New Super Mario Bros.: 6-A
This level takes place in the desert, where Lakitu flies overhead. There are tordadoes in this level, which spin you around and launch you in the air. You'll slowly descend to the ground, so pick up any coins you find in mid air. Enter the first tornado from the left side so you'll exit with enough height to reach the first Star Coin in the air. It's to the right; just follow the trail of coins. Soon after you get the first Star Coin, you'll find a patch of quicksand that's higher than the rest. Let the quicksand pull you under to a cave below. In this cave, wall jump for the second Star Coin. Go up the yellow pipe to return to the main level. Past the midpoint you'll find an item block that you can't normally access. Let the quicksand in front of it pull you partway down, then hop up after you go under the rock. It will give you a Starman to make your life easier. Towards the end, you'll find two pipes in a large gap between two large sets of pipes. Go down the yellow pipe and jump over the giant Piranha Plant for the third Star Coin. You'll come up a pipe to the left of the yellow pipe you just when through. A nearby green pipe in that cluster is a cannon that will blast you over the gap, which will trap you with invisble blocks. After that is the pipe to the flag.

Dusty Dune Galaxy - Purple Coins in the Desert
Welcome to the Galaxy!
Mario
We land on the planet where we flip to the blue and yellow areas. Most of the Purple Coins are on the platforms, but some are high in the air, reachable by tornado. A few are over a Thwomp. We go through the area like before, and find some coins on the tower with the switch. We pound the switch so we can reach the coins on the other side using the tower. Take note that a few of the coins are at the base of the tower. One Purple Coin is near the hole where we can flip, but it is in the air, so backflip and spin to get it.
Star Get #114, Galaxy Complete!, 2952 Star Bits, 9 Lives
Luigi
This took me three attempts because I kept falling in the quicksand. Green Toad lets us know that there are no coins in the sand.

Dusty Dune Galaxy - Blasting through the Sand
Welcome to the Galaxy!
Mario
We land in the galaxy and kill off all the Pokeys for the Launch Star. We land on a small sand disk as in "Treasure of the Pyramid". We jump to get out of the sand. We walk over to the ring planet with the boulders on it. We go under one of the nearby planets for a Life Shroom. Under the planet in the middle of the ring is a Rainbow Star.
The Sling Star on the other side takes us to a sand tube. We find a Dry Bones on the planet, then sling to the sand tube. Along the sand tube are Pull Star Chips. We'll need to go over the sand tube at least twice (it's a loop) to get them all. The last one we should get is in a treasure chest. There are Koopas on the rocks where we landed, so we can grab their shells to open the chest. The Pull Stars will take us to a nearby planet, where we land on a rock in quicksand with green and orange arrows. This time I took the path with the green arrow, which leads to a green pipe to a secret area. The ? Coin makes music notes that play the underground theme. Collecting them all will give you 3 1-ups.
We take another green pipe to another planet. We are on the blue side of the planet, but can easily flip to the other side using the holes in the platforms above the quicksand. We flip to the other side, which is yellow, so we can go to the other hole on the planet. We fell in the quicksand.
Take 2- We walk on the yellow side to reach the hole to a different part of the blue side we couldn't reach before. There are tornados and Dry Bones here. At the end of the path are three platforms, the tallest of which has a switch. Pounding it makes the platforms fall into the ground and a timer start ticking. (There is a time limit, but the exact time is not shown.) We have to reach a similar sand patch on the yellow side before the time runs out. Unfortunately, I tried using a tornado to move faster and fell in the quicksand.
Take 3- I reached the platforms on the yellow side, which allow us to reach the Star high above the sand.
Star Get #59, 2718 Star Bits, 11 Lives
Luigi
This mission also took me three takes with Luigi. We kill the Pokeys, launch, get the Life Shroom and Rainbow Star and sling twice to the sand tube. We get the Pull Star Chips and take the path of the orange arrow on the next planet, which just leads us to the Launch Star to the planet where we flip to the other side. I fell in the quicksand twice. I pounded the switch and made it in time to reach the Star on the yellow side.

Dusty Dune Galaxy - Soaring on the Desert Winds
Welcome to the Galaxy!
Mario
Once again, Noelle is my Co-Star. We land on a patch of sand in the middle of a quicksand planet. Slow, Egyptian-style music plays. The quicksand in this galaxy is the instant death kind. It will drag you under immmediately, as noted on the signs in the quicksand with the skulls, which oddly, don't sink themselves. We hop to another patch of sand, where we see several tornados over the quicksand. We jump into the closest one, which spins us around. If we shake the Wiimote, Mario takes off as a little Mario-copter. We can control him as he slowly descends. We want to make sure he lands in another tornado, so watch his shadow relative to the tornados' shadows. We get a 1-up in the air. We guide Mario over to a green pipe on a patch of sand.
This is a 2D area where an Underground remix plays. We land on a sand slide and end up over a large set of blocks. We ground pound near the right wall and move to the right where we find three Thwomps. Over the middle one is a 1-up. Be quick and careful about moving over them, as they will crush you when they reach the ceiling. We get a Life Shroom. We drop down to a lower sand slide. The ? Coin makes several Star Bits appear. Another ? Coin gives us a Fire Flower so we can take out the Piranha Plants nearby, some of which are on the low ceiling. We move quickly, but a giant boulder still hits us. At the end of the slide is a Sling Star which will sling us to a green pipe on the ceiling, with lots of Star Bits on the way.
Outside, we find a Launch Star wich takes us to a tower. We use a tornado to reach a higher level and get a 1-up. We walk around the tower to find more tornados. We get in one and use them to reach the ? Coin, which produces two Sling Stars. We use the tornados on the left to go up the tower behind the glass. The ? Coin makes more Star Bits. Behind the glass, we wall-jump up, walk over a short distance, and slide down the wall to a ledge on the right. We wall-jump up the right-most section of the tower. We ride the red brick up to the top of the tower, and backflip and spin to the area with the Star. There is slow quicksand with red bricks periodically popping out the quicksand. We hop on them to the Star in crystal.

Drip Drop Galaxy - Giant Eel Outbreak
Welcome to the Galaxy!
Mario
We fed the Hungry Luma outside the Kitchen 600 Star Bits to access this galaxy.
We land in the galaxy on a planet that is a giant sphere of water with sunken ships. Slow, eerie, spacey music plays. We land on an island with a bunch of penguins. One of them tells us, "Giant Gringills have been terrorizing the waters lately! Can you help us?" Another says, "Gringills like those could gobble us up in one bite! Can you beat those Gringills by hitting them with shells?" So the eels called Gringills have been terrorizing the penguins, keeping them from swimming in the waters and from catching fish. The penguins give us instructions on how to swim with shells (use [Z] to dive and brake, shake to throw the shell), telling us to get air bubbles or coins if our Air Meter runs low. If it runs out, we will lose health. They also tell us that Red Shells will hone in on the enemy, like in Mario Kart.
We grab a shell and dive in. We track one Gringill down, and, with careful aim, hit it with a shell and kill it. It poofs into Star Bits. We can see a sunken Starshroom underwater, as well as Torpedo Teds and treasure chests. Treasure chests may contain Red Shells, which makes our job easier, but we must see a Gringill before a Red Shell will be able to hit it. We kill the last two, for a total of three. Once we kill all of them, the Star appears over a sunken ship. The Penguins are congratulatory and want to fish.
Star Get #44, Galaxy Complete!, 2 Coins, 1478 Star Bits, 11 Lives
Interlude
Polari has spotted an enemy base.
Luigi
We feed the Hungry Luma 600 Star Bits and launch to the galaxy. We already know what's going on, so we dive in and start throwing shells at eels. We use Green Shells for the first two and quickly finish off the last one with a Red Shell.
Star Get #44, Galaxy Complete!, 1 Coin, 1774 Star Bits, 18 Lives

Melty Monster Galaxy - Green Star 2
Welcome Back to the Galaxy!
We have to find 3 green Stars in this land full of lava and awesome music. I found the first Star near the Launch Star, but I didn't use the Pull Stars well, hit some Blaargs. and died.
Take 2- I hit the Blaargs and died in the lava.
Take 3- See Take 2.
Take 4- See Take 2. I almost had it this time.
Take 5- I got a Life Shroom and lost it. I launched and tripped the midgate, hit a Podoboo, and fell in the lava.
Take 6- I see the Star towards the back of the wavepool planet. I touched the lava twice, got another Life Shroom, tripped the midgate and used a tornado and spun to the Star. This is a Type 2, Type 3 Star.
Green Star Get #89!
Star Get #209, 6426 Star Bits, 2507 Coins, 10 Lives

Melty Monster Galaxy - The Magnificent Magma Sea
Welcome Back to the Galaxy!
This galaxy's name sounds a whole lot like Melty Molten from Galaxy. There is an equally large amount of lava here, but the music is different. It sounds like a grand adventure, like Indiana Jones. This is one of the times the power of the orchestra comes through. Also thrown in are the 6 notes that let you know you're playing Galaxy. We land on a platform and see several Blaargs on lava spheres. They will come up periodically to gobble whatever's in their path. We must use Pull Stars to cross over the spheres and dodge the Blaargs. There was some difficulty reaching the Launch Star, but we make it, launching two times before reaching the midgate. There is a lava wave pool with Podoboos. I take a hit from a Podoboo and die from the lava.
Take 2- I take two hits from the lava. The lower platforms will be covered in lava once a wave comes. I get a much needed Life Shroom between some flagpoles. We go across all of the platforms and flagpoles. I take a hit from a Podoboo. We have to go across rotating platforms and dodge a Blaarg. We trip the midgate and see tornadoes. Tornadoes were in Dusty Dunes Galaxy in Galaxy, so we can savely travel with them and spin to fly away like a helicopter. We reach a swing which helps us reach the Launch Star.
We launch to a new area with several spheres. There are several lava monsters marching around the planet. They pass through the spheres, so we have to time our crossing. The Comet Medal is on a sphere. The unsafe spheres are scorched black and the safe ones are stone gray. I take a hit from a monster on a gray sphere because I was on the edge and in its path. We reach the Star trapped in crystal near the end, free it, and it flies to another sphere. I take another hit from a monster and it knocks me onto the sphere the Star is one. The monsters also drown out the "Star is free" music.
Star Get #59, 34 Comet Medals, 388 Star Bits, 1308 Coins, 11 Lives
Interlude
A Comet appears in Bowser Jr.'s Boom Bunker. Lubba mentions we have another hungry mouth to feed. He hopes we know what we're doing. Another dice Luma appears in the green pipe in the Faceship's left ear. He wants 100 Coins for 5 dice spins. While on the deck, we can see and hear objects rushing into the black hole.
