Welcome to the Galaxy!
Mario
We land on the bridge to an Airship, while a remix of the Airship music plays. We are knocked off by a rock from a pink Octoomba.
Take 2- We reach the Airship and hop into the cannon. While in the cannon, we see a planet with Goombas on it, so we blast off there. It's a small planet, so the Goombas look large here. We combo stomp all of the Goombas for a 1-up and sling to the next Airship. We take a hit from lasers and kill the Magikoopa. After hopping in the nearby cannon, we aim for the flagpole on the next Airship. We find Red Toad on board, who says, "Mario! You finally made it! I was starting to worry. You're final.y here... O-oh, man..." We buy a Life Shroom and take the bridge with the Mandibug to a wooden platform with a switch. Spinning the switch makes the platform move, following the dots in front of it. We get a 1-up on the way and we have to dodge bombs and dangling spiders. At the end of the path is a bridge to another Airship.
We sling to the deck and Bowser Jr. appears on an Airship with Bowser's head as the masthead. Bowser Jr. says, "Hee hee hee hee! You just don't give up! Fine, then, I guess I'll just whup you myself! You want this Grand Star so bad? You're gonna have to take it from me!" The battle starts up with Jr.'s music playing. Green Koopas will appear from the sides. We spin and pick up their shells and throw them at Jr.'s Airship for hits. The cannons on his ship will fire at us. After a couple of hits, Magikoopas will appear on our ship. After three hits, Jr. turns the ship so the masthead is facing us, giving us less surface area to hit. The masthead fires large fireballs that will take out the Koopas. We get in two more hits and his Airship explodes as Jr. wails. The Grand Star appears.

The Grand Star flies into the beacon, turning it a light blue and the Bedroom Dome opens. We've discovered 5 new galaxies here. Rosalina says, "Thanks to you and
your friends, all of the
domes on the
lower level are working again. Once the
Engine Room on the
upper level has power, the whole
Observatory will be working. Then the
Comet Observatory will fly as a
starship once again. And you will be able to fly to your
special one in the
center of the universe...
Luigi
After taking damage from a pink Octoomba, we launch from the cannon and get the 1-up from the Goomba planet. We launch from the next cannon and buy a Life Shroom. We activate the platform to the battle Airship, battle Bowser Jr. and get the Grand Star.

Battlerock Galaxy - Luigi under the Saucer
Welcome to the Galaxy!
Mario
We get a letter from Luigi with the same message as last time, but the picture shows he's in Battlerock Galaxy on a saucer in a cage. We land in the galaxy, get the Pull Star Chips, and activate the saucer. We have to deal with the cannon barrage until the end. Luigi's under the saucer closer to the one you used to reach him. We have to carefully guide a Bullet Bill into the cage (they have a tendency to run into the saucer). All the while, Luigi calls for help. Once we free him, he says, "Bwah! I thought I'd go crazy in there! Try to save me sooner next time, Bro! Yeah, yeah, you want this Power Star, right? Ony if you tell Rosalina I found this one!" He pulls out a green Power Star. "The Power Star is mine!

We get a letter from the other Luigi saying he found another Star, but is trapped. We get the Pull Star Chips, activate the saucer, and deal with cannon fire and Amps. At the end of the path, we eventually lead a Bullet Bill into the cage to free him. He says, "Bwah! I thought I'd go nuts in there! Try to save me sooner next time, me!" He says the same thing with Mario and give us a green Star.

Buoy Base Galaxy - The Floating Fortress
Welcome to the Galaxy!
Mario
We land in the galaxy and once again dive underwater. We can't climb up the fortress as is, so we must find some way to make it accessible. Directly underneath the fortress is a large metal ball in a cage. Once again, we lure a Torpedo Ted over to destroy it. With that, several platforms float to the surface. There are now yellow hexagonal buoys for us to stand on. Now, we can climb up the fortress.
First, we wall-jump up past a water blaster and a pushing wall. We walk around the cylindrical fortress to the left, avoiding Thwomps. We find a pink Gearmo, who says, "Who left these water shooters on? Hey, would you give that valve over there a twist and turn them off?" You may be able to dodge the water blasters, which will shoot you off the fortress and back into the water, but turning them off makes your life easier and a green spring Topman appears to boost you to the next level of the fortress. Before we do that, we spin a blue screw to make Pull Star Chips appear and the top part of the fortress starts spinning. We must carefully use the moving platforms to reach all of the Pull Star Chips while dodging Amps. Once we have them all, we use the Pull Stars to reach a spherical planet with laser rings. We spin the screw on the planet, opening it up, which makes it look like a Poke Ball. Opening the planet reveals a pool of water with the Star, so we dive to get it.

There's nothing different about using Luigi on this mission. We break the cage with the metal ball to make the fortress accessible, turn off the water blasters, spin the screw to make Pull Star Chips appear and activate the platforms, use the Pull Stars to reach the next planet, spin the screw to open the planet, and dive for the Star.

Buoy Base Galaxy - The Secret of Buoy Base
Welcome to the Galaxy!
Mario
We land on near the base of a fortress in the middle of a pool of water. The Buoy Base music plays, which is one of my favorites. A nearby Gearmo tells us, "This here's a floating fortress. We call it Buoy Base. But nobody's using it now, so we're just here for upkeep." First, we're going after the secret Star here. We dive underwater, where the music changes. There are Bloopers to avoid here. On the side of the bottom of the pool is a pipe in a cage. How can we break this cage? With a Torpedo Ted, of course! There are a couple of torpedo blasters underwater, so we approach one and lead a Torpedo Ted into the cage (it has the same homing mechanism as the Bullet Bills.) Once the pipe is freed, it produces a vortex, that, if we get close enough to the top of the pipe, will draw us into it. The pipe takes us to the other side of the planet, so that if we look at the ground, we'll see, through the water, the underside of the planet. We land on a yellow path above the water. If we fall in the water, we'll have to go through the pipe to get back here again. Going along the path, we have to deal with Bullet Bills. We make our way on the path and take a hit from both a Bullet Bill and an Amp. We reach the end and see a Green Star in a cage. We lead a Bullet Bill to the cage to break it and get the Star.

We land on the deck and discover a new chapter is available in the library. Polari says, "You rescued a Green Power Star! These stars have a special power. Ask the Green Lumas about them. After all, they will transform into Green Power Stars someday!" We've collected our first Green Star and the first Green Luma has appeared near the translucent green Launch Star. Collecting the remaining Green Stars will bring back the Green Lumas and make the green Lauch Star work. This will allow us to access the Trial Galaxies, which are difficult challenges based off of objectives we've seen before.

Ghostly Galaxy - Bouldergeist's Daredevil Run
Welcome to the Galaxy!
Mario
Yes, we have to duke it out with Bouldergeist, without taking damage. The Daredevi/ Speed Run music plays. We land on the bridge to the arena and run down to start the battle. We have to dodge the rocks, none of which are coins, the spikes, the Bomb Boos, and his hands. I got in one hit before a rock hit me.
Take 2- I got in one hit and took out a hand, before dying from a spike.
Take 3- I defeated him, dodging everything he threw at me. It's best to stay close to the edge of the arena (it's fenced in) so you can avoid his hands. Only go up close to attack. He explodes and the Star appears.
Star Get #39, 1877 Star Bits, 17 Lives
Luigi
I had a much tougher time with Luigi. I was probably rushing, but it could also be that Luigi's controls aren't as precise. I usually died from a hand, which will regenerate after a while. I also died by holding onto a Bomb Boo until it exploded. I finally defeated him on my 22nd attempt.

Bubble Breeze Galaxy - Through the Poison Swamp
Welcome to the Galaxy!
Mario
We land on a grassy patch of land surrounded by a purple swamp. The Space Fantasy music plays. We see a smoking red Starshroom where it crash landed. Green Toad says, "Oh no! Our glorious Starship... The Starshroom... It crashed..." Blue Toad tells us, "This is a poisonous swamp. If you fall in there, you're done for... Watch yourself in the poisonous swamp..." Meaning, if we fall into the swamp, it's an instant death. Red Toad says, "Woo! The wind sure is strong here, eh? Don't you think it'd be awesome if you could ride that wind?" We hop over a couple of grassy patches where we see a large bubble coming out of a machine. Before we can hop in, the nearby sign stops us. "Hey! Before you ride any bubbles, let yours truly, Phil Board, bend your ear for a second. You can move around in your bubble by holding down (A). But do it while your cursor is blowing on the bubble. If you go too far to one side, use the cursor to blow on the other side!" We can also leave the bubble at any time by pressing [Z]. If anything sharp, explosive, or electrifying touches the bubble, or it gets pinched, the bubble will burst, and you will most likely fall to your death, unless there's something to catch you.
We hop into the bubble and our cursor becomes an air-blower, with a Star Cursor, so we can pick up Star Bits as we go. We float deeper into the swamp, collecting Launch Star Chips as we go. There are large fans creating air currents that will take us where we want to go quickly. After we collect all of the chips, we guide the bubble to the Launch Star over a patch of sand. We get into a new bubble and pass through a gate created by a spinning tree trunk with a couple of safe holes. We go pass the wooden gates and find a patch of land with a sign and another bubble. We drop out of the bubble with [Z] to read the sign, which says, "East: Path for expters only, South: shortcut" The path past here forks. We can go either way, but the route to the east is a longer and more challenging route that reunites with the path to the south, which is the one we'll take. We pound the switch to open the gates, hop in the bubble and go south, following the coins and dodging bombs. At the end is a sandy patch with the Star. The Star is surrounded by bombs moving in a circle. One of the bombs pops the bubble, but it's okay, because we land safely and jump to get the Star.

Ghostly Galaxy - Beware of Bouldergeist
Welcome to the Galaxy!
Mario
We land on a green Starshroom. Red Toad informs us, "Luigi was kidnapped by the monster that lives here." We launch, get the Rainbow Star, and run into the mansion. We find Pink Toad in a crate, telling us, "Shake to spin Bomb Boss! When they hit something, they go BOOM!" Bomb Boos are black Boos that will follow us around regardless, with their tongues hanging out. Spin near them to grab their tongues and swing them over your head. After a while, they will flash red and explode. Before they explode, run towards something you want to blow up and it will swing around and hit it. We can use them to destroy Bowser statues, including one in front of the fireplace. This will reveal a Launch Star. We launch twice to an area with Sling Pods, and I fell off.
Take 2- We use the Sling Pods to reach a Sling Star, then a Launch Star. We use the Bomb Boos to destroy another Bowser statue for a 1-up. We then use the Sling Pods to get Pull Star Chips, not necessarily flinging Mario to get them. We use the Pull Stars to go through a hollow planet to a Launch Star. We land on a similar hollow planet with a springy purple and red checkered ball. We get a 1-up, then bounce to the Launch Star. We land near the battle arena and a Luma Shop and walk to it. In the center of the arena, a monster forms from rocks. This is Bouldergeist. He groans, which summons three kinds of rocks, yellow, gray, and black. Gray rocks are used to attack Mario, so keep moving. Yellow rocks produce coins when they hit the ground. Black rocks make Bomb Boos, so grab them by the tongue and swing them into Bouldergeist. He will periodically make rock spikes appear from the ground, so stay away. You can spin them to destroy them. After Bouldergeist takes enough hits, his rocky shell disappears, revealing that he is a large, black specter with a long tongue. He floats around, making more Bomb Boos from the ground. Use one to hit it and it will wail, then the rocky shell will reform, this time with a pair of hands. The hands will try to punch you or smash you into the ground, but staying towards the edge of the arena and away from the hands' shadows will keep you safe. The hands will also destroy some of the rock spikes, but will also take some Bomb Boo hits if the Boom Boos run into them before the rest of Bouldergeist. A few hits will destroy the hands, but your main objective is to hit Bouldergeist's body. We destroyed the body and hit the specter, ending the battle, with one bar of health left. It wails, swells, and explodes, and the Star appears from the center of the arena.

Ghostly Galaxy - A Very Spooky Sprint
Welcome to the Galaxy!
Mario
We launch from the Starshroom, grab the Rainbow Star, but fell off from missing a Pull Star.
Take 2- We launch, get the Rainbow Star, and used the Pull Stars to reach the Launch Star. We land on a gray planet where the trees have eyes. We meet a Boo with a helmet and goggles called the Spooky Speedster. He says, "Hee hee hee! Ehee hee hee! So you're after it too? Well, you'll have to race me for it! Not yet/ Sure" If you say "Not yet", he'll ask if you're scared. If you say "Sure", he'll flip down his goggles and say, "Ehee hee heeere we go!" We have to race him through the Bone Pen to the planet at the end using the Pull Stars. I took a bad path and fell behind and hit a couple of bombs. I lost the race. He says, "Ehee hee hee! 1:58:53, huh?! Better luck next time!" He laughs and you die.
Take 3- I lost with a time of 1:34:86
Take 4- I made it to the end planet before him, using a Sling Star as a boost. When he arrives, his chuckle is deeper. He says, "01:07:65, huh... Well, I promised, so take this Star! Go on, take it and go!" He spins to make the Star appear. The Toads congratulate us. This is one mission where you want to keep your Wiimote cursor on the screen at all times.

I reached the starting planet of the race after launching with a Rainbow Star. I lost horribly due to a bad Wiimote. (The race ends automatically at 2 minutes.

I reached the starting planet of the race after launching with a Rainbow Star. I lost horribly due to a bad Wiimote. (The race ends automatically at 2 minutes.
Take 2- I hit two bombs and still won by using the Sling Star with a time of 1:04:96.

Ghostly Galaxy - Matter Splatter Mansion
Welcome to the Galaxy!
Mario
We launch off the Starshroom and get the Rainbow Star from the stalagmite. There is another stalagmite that is sparkling. We break it to reveal a Launch Star. We launch facing the camera, with the Rainbow Star, which looks good. We land in a fragmented house in green space. The Space Fantasy music plays. We can only see parts of the floor, and parts we can't see don't exist. When we step on a portion of the floor, it appears to move, making some parts visible and others invisible. We get a key, but the floor fell away.
Take 2- We get the key and ? Coin, which moves the next section of floor beyond the first door. We fell off. This is a tricky area. Proceed with caution.
Take 3- We get both the key and ? Coin and slowly proceed. We see a piano and get another key. The "spotlight" on the floor slowly moves upward and we hear the jingle of the Star. The next key opens two doors, one of which has a 1-up. The other door hides a key to the last door, which contains the Star. Get it quickly before the floor disappears from underneath your feet.
