to the top of the planet. We see the large bee, who has a crown, a cape, and shoes. She is the Queen Bee, and says, "And who might you be? A physician, we presume? No matter. We are in the most vexing predicament and require assistance. The most furious and itchiness plagues our entire being! It must be stopped! Please find the source at once!" We fly to the Queen and start crawling on her. We notice Launch Star Chips on her body, one of which moves around. She tells us that she's feeling better as we collect Star Chips. After we collect them all, and the Launch Star appears, she says, "'Well done!' My thanks! You have shown much bravery, New Bee. We trust that we may rely on you in the future." The Launch Star appears behind her. We fell in the water before we launched. We launched to the top of a tree on a main planet and find the Toad Brigade!

We find Pink Toad break dancing, spinning on his hand. Blue Toad has glasses, Yellow Toad is asleep, and Green Toad has a pick ax, wondering how they are going to get back. Red Toad has a head light and pack and says (if you're not Bee Mario), "'Hey!' Oh, wow! It's Mario! We escaped from Peach's Castle too! But then we thought Bowser would get us, and then we got lost with Luigi... ...Oh! I just rememberd! We found a Power Star! I'm sure you need this, so here, take it. Take this Power Star!" He pulls out the Star. If we are Bee Mario when we land, he says, "AAAAUGH! A BEE! ...What?! Mario? Hey... it's YOU!" and continues about escaping from the castle. The Toad Brigade music plays when he talks.
Star Get #5, 31 Coins, 670 Star Bits, 15 Lives

Interlude
We land on the main deck of the Observatory. Rosalina says, "'Ah!' Mario... Your name is Mario, isn't it? That is what I heard from your friends who just arrived. Mario... It has such a nice ring. 'Look!' Your friends are waiting for you in the Garage. I think they want to tell you something, so you'd best hurry on over there."

We go to the Garage, where the Lumas are creating something. The Toads are there. Yellow Toad is homesick, Blue Toad hopes that Rosalina isn't a witch, and Green Toad tells us that the Lumas are building a ship for them so they can hunt for Power Stars and find Peach. Pink Toad is carrying a mailbag and says, "Mr. Maaario! Check it out, I'm a mailtoad! And I have a letter for you!" It's from Peach. We hear her say, "Oh1" The letter reads, "Dear Mario, I'm in a faraway palce. But I'm all right because you're coming to rescue me! P.S. I hope this gift will come in handy. From Peach"
Pink Toad continues, "Princess Peach included 5 1-Up Mushrooms in her letter. Would you like them now? Yes /No 'Pretty!' Aw... Even when she's kidnapped, the princess is so thoughtful! Well, come see me next time there's mail delivery." We will get a letter with 5 1-ups everytime we start the game, plus a letter with a 1-up periodically during gameplay. How Peach manages to send us 1-ups and never bothers trying to mail herself is beyond me. Oh well, it's a very nice gift just the same.

Red Toad says that he's the captain of the newly formed Toad Brigade. They will help us get Power Stars.

Luigi
We land in the Honeyhive and get the 1-up on the ledge. We get the ? Coin to make the Bee Shroom appear. We get a message: "You transformed into Bee Luigi! Hold (A) to buzz around. We go into the tunnel and get the 1-up behind the stump over the slide. We take the Launch Star at the end of the honey path and climb the honeycomb to reach the Queen Bee. We collect the Star Chips and launch to meet up with the Toad Brigade. Red Toad says, "AAAUGH! A BEE!...What?! Luigi? Hey... it IS you! We escaped from Peach's Castle too! But then we thought Bowser would get us, and then we got lost with Luigi..." We get the Power Star.
Star Get #5, 16 Coins, 488 Star Bits, 18 Lives
Interesting. They mentioned that they got lost with Luigi.

Interlude
We land on the main deck and Rosalina tells us that our name has a nice ring to it. She directs our attention to the Toad Brigade, hanging out near the Garage. Red Toad says, "Luigi! Somehow we made it, too! We'll help you get the Power Stars and save Princess Peach! You can count on us, Luigi! We're all in this together."
Pink Toad has a letter for us from Peach. It's the same letter addressed to Mario. Pink Toad says, "Huh? It's addressed to Mario. Don't be upset, Luigi. Hang in there!" This time, she included 20 1-ups in her letter, which is very generous. It also raises the question as to why she couldn't mail herself. The 1-ups in this game are pretty big, so theoretically, she could fit.

Honeyhop Galaxy - The Sweetest Silver Stars

Welcome Back to the Galaxy!
This galaxy features the music from Honeybloom. We get the Bee Suit again. I take a hit from a Piranha Plant and get another suit so I can climb the honeycomb. We reach a water area, where there is a green pipe with 3 dice and a 1-up on the lower level. I got a 1-up from one of the dice. I take a hit from a pink Octoomba and use a flower bloom to sling up to a new level. There are balls of water rolling down several slopes. I take a few tries, but finally get up to where the water comes out from a cave. We find some Floaty Fluff and we take it to the next planet, popping 2 balloons in the process. We land and trigger the midgate.
Above one of the flowers is a Life Shroom. We see a Silver Star nearby, between the water jets. There is another one near the water blasters. We lose the Bee Suit to the water jets, which is fine, because when we go around the right side, we find an area to wall-jump up for another Silver Star. We wall-jump up higher for the Comet Medal. We reach the top and find the Queen Bee. She once again has an itch on her back. We don the Bee Suit and climb around to find the source of the itch- a Silver Star! But we're missing one. The last one is on the left side above a man-eating flower. As you might expect, the Star flew to the top of the planet, so we have to go back.
Star Get #40, 23 Comet Medals, 662 Star Bits, 947 Coins, 9 Lives
Interlude
A Comet appears in Supermassive Galaxy. We land in the Engine Room. Lubba says we brought back a striped mushroom, the Bee Shroom. He tells us to have fun with our unusual toy-once again, he's not judging. Lubba tries to appear to be the least judgmental character, but his message comes through loud and clear: we are very strange. I don't disagree with him, but I wonder how we bring stuff back with us.

Honeybloom Galaxy - Bumble Beginnings

Copy that! Detecting anomaly. Grape maneuvers, Mario! - Transmission 9

Welcome Back to the Galaxy!

This galaxy has a jazzier remix of the Honeyhive music. We begin by landing on a flowering vine. As we touch each flower bud, it blooms and releases a Star Bit. This is another 2-D sidescroller. We find the bees from Honeyhive here, and they're looking for a Star for their queen, but they can't find it. Sorry, Queen Bee, that Star's ours! I wall-jumped up to an area with Star Bits. The walls look like ladders, and there is another area with ladders that I just can't reach with the swing. I'll find what's up there later. We continue and find a Bee Mushroom and henshin into Bee Mario. We fly up to the midgate, after which the planet rotates into another 2-D sidescrolling view. I unfortunately wandered too far and fell into a black hole.

Take 2- I take a hit from a green bird with a spike helmet. I get the Comet Medal past the 2nd green bird on a ledge. We take a swing on the vines and land on some springy grapes. I take another hit from a green bird and reach another midgate. There are Fuzzies on the poles we have to climb. We get past them unharmed and take the vines to another midgate. There are green plants with red spikes that try to spear us. The other danger we have to deal with are pink flowers with coins above them. If you stand on them for too long-which isn't much time, they will swallow you and spit you out. My fly meter was empty and I fell into a Black Hole.

Take 3- I'm on my last life, but fortunately get a 100 Star Bit 1-up. I take a hit from a green, spiky plant, beut make it successfully over the Black Holes. I get past the carnivorous flowers to an area with clouds. We fly from the clouds to reach the Star.

Star Get #18, 11 Comet Medals, 106 Star Bits, 553 Coins, 1 Life

Grape night and grape luck! - Transmission 9

Interlude

We get a brown, yellow, and white letter from a honeybee. It's a certificate of commendation for getting the Star in Honeybloom. Our reward for bravery is a 1-up. I also pick up a 1-up from the Starshroom.

Puzzle Plank Galaxy - Bugaboom's Back

Welcome Back to the Galaxy!

We land on a wooden block planet, with country fiddle music playing. There is a ground-pound symbol in the center of the planet. We pound it and send it and us into the next planet. There are a few Wigglers crawling around. We defeat them and pound the red switches on the planet. We get Star Bits, Coins, and Musical Notes that play the Super Mario World music. We collect them all and get 3 1-ups. The last switch releases the Launch Star and we launch to the next planet. There are saws circling the planet, which is only a taste of what's to come. Due to bad timing, I hit one. We find a hungry Luma on the planet who wants 70 Coins. On the underside of the planet, we find a green pipe. where we get more coins from the ? Coin. We get a 1-up for completion of the challenge and have 72 coins at this point. We give the coins to the Luma, who henshins into a new planet. It is a planet with a tall tree in its center. We launch to the midgate and power up with the Cloud Suit. Using our cloud platforms, we reach the tree planet.

Who should appear but Bugaboom? In hindsight, this was a similar setup to when we first battled him in Galaxy. He gave me some trouble the first time around, so let's see if I do better this time with a different powerup. (You get the Bee Suit in Galaxy). Bugaboom is a giant bug, so the way to defeat is to sqaush it. We jump onto its back and ground pound. It shrieks, grows wings, and starts flying around. Here's where the Cloud Suit comes in. You don't want to be on the ground when he flies past because he drops bombs. He will also tilt when he changes directions. We land on his back and get in our 2nd hit. He screams and turns red, flies faster, and tilts just to knock us off his back. I couldn't reach him to get in the third hit, and was knocked into a black hole by a bomb.

Take 2- I got in the first 2 hits, but took three hits from Bugaboom and a bomb, and died.

Take 3- I get in the first 2 hits easily, as well as a 100 Star Bit 1-up. I finally get in the third hit after much trial (I ran in the water a few times). Bugaboom screams and explodes into a Star.

Star Get # 13, 395 Star Bits, 492 Coins, 13 Lives

Interlude

Lubba mentions that there have been changes to the "World" Map. He also mentions one of the Toads is delivering mail. Mail Toad is back! Chush! We should go humor him as he might have something for us. We talk to Pink Toad, who decided to start delivering mail. (How he recieves and sends said mail is beyond us.) The first letter's for us! It's from the Princess. It has the same message as all of those from Galaxy. Even Peach's sighing voice is the same. The letter looks more like a postcard and is white with pink stripes. Pink Toad mentions that she included a 1-up with the letter. (Again, how is not explained.) What? Only 1-up? Peach was much more generous in the prequel- 5-ups per letter for Mario and an intial 20 and later 5 for Luigi.

When we're ready to go to another galaxy, Lubba draws our attention to the Grand "World" Map. We can travel great distances across space and time with a Grand Star's power. (Sounds kind of like Pokemon Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum.) We can travel to another "world" when ready.
