Paper Mario: Sticker Star -- 3-4 Strike Lake

We see a segment of Wiggler run off. The trees ahead are rustling. Hit them with your hammer to knock down the fruit for coins and stickers. The segment of Wiggler's body is hiding in a tree. It'll run off. You can't pick it up by paperizing. In the next area, it's behind a fence and will run over a pool of poison, then hide in a tree. It will then run to the area to the right. It'll be hiding flipped around so it's almost invisible. Once you find it, it will run to the previous area. The comet piece is here, but we'll keep following it. There's a door drawn here. The Secret Door will lead to the Drum. The other area to the back looks like bowling alley. There's a comet piece behind the pins. We don't have anything to knock the pins over yet. We go back to the previous area and hit the tree to the right. A yellow Billiard Ball falls out. In the area with the comet piece we can reach, there's a door drawn on the side of the wall near the Fire Flower. Go back to the first area and you'll notice a shrub moving. Hit the shrub and the segment will appear and pose with Mario. Now that it has joined us, we lead it to the comet piece.

This opens the path to 3-5. The Wiggler piece will run off there without us. Hopefully it knows where another segment is.

We make the Bowling Ball into a sticker and return here. Go to the bowling alley and stick the Bowling Ball over the stump on the right. The alley lights up and Mario gets a perfect strike, complete with cheers and instant replay. Conveniently, another 3D Bowling Ball appears out of the tree to the left. The comet piece opens the path to 3-11.

New Super Mario Bros. 2: 3-4

There's more purple water in this level. There are a few Wigglers in this level, as well as crates that bob in the purple water. Don't stand on them for too long or they'll sink. Get some Red Coins and the first Star Coin over a Wiggler on a crate. Jump from the ledge to the right to get it. There's a ? Switch overhead that makes coins appear from the green pipe to the right. Go through the red pipe. This will take you to the midpoint. Here's where things get tricky. The purple water will periodically rise here, to the level marked on the side of the rocks. You'll be jumping on and from boxes. When the water lowers, quickly run to the right under a ledge for the second Star Coin and run back the way you came. The purple water will come through there. Immediately, you'll see two item blocks. Between them is an invisible block with a vine to Coin Heaven. Climb up the platforms, activate the Gold Ring and send the Koopa shell down the path for lots of coins and an item. It drops you back down where the vine is. To the right, up in an alcove, is the third Star Coin. Get it and go left and over the ledge for coins. Soon, you'll reach the green pipe to the flag. There's a Wiggler there. This leads to the Ghost House. Under the ledge with the green pipe to the flag is a red pipe blocked by brick blocks. Break them with a Raccoon Tail or Koopa shell. There's a Gold Block. Jump off the crate to reach the stairs to the Red Goal to 3-B.

Super Mario 3D Land: 3-4

It's winter in this level, with appropriate music that reminds me of a piece from the Legend of Zelda. We must cross tightropes, some of which are crawling with Fuzzies. We bouncing up the tightropes attached to the tall tree and hit the purple arrow blocks from below so we can reach the first Star Coin. After crossing the gap with the tightrope, we warp using an orange Mystery Box. We cross a long tightrope, but hit a purple arrow block so we can reach a rainbow musical note block to Coin Heaven. We get a Starman and run through the enemies and get some coins, including the second Star Coin at the end. Next are two parallel tightropes, each with three Fuzzies. We can dodge them with another set of parallel tightropes above. We warp using an orange Mystery Box. We jump up the tightropes and cross another set of parallel tightropes. We drop down into the alcove for Super Mario 2 musical notes and a Tanooki Suit. While collecting the musical notes, we cross another tightrope to a flying item block that will take us to the third Star Coin and another orange Mystery Box, which takes us to the flagpole.

New Super Mario Bros. Wii 3-4 QSC

I found the 2nd Star Coin under the gapped platform near the Parakoopas. The 3rd Star Coin is next to the wall with the ice platforms coming out of it. Just jump over the platforms and drop down to get the Star Coin.

New Super Mario Bros. Wii: 3-4 Replay -- Almost Impossible to Fail

Now that the switch has be activated, this level becomes much easier. You reach it after completing 3-5. New features with this switch include the fact that it can be activated from the map (no going through another level to reach it) and it can be deactivated. We're going to leave it activated because you cannot progress without it. With the blocks filled in, almost all gaps leading to the void are covered up. It is also easier to dodge some enemies and the paths allow you to avoid difficult areas, such as that immediately past the midgate. Finally, a red pipe is accessible, which takes you to the main goal (black flag), allowing you to progress to the castle. I got this within 2 tries playing solo.

New Super Mario Bros. Wii: 3-4 -- Absolute Disaster!

I tried doing this level in multiplayer mode. It was nothing short of a disaster and is making me reconsider wanting to play this game in multiplayer. I played initially with Sarah Raezler, but the two of us could not make it through the level. Soon, she switched out with another Archive staff member. We still could not beat the level. Soon, he swapped out with someone waiting for a system to open up. We finally beat the level, but not before I got 7 continues. Up until this point, I had 1, maybe 0 because I had to restart, so that continue I received on 2-1 may not even exist on my file. Anyway, I am now up to 8 continues, just from this one session. Becuase that accounts for over 35 lives lost, I will not post details on every single take. This level has several sliding platforms, which can easily crush a player who does not get out of the way. This caused many of the deaths in this level, but not compared to the number of deaths from falling in the void. There are block outlines, showing that this level could be much easier and have lots of secrets. They mostly cover the void. There aren't very many enemies, but there doesn't need to be. We maybe got one Star Coin out of this level. The level is much harder after the midgate. There is nothing to save you from falling in the void and the moving platforms are slippery. After much trial and error, we beat the level, but after another game over, I had to restart the level. All the other Player 2s left, so I beat the level solo in a few more tries. Wait a second- the flag is red! Only secret goal flags are red! What's going on here? The goal at the very end of the level is supposed to have a black flag! Oh, we're not going to the castle just yet, we have to make a quick detour to 3-5 and the switch.
