So much for being an oasis. There's a ferocious sandstorm in the area and visibility is low. Periodically, something that looks like a comet piece will blow by. If you walk into the wind, you'll find a sign that reads: "in ... hills .. Dry... ..sert sand ..... ..tween ... striped ..... .... no fear and .... .." I can deciper: "in the hills of Drybake Desert sand .... between the striped ..... have no fear and .... .." Better than nothing. Up ahead is a cyclone. We can place a sticker nearby. I'm guessing either the Fan or the Vacuum. Further to the right is a Toad braving the sandstorm, saying that the legend of the hidden oasis must be true. Ahead is a path and further still another sign, saying, ".. the ..... of ...bake De.... .... flows be..... two ...... cacti show .. .... ... jump in"
That combined with the other sign says, "in the hills of Drybake Desert sand flows between two striped cacti show no fear and jump in." Soon we run into the same Toad again. Looks like we're going in circles. Let's go to Drybake Desert and find those two cacti.
The two striped cacti are on the hill of sliding quicksand, at the top of the hill, towards the screen. Jump over the small rocks and walk down the quicksand, where you'll see them towards the right. You'll drop into a room with more Pokeys and quicksand. At the top is a chest like the one on the Yoshi Sphinx's tongue. It, too, contains a tablet piece. Take the sandpillar outside.
Use the Vacuum near the cyclone to clear it up. The Vacuum will also pick up the comet piece and let it go. Visibility returns to normal and we can move forward. Toad is over by the sign and is upset we found the oasis first. He says he deciphered the sign first, so he'll find something special first. He runs off. Nearby is the comet piece. This opens the path to 2-1. Wait, that's it? Let's check out the oasis.
There is a door drawn on one of the rocks. The Secret Door leads to the Hair Shears. In the oasis, there is a Toad panting. He said the area was an oasis until Bowser dried up the water. The door to the only building is locked. We need a large sticker in front of the large blue pot. The Faucet might help things, so we go to 1-3 to get one. Once we place it, a tidal wave of water rushes in and returns the oasis to a lush, tropical paradise. Toad floats in on a pool toy on the sparkling waters. He's very relaxed. The building's now unlocked. Inside his wardrobe is another chest. Yet another Tablet Piece. Check the blinds over the bed to go outside. On the roof is Shaved Ice. How it hasn't melted is beyond me. Look's like we're done here.
And that makes 1,000 posts.

Paper Mario: Sticker Star -- 1-3 Water's Edge Way
Before continuing, we return to Decalburg to restock on stickers. Talking to the Toads, we find out that the grounds of the Sticker Fest have been cleaned up and that Goombas have come from Goomba Fortress and are attacking the Toads. The Sticker Fest grounds have new stickers, including a Shiny Leaf sticker and a Shiny Iron Jump. The red house in the residential area has a new picture in it, detailing how a Toad beat up some Goombas. In the plaza, there's a Toad near the left side of town waving his arms. He says a new shop opened up over there, so we should check it out. The Toad manning the stand says if we find any interesting "things", we should bring them to him. We stand on a platform, a board appears, and we are to throw the "thing" as hard as we can at the board. We throw the scissors and it becomes a sticker, like the one we used to defeat Bowser Jr. We then head out of town.
According to the map, there appears to be two paths out of here. The item block at the top of the hill has a Shell Sticker. Go down the hill to the waterfall and peel the Bowser tape to make a bridge to the island appear. There doesn't seem to be anything on the island at this point.
We go to the next area to the right, which has a Heart Block and save block. Something big's about to happen. We approach the bridge and can see the comet piece nearby. Just before we reach the bridge, someone calls for "HAAAAALP!" It's that creased Toad again, who says someone is following him. Apparently he found another rare thing and is going to give it to us. It's a new page to our sticker album, so we now have three pages. Thanks, Toad! We cross the bridge and someone asks where the Toad went. It's Kamek, a Magikoopa. He's upset that Toad didn't let him see the album page and will take it from him. He spies Mario and recognizes him as the enemy, even though they've "only just met". He wants us out of the way, so it's battle time!
We get a Battle Spin to start, as there are two Goombas with Kamek. I get triple Mushrooms for a full heal. Kamek has 20 HP. He uses magic on us, but it doesn't seem to have any effect. We stomp him and defeat him. He can't believe he lost. This makes him feel nasty and he feels like doing something nasty, like paperizing and removing the comet piece. He then throws it far away. Before we go on, we hit the item blocks for three Hurlhammers and POW block, and an Iron Jump from an invisible block between them.
In the next area, there is a waterfall with a pipe coming out of it. We're now at Water's Edge Waterfall. Go under the lower part of the falls for some coins. Walk into the lower part of the falls and you'll find a comet piece. This isn't the one we were looking for (this one leads to 1-5), but it will do for the time being. The area marker turns yellow.
We return and go to the next area to the left from where we found the other comet piece. There is a giant Bowser head spewing water. The paperized comet piece is above the water spewing out like a fountain to the left of the Bowser head. We go up the hill and through a tunnel to the right to get a Fire Flower sticker stuck to the pipe, as well as one in the item block. Going back, we peel off the Bowser tape to reveal a hidden area. It appears that there is an entire Bowser statue that's connected to the pipe in the waterfall. The faucet is here, so we jump on the handle three times to shut off the flow of water. This makes the comet piece fall down a hole. The build up of water pressure pops the faucet off and we pick it up.
We drop down the hole into the cavern. We pick up the comet piece and it goes under "Scraps" in our album. There is a door drawn on the wall under one of the holes. The Secret Door leads to a room with coins and the Bed. Going to the right takes us back to the waterfall. Mario paperizes and puts the comet piece back in place. We get it and the path to 1-4 opens up and the area marker turns blue.
