Snowman's Land - Red Coins in the House

This mission is unique to the Nintendo DS.
As mentioned previously, the Red Coins are in the igloo. I drowned in the water trying to reach the Shiny Shell.
Take 2- I grabbed Luigi's cap, because Luigi can backflip to the ledge with the Shiny Shell without using a Spindrift. We use the Shiny Shell to reach the igloo. Five Red Coins are floating in the air, one is on a platform, and two underwater, one on the back wall, and another in the middle of the igloo. The Star appears near the right wall.
Star Get #103, 30 Coins, 5 Lives
The next Star is Shocking Arrow Lifts!

Snowman's Land - Into the Igloo

N64
I decided to get 100 Coins in this mission. I got many coins from Spindrifts and Moneybags, creatures that have lots of coins and disguise themselves as coins. Runnning around small snowmen, as you would Mr. I, will defeat them and get you some coins. We get the Shiny Shell and go up the slope on the snowman marked with coins. At the top of the slope is a tiny igloo. Crouch, then move to crawl, so you can crawl into the igloo. The Hazy Maze Cave music plays. The igloo is very spacious inside. It's a maze of ice walls, some of which contain coins. I found the Bob-omb Buddy so he could open the cannon. You can see a Vanish Cap block that you can't just seem to reach. Near the front of the igloo, you can slide between an ice wall and the igloo wall. I then backflipped over an ice wall to reach the Vanish Cap. With it, we can walk through ice walls. I got several coins from the walls, totaling 101.
Star Get #81, 101 Coins, 6 Lives
The Star is in the front ice wall. While the Vanish Cap is still in effect, run to the front wall and jump into the ice to get the Star.
Star Get #82, 105 Coins, 8 Lives

Nintendo DS
We need to be Luigi for this mission. I decided to get 100 Coins in this mission as well. I got over 40 coins before dying in the water after losing the Shiny Shell.
Take 2- I successfully made it up to the igloo with 50 Coins. We crawl into the igloo, moving while crouching. The Hazy Maze Cave music plays, but the layout is much different from the N64 version. There are pools of cold water that can drain your health. We talk to the Bob-omb Buddy so he'll open the cannon. There are several coins underwater. The Red Coins are also in the igloo. There are many Spindrifts that will provide you with coins. The Star appeared in the water and fully restored my health.
Star Get #101, 100 Coins, 3 Lives
As Luigi, get the Power Flower in the back left corner. Run quickly to the front of the igloo, where the floor is a grate. Drop through the grate to get the Star.
Star Get #102, 103 Coins, 6 Lives
The next Star is Red Coins in the House.

Snowman's Land - Snowman's Silver Star

This mission is unique to the Nintendo DS.
It's time for another Silver Star mission! The first one is near the Goombas with caps and the fire. It's also close to the Bully. The second one is near the Spindrifts and the yellow Item block. The third one is on the ledge with the Star from Whirl from the Freezing Pond. We use the Spindrift to reach the ledge. I slid off the ledge and spent too much time in the water and died.
Take 2- I got the first three Silver Stars. The fourth is on the same ledge as the third, and you need the Shiny Shell to get it to avoid sliding off. The last one is under the Bully's platform, so keep the Shiny Shell. The Star appears in the Star Sphere near where you started. (This mission is like the N64's Red Coin mission.)
Star Get #100, 0 Coins, 3 Lives
The next Star is Into the Igloo.
We're two-thirds done! 50 more Stars to go!

Snowman's Land - Shell Shreddin' for Red Coins

This mission is unique to the N64.
It's time to get more Red Coins! There's one near the Spindrift and the bridge to the Bully. Past the Bully, near a couple of Spindrifts and item block with a 1-up, there is another Red Coin. If we jump up on the ledge with the Spindrifts, and walk around, we will find four more. While staying on the ledge, we get the Shiny Shell. There are two more Red Coins under the Bully's platform, over the freezing water. We need the Shiny Shell to safely reach them. The Star appears near where you started.
Star Get #80, 54 Coins, 4 Lives

Dire, Dire Docks - Koopa Surfin' Switch Star

This mission is unique to the Nintendo DS.
We should start the mission with Wario, to save time swimming through the tunnel and back. The Star Switch is under a black brick block on a sandbar in the first area. This is the main change from the N64 version. The middle block hides the Star Switch. The time limit is very short, so the only way to get the Star is by using the shell in the nearby item block. It took me two attempts to get it. The item block with the shell will respawn, so you don't have to exit the course.
Star Get #88, 7 Coins, 3 Lives
The next Star is the Red Coins in Goomboss Battle.

Lethal Lava Land - Flaming Silver Stars

This mission is unique to the Nintendo DS.
The Silver Stars here are spread all over the map, on islands best accessed using the Shiny Shell. Next to the large black brick box is an item block with a Shiny Shell. I went around Lethal Lava Land in a clockwise fashion. Three Silver Stars are on semi-circular rocks, one is on a large rock with coins and a 1-up near the little Bullies, and the last one is on the rock with a Mr. I. I took a couple of hits from Mr. I. The Star appeared in a Star Sphere on the circular rock behind where we started. I lost the Shiny Shell, so I long-jumped to the square, bobbing platforms and made my way back to where we started, falling in the lava twice. The box with the Shiny Shell will regenerate if you need it again. I long-jumped from where we started and got the Star near the item block with the Wing Cap feather.
Star Get #65, 25 Coins, 4 Lives
The next Star is Eye to Eye in the Secret Room.
