Paper Mario: Sticker Star -- 5-1 Shy Guy Jungle

This place has Spear Guys, who, depending on how they point their spears, will prevent you from using hammers (spear pointed at you) or jumping (spear pointed up). There's a large flower in a gap you have to cross. Drop down and hit the flower with your hammer or it will hurt Mario. There are Hammer Bros and Boomerang Bros here.

The next area has tall grass, so you won't be able to see all of the enemies. Go between the trees that have an item block between them, then go right for the Toy Bat. There is a heart in a small ruin nearby. The Spear Guys will throw spears at you outside of battle and they're pretty accurate. The next area has the comet piece surrounded by Spear Guys. There is a Heart Block and Save Block to the left. We can't reach the comet piece as something is missing from the floor. Each of the Spear Guys has a scrap, so we have to chase them down. When we approach them, they scatter. One hides in the tall grass in the area. It takes a while to chase him down, but if you can trap him out of the grass near the Save and Heart Blocks, you can easily hit him without him running away. Defeating him gives the Bridge Part scrap.

We go to the area to the left next. There are mounds of paper "plants" all over. Towards the front is a piece of paper that says "X3DR-B8HH-9ZR2-FL16". Another piece of paper advertises the Sticker Fest. Another is a business card for a Toad working for the Warp Pipe Development Unit. This place is full of thrown away paper. Yet another scrap is part of the song Birdo was singing, with some modified lyrics, reading "Heart of a woman... Heart of a man... Both shaken by love's grace... So tie a pink ribbon, dance all about... Just try not to get egg on your face." Not too far away, we find the other part of the song, with an extra line. Another is a piece of a transmission from Shell Shock 2 to Shell Shock 1 about Shell Shock 3. There is an advertisement from the Enigmansion steward for a servant. Goombella's Observations on the Chomp Ruins are also here, as well as the Sticker Festival dance choreography. Periodically, you may find a Shy Guy, but it's not the one you want. We can place a Thing Sticker here. The Vacuum clears up the mess and reveals footprints to the next area. The Spear Guy with the scrap is in the back corner. We go to the area to the left. There's nothing but tree stumps. We can place stickers here we don't want, which makes item blocks appear.

The area to the right of the comet piece has more Spear Guys and Hammer Bros. The Spear Guy with the scrap hands it off to a Spear Guy on the other side of a gap with a carnivorous flower. Drop down to the level of the flower and walk left until you see a tall shrub. Hit it a few times to destroy it and reveal some Bowser tape. Peeling it reveals some steps. Behind the other side of the gap is a cave with an HP-Up Heart. We hit the flower and cross the gap to the next area. This area has the Spear Guy with the scrap and thick grass. There's another carnivorous flower. There's a door drawn on the other side of the gap. The Secret Door leads to the Tailor Shears . Chase the Spear Guy out of the grass to the left and up the ramp. He'll fall in to the flower and the scrap will end up on the other side of the gap. We need to find a shortcut so we can cross the gap before the flower recovers. If we go up to the gap, jump behind the grass, and walk to the left, we'll find the Powder Puff. The shortcut we need here is an invisble block behind the blue flower on the left step. Hit the block with your hammer. Now we can easily cross the gap and get the last scrap.

Back in the area with the comet piece, we replace the bridge and get the comet piece. This opens the path to 5-2.

New Super Mario Bros. 2: 5-1

This level is filled with tightropes. Time your jumps for extra height. You'll also need to time your jumps to reach blocks and coins circling the tightropes. Jump up above the second tightrope, circled by blocks, to reach another tightrope below a brick block that can become a Gold Block. To the right are Parakoopas circling a tightrope, then another tightrope with blocks circling overhead. They surround the first Star Coin, so jump onto the brick blocks when they're low. At the top of the circle is an invisible block surrounded by coins. It has a 1-up. Just below and to the right is a Gold Ring. Activate it and kick the Koopa shell on the tightrope for lots of coins. It won't leave the boundaries of the tightrope. Next to that tightrope is the midpoint. There are three tightropes in a triangle formation surrounding the second Star Coin. The best way to get it is to just stand still on the top tightrope. Mario will fall through shortly. You can also slide in from the sides. Jump up and right to the next tightrope. Jump in the center of it for a vine to an new area. Above the brick block, which can become a Gold Block, is an invisible block with a 1-up. The third Star Coin is here, circling around with lots of Parakoopas. Jump over the circle to the next tightrope and try to get it while bouncing off. If you fall, you'll drop back to the main level. Backtrack to the left to try again, but this can be time consuming. Drop back down and you'll find a Red Coin Ring and a Gold Ring near the flag. This will open the path to 5-2. If, while you're in the area to get the third Star Coin, you jump up in the center of the tightrope, you'll hit an invisible block with a vine so you can go right. It will lead to more circling Parakoopas, but there are fewer than in the ring before. Time your jump carefully and bounce off them to reach the Red Goal to the Ghost House.

Coin Total: 50,078

New Super Mario Bros.: 5-1

World 5 is an ice world, so we have to deal with slippery surfaces and deep snow. Here, we'll find Snow Spikes creating snowballs that they throw. The snowballs take out enemies and increase in size, and have the potential to hurt Mario. There are trees here with snow covered branches. If the branch shakes, the snow will fall, possibly burying Mario if he's in the way. In some parts of the level are patches of deep snow, which it's difficult to jump and dodge enemy attacks. You'll come across some item blocks high up. Bounce off of them to reach the first Star Coin. Soon after, you'll reach the midpoint. You can get the second Star Coin by boucing off a Paratroopa or the floating item block. Soon after, you'll see a Snow Spike on a ledge to the right of a yellow block with a face. Hitting the block will stack more blocks on top of it temporarily. It will block the snowballs. To get past it, you have to kill the Snow Spike. You'll use a similar block to reach the third Star Coin. The flagpole is at the end. The path forks to 5-2 or 5-A.

Super Mario 3D Land: 5-1

It's time to meet the Boomerang Flower. Now, we can throw boomerangs. The desert music plays on this rocky level. To the left is a green pipe. We jump to the left from the blocks for the first Star Coin. Under the blue bridge is a P-Switch that makes Super Mario 2 musical notes for a Boomerang Flower. We pass a couple of Tanooki Thwomps, whose tails are kind of springy. Above the second Thwomp is the second Star Coin. At the top is a ramp to a door to the midpoint. The rock bridge slowly crumbles and falls. The octangonal area rises. A Boomerang Bro drops down, then some spike balls. Then a Squizzard-like enemy appears, then more spike balls. We jump for the third Star Coin and fall off.
Take 2- We get the third Star Coin with a Boomerang. We get another Boomerang Flower from the Red Coins. The platforms enter into a tube so the spike balls bounce off the walls. We reach the top and let the spike balls roll away. We climb the stairs with Pokeys and reach a cannon. We aim through the ring for a 1-up at the flagpole.

New Super Mario Bros. Wii 5-1 QSC

The first and second (and third) Star Coins are in the giant Koopa shells throughout the level. You have to ground pound on the left side of the first shell to access the inside of the shell.

New Super Mario Bros. Wii: 5-1 -- Tripping up Over Each Other

After Yellow Toad takes his continue, we start the level. There are lots of walking Piranha Plants that stretch to block the path. We take damage from these as well as Piranha plants that float and blow spiky green balls in the air. We rush through, so we take a lot of damage, instead of waiting for the enemies to lower their attacks. We find the 1st Star Coin and reach the midgate. We try to power up as much as possible. We find a place that gives us a ton of difficulty: there are a series of vines over a few walking Piranha Plants. At first, we get on the same vine, which prevents us from effectively moving. It takes several tries, but we eventually cooperated enough that one would wait for the other to get off the vine. We reach a wheel that requires us to stand on the correct platform to turn it and move us. We were above blue water, thankfully, because we could not coordinate it enough for both of us to operate the wheel at the same time. I was powered up with the Ice Flower, so I took out the floating Piranha Plants while Yellow Toad swam. When the wheel reached the end of the line, he got back up. I took out some more of the walking Piranha Plants, but I lost my Ice Flower in the process. We reach a wall with a pipe and a huge Koopa shell. I use the vine to swing up into the shell, which contains another pipe. I enter the pipe and Yellow Toad waits for the game to send him through the pipe automatically. We use the Pow Block and get the 3rd Star Coin. We exit the shell and I use the vine to get on a ledge so I can get a higher score at the goal. Yellow Toad does not make it to the goal in time.

Later on, we both get Game Overs, so we had to replay the level, but we got through it a lot better and faster.
