Mario and Luigi: Dream Team -- Part 19: Mushrise Manual Labor Board

Mario and Luigi have retrieved the Driftwood Jellyfish Sheets from the Fly Guy Rs after sneaking up on them while Dreambert and Starlow created a diversion. There are three more parts of the Ultibed to collect, so let's go to Mushrise Park, which is close by. There are only a few areas the bros haven't visited yet. Go south twice from the park entrance. Boss Brickle is pacing around, wondering what to do. He decides to ask the bros, but doesn't know where they are. Approach him. He wants the bros to help him, but they're looking for the Mushrise Tree Board. He knows where it is, but tell them only once they help him. The bros agree and he says he wants them to clear rocks. He says his staff wasn't equipped to handle the monsters that showed up when the castle in the sky appeared. He shows them on the map where the rocks are. He recommends starting on the south end. The bros should talk to him when they're done.

Go south and try to go east. Some Brocks say they've cleared the tree that blocked the path, but there are monsters where they should clear rocks. The bros explain they're there to clear the rocks and the Brocks leave. There are 35 rocks to clear in total. In this area, there are Fly Guy Rs. There's a rotating tube in the center of the area. Stand on the circle on the ledge to the south, then Side Drill into the tube. Fire with (B) at the rocks to destroy them. This can be used to destroy rocks you can't reach with the tube. On the north side are some cylindrical ledges. The bridge on one of them leads to a pillow. On the map, you can see how many rocks left to clear in that area. Move on when you finish.
From here, go west, north twice, then east. Talk to the Brock near the bridge to reach the rocks. There are three rocks you can't clear immediately, so go south.

Here, there's a complicated system of tubes for destroying rock. You can reach the tubes from the south. The tube system is a little tricky, so make sure everything is lined up for when you want to transfer tubes. Use the hammer platform to break the rocks to the north. Return using the hammer platform. When you're done destroying rocks, return to Boss Brickle. Follow him towards the Maintenance Hut. Follow him to the south from there. This is where they keep the Mushrise Tree Board, or so Boss Brickle says. He doesn't know for sure. He found it while tilling the soil when the park was still a muddy field. Dreambert confirms its identity. Dreambert mentions that the Mushrise Tree grows in this area, but the board is the only thing remaining when the tree decays.

There's a camera block two areas south of the entrance. There's one more pillow in the park. Go east of the camera block to find it.

Mario and Luigi: Dream Team -- Part 4: The Fluffy Cuteness

Mario and Luigi enter the maintenance hut and Luigi takes a nap on the bed, which is comfier than the ground. The portal opens and Dreambert smells lost dreams. He has no doubt the pillow is Eldream. Starlow tells Mario to ask Eldream about the deepest part of the dream world.

Dreamy Luigi's waiting for Mario. Dreambert senses Eldream in this world. A cloud-like rabbit appears with a nightmare chunk. The rabbit takes off with the nightmare chunk. Boss Bickle appears in the dream, saying he runs the park. He says they've just met, even though the bros recognize him. He loves the park, but he wants something to attract more visitors. Brickle disappears and Dreambert says that Brickle's form in the dream world is not one with reality. This form was created by Luigi's subconscious, which would explain why Broque Monsieur was in previous dreams. Go right.

The rabbit is here, but runs off. Brickle thinks the bunny could attract more visitors. He wants to catch the rabbit as well, and that makes him the bros' rival in his eyes. He gets a carrot and dons rabbit ears. He runs after the rabbit. Ahead is a Save Block and an Attack Piece. There's a plant that looks like Luigi's nose and mustache, but it's not a Luiginary Work. Go to the right.

There are new enemies called Dreamcaps and Dreamcap Captains. They will charge at Mario from the side or behind. Defeat the captain and the remaining Dreamcaps cluster in fear. There's an Attack Piece to the right. Blow the item blocks in reach with the tornado Luiginary Work, then go right.

Use the Work to flip the platform under a windmill to the other side. There's another Attack Piece here. Keep going to the right. Grab another Attack Piece and go right again. Boss Brickle is here, trying to lure the rabbit with the carrot. The rabbit runs off. Follow them over the pipe and go to the right. Keep going and you'll see Brickle bouncing on some flowers with larger carrots. The rabbit's in the clouds. Brickle wants to water the flowers so they'll grow enough for him to reach the rabbit. Follow him to the right. There's a pipe and an Attack Piece ahead. Go through the pipe.

The pipe takes you to the water pipe maze. There are a couple of Attack Pieces here. Walk on the orange pipe, then use the tornado to spin it around. This will allow you to keep going. You'll find new enemies called Propellions here. They'll dive bomb Mario. Go up and reach the green pipe at the top. This will return you above ground, where there's a Save Block. Go right.

Brickle is on a larger version of the water pump machine. He says spinning the windmill feathers will get the water pump working and if he can turn on the watering machine, it will water the flowers. He decides to let the bros help. There's a tree ahead that's a Luiginary Work. Use the branches to reach the windmill feathers. Help Brickle up there as well. He'll reward the bros with an Attack Piece. He says collecting 10 will give the bros a Luiginary Attack. Follow him to the left.

There's another Attack Piece here. Send Luigi into the Work, then climb up the stairs. Hit the orange ! Block to connect the stairs to the windmill so it can be spun. This allows Mario to reach the other side. Go right. Brickle is there and wants to call another truce when some enemies show up. He gives the bros the last Attack Piece, unlocking the Luiginary Attack Luiginary Ball. Tilt the 3DS to pick up Luiginoids to make a big ball, then kick it at the enemy. Gently tilt the 3DS, then line up the ball before kicking it. Practice until you're ready.

Brickle shows how to use a Luiginary Attack, after healing Mario. Select the Luiginary block, then the attack, which costs BP. They're more generous with the Luiginoids in real battle, so don't worry about having enough to use. When the ball flashes three times, there are enough Luiginoids for an Excellent attack. When the battle's over Brickle tells the bros to get the windmill spinning so the water will start flowing. Use the tornado Work. This gets the water flowing. You'll need to return to the water pipe maze if the orange pipes aren't connected to the blue ones. This activates the fountain and waters the flowers and the trees that look like mustaches, turning them into Luiginary Tree Works.

Go above ground and to the left and the rabbit leaves. Use the branches to bounce on the flowers. Go right and hit the orange ! Block. Go up the stairs and stand on the grass before using the tornado. Go up the stairs, then hit the next orange block to get the stairs to spin different ways, depending on where you want to go. Go left and walk on the clouds. You can also walk on rainbows. Go left twice and you'll see the rabbit. He'll toss the nightmare chunk at the bros and leave. Brickle appears dressed as a carrot. He leaves when he finds out the rabbit's not there. Drop down.

Free Eldream from the nightmare chunk. He's incredibly thankful, although he almost gave up on the bros' generation. Eldream isn't surprised that Peach has been kidnapped. He figures she's in Dream's Deep. Eldream will help them out. He calls for Fluffykins, who turns out to be the rabbit. He's also called Dreambunny. Eldream and Dreambunny drill underground, opening a path to Dream's Deep. He leaves with the Dreambunny after saying the bros should jump into the light to save Peach.

Mario and Luigi: Dream Team -- Part 3: Park Service Boss

After saving three Pi'illos, the bros return above ground. Go south into Mushrise Park. Ahead, an accessory is laying on the ground. Its owner is a Shell Hutch salesperson. He says it's windy here and the wind scattered his merchandise. He's happy to take the bros' coin- er... questions. He offers the bros a Pi'illate, which restores all HP and BP. Go south again when you're ready.

Ahead is the entrance to Mushrise Park. There are large rocks all over the place that a nor'easter, a powerful gust of wind, blew. There's a Brock, Boss Brickle, trying to organize cleanup. Starlow asks if he's seen any pillows lying around. He says there are a bunch of them around the park and he happens to have one of them. It's what the bros are looking for. This upsets him and he takes off with it to the west. Before the bros can chase after him, a gust of wind blows through, knocking off the feather vanes of a windmill, which shuts off the water to the flowers, so they shrivel up. The bros can't chase him now. This makes a Brock start panicking. The windmills generate electricity to power the island. One feather hit somebody and the other landed on a rock. A nearby Brock was supposed to break that rock, but he misplaced his hammer. There are a couple of hammers nearby on a ledge the bros can't reach. To the right of the rock is a pillow.

It's windy in the dream world, as well. To the right are rolling rocks the bros must jump over. It's only a short distance before you find the one nightmare chunk in this area. Save the Pi'illo, who'll throw you on top of the tower behind him. Go to the left to get the hammers. They belong to the Brock. The bros try to return them, but he's already ordered a new one, so the bros can keep them. The hammers can break the rocks in the park if they strike the cracked side. Press [R], then (A) to swing the hammer. Break the rock nearby to retrieve a feather. Break the rock in the southwest corner to find the other feather. Talk to the panicking Brock to put the feathers back in place. Hit the switch on the fountain to get the water running and restore the flowers. Go due west.

Break the rocks. There are rocks on the path to the lookout, so clear them out. The Toad that wanted to go to the lookout will give you a 1-up Mushroom. Drop down to the ledge below and go west. There's a pillow there. The bros have to deal with more rolling rocks, but there's a spike ceiling. Break the rocks with the hammer, then free the Pi'illo. Break the blocks to the left for some item blocks, then go east at ground level. The Brock says the path to the south is full of enemies that moed in after the storm. Go that way anyway.

The bros find a Toad chased by a couple of spiky enemies called Thorbs. Time to stop them. Starlow provides instruction on how to battle using hammers: select the hammer block, charge up the attack until the last moment, when the hammer shines, then hit the bro's button to swing the hammer. To defend, raise the hammer by holding the bro's button well before the enemy attacks, then release the button to swing the hammer. Once the battle is over, the Toad gives the bros an Attack Piece he found in the park. There are 10 Attack Pieces to collect here. They appear in rainbow-colored blocks. The amount you've collected can be found in the Guide section of the menu. There are four in this area. There are platforms here called Slingshrooms, which will launch the bros to new heights and areas if they pound the platform with the hammer until it is level with the ground. You'll need them to reach the Attack Pieces. You won't be able to reach the one in the northeast corner just yet. There are more Thorbs in the area, so try using the hammer to get the first strike. Go south.

There are more Attack Pieces here. The Seesaw Mushrooms will allow you to reach some Attack Pieces. Hit the higher mushroom to lower it and raise the other. There are Capnaps in the area. They'll fall asleep before attacking, then sleepwalk towards the bros. Slam down the hammer to wake them up and they'll stop attacking. They'll also attack from the side, so jump on them or over them. Go to the right of the north Attack Piece, then follow the path up to a bridge. This will lead to a set of Seesaw Mushrooms and a Slingshroom, which will take you to another Slingshroom. This will launch back to the north to the Attack Piece you couldn't reach earlier. Take the nearby Slingshroom back. To reach the Attack Piece in the southeast corner, hit the same Slingshroom near the blue Seesaw Mushrooms twice instead of three times.  Nearby are two sets of Seesaw Mushrooms of different colors. Hitting one of them affects the other of the same color. Use them to go up higher and reach an Attack Piece. Go east.

There's a Brock ahead, who notices the many enemies in the area. He says Boss Brickle passed through, but he can't let the bros through due to the liability of the monsters. The Toad the bros saved earlier appears and gives them the last Attack Piece for a total of 10. Each set of Attack Pieces has 10 total that can be used to learn a powerful new move, called a Bros. Attack. This new one is called 3D Red Shell, which can only be initiated by Mario. The bros will kick a red shell at enemies and volley it as much as possible. At the end of the attack, one bro will kick it to the other, who'll kick it for a powerful attack at the enemy. Practice if you need to. An enemy approaches, which gives the bros the opportunity to try out the new attack. All Bros. Attacks cost BP. Syrup jars restore BP. Bros. Attacks can only be used when both Mario and Luigi can attack. Finish the enemies and continue to the east.

There are no enemies in the area, but the paths to the south and east are blocked. Head north, which is supposed to be windy. Boss Brickle is there, surprised the bros made it there. He's standing in a water fountain. He says they'll have to catch him to get the pillow. He tries to leave, but falls and gets stuck in the fountain, plugging it up, which makes the flowers wilt. The Toads on tour are unimpressed with the flowers, but are amazed with Boss Brickle "fixing" the fountain. One says he's never seen such plumbing skills back at home. Another tour guide mentions that the plumbing for everything is underground. There's a pipe in the northwest corner. Before the bros go through the pipe, unlock the gate to the north. To the right are new enemies called Flibbees. They're strong and will fly at the bros, sometimes looping in the air before attacking. Watch their eyes to see how many times they'll loop. Go north, then east to find more Seesaw Mushrooms. Hit them to form stairs, which will lead to an item block with Super Candy. Return, then go through the pipe.

The bros are under the park, near the fountain's water source. There are Flibbees down here and the décor is kind of spooky. Go to the right, around the water. Follow the path in a clockwise fashion. At level 8, the bros will rank up to Shell Rank. They'll get to choose one of the following bonuses: an additional gear slot, additional effect stock for badges, an extra +2 HP each time a bro levels up, extra +1 POW, +1 BP, 20% more EXP from battling, or reduces damage taken by 25%.The bros will never rank up enough to get all of the bonuses, so choose carefully. Ahead, when the path splits, take the path to the right. Hit the crack in the wall to break it, then jump up into that cavern. Go to the right to exit the cavern. You'll find the water pump here. Starlow thinks the bros can boost the pump's power and increase the water pressure. It works like a slot machine. Get three circles to increase the power. Hit the switch to stop a slot, moving from left to right. Get three circles for maximum pressure.

In the fountain, Boss Brickle is startled by something hitting him from below. The fountain explodes, watering the plants, and launching a chuck of the fountain far off the island. At Brickle's maintenance hut, a robot activates and starts watering some plants. The chunk of the fountain falls back to earth, landing on the robot, causing it to malfunction. Boss Brickle lands and is in pain. The bros and Starlow catch up to him. Boss Brickle is upset that the fountain exploded, but gets over it quickly. He already made another watering machine. He hands over the pillow, wondering what the bros need it for. He says they can use it in the maintenance hut. For helping him out, the bros get ten Attack Pieces. These will give you the attack 3D Green Shell, which can only be initiated by Luigi. It's otherwise the same as 3D Red Shell. Boss Brickle takes the pillow to the maintenance hut, which is to the east.

Something breaks and someone says, "NOOOOO!" Someone else asks if Boss Brickle is alive. Heal and save, then go down the steps. A Grobot is malfunctioning and it has Boss Brickle. The Grobot throws him into the ground. The bros go into battle. Use the newly acquired Bros. Attacks to finish off the enemy quickly. The Grobot will shoot water at the bros. Jump to dodge. Larger balls of water will bounce over the bros, so stay still. The Grobot will also ram into the bros. Counter with the hammer. After it takes enough damage, the Grobot will chase the bros. Jump to avoid the water it shoots. It will eventually run into a rock. Keep attacking until you defeat it.

The Grobot explodes. Boss Brickle is sad that his latest creation was destroyed. Mario thinks a fountain piece hit it. Brickle apologizes and hands over the pillow. There's a bed in the maintenance hut the bros can use.
