Mario and Luigi: Paper Jam -- Part 16: What the Ore is for

It's time to go after the Bowser Jrs. Go south and take the elevator back down. The Bowser Jrs. are here. Catch both of them without being spotted by minions. You can't be spotted once. Study the patterns of the Mechakoopas. If you want to go off to the sides, go to the right, as there is a spring platform there. Approach Bowser Jr. to catch him. Go east to find Paper Bowser Jr. You'll find more Mechakoopas and blue platforms moving over the lava. Once across the lava, you'll have to deal with Fly Guys. Dash to get past the long line of them. There are Bowser statues that will move in front of Mechakoopas, so be careful. Once past them, jump onto the blue platforms, then grab Paper Bowser Jr. Luigi retrieves a book from them, but it doesn't look like the book that contains Paper Mario's world. Starlow believes the Bowser Jrs. wouldn't give up the book so easily. They get up and take the elevator, saying the bros and Starlow can't boss them around. They say they're the bosses and Starlow's not even a miniboss.

Go back up the elevator and go north. The bros catch up the Bowser Jrs. They decide to fight this time. They'll each target a bro, then fly to them. Counter with the hammer to knock them out of the clown copters, then repeatedly counter until they get up. They then challenge Paper Mario to see who can fly the farthest. Starlow says to press (Y) when you're about to stop gliding, waiting until the last possible second. Winning will damage the Bowser Jrs. They'll place barrels on the bros' heads and fire at them with their clown copters. Jump to dodge, noting who is who. They'll also send a giant ball onto the battlefield. The bros will use Paper Mario as a trampoline. Press (Y) to bounce objects off Paper Mario. Move around so as to not step on Paper Bowser Jr. They will use this attack even if only Paper Mario is on the field, so leaving the battle to Paper Mario isn't an option here. Move around with the circle pad. The Bowser Jrs. can also heal each other. The Bowser Jrs. will hide in their clown copters if attacked, so some attacks, such as Fire Flower and Bomb Derby won't work. You must attack them from above or use Trio Attacks. When they get really low on health, they will attack multiple times.

After the battle, the Bowser Jrs. and the real book are lying on the ground and the door to the princesses opens. The Marios get a kiss from their respective princess. Luigi wants a kiss, but is ignored. Bowser Jr. wakes up, calling to his paper doppelganger. He flashes back to when he met Paper Bowser Jr. and thinks about him being locked away forever in the book. The Bowsers appear, angry at their sons for letting the princesses wander freely. They've made modifications to the castle. Starlow wants to grab the book, but it's too dangerous. Bowser roars at them for hurting Bowser Jr. He tells Kamek to fire the boosters. The castle starts shaking. Luigi looks around, but doesn't grab the book. The emblem on Bowser's Castle turns from green to red. The ore from Twinsy Tropics Dungeon is being used as fuel to lift the castle in the air. Multiple cannons appear on the castle. Bowser has created another Neo Bowser Castle. Bowser Jr. mentions the book. The Bowsers ignore them. Starlow suggests leaving the book and escaping, since the Bowsers don't seem to care about it.

Outside, it's very windy and the bros, Starlow, and the princesses fly off the castle. Starlow's barely hanging on with her teeth when Kamek attacks her with magic. They manage to dodge all of his attacks. Kamek compliments her teeth. Starlow comments on her dental hygiene, letting go of the castle. They all fly off, this not being the first time a compliment on Starlow's teeth leading to her undoing. Kamek repeats the compliment to himself, making it seem he was somewhat sincere.

On Sunbeam Plains, there's a delivery. He sees everyone fly overhead. They land far away, with Paper Mario carrying them as an airplane. The princesses return to the castle while Starlow wonders what Bowser plans to do with the castle. They need a plan to stop the Bowsers and get the book back. Head towards Peach's Castle and the ground starts shaking. Neo Bowser Castle appears in the sky, along with the Airships. The cannons fire and the cannonballs land near Peach's Castle. Inside, the Toads are panicking in the debris-littered castle. Bowser's taking his revenge on the bros for hurting Bowser Jr. A large cannonball takes off the top turret of Peach's Castle. Bowser credits his flying castle to the abducted, unpaid Toads. He thinks his plan to take over the Mushroom Kingdom is pretty solid. Paper Bowser reminds him this is a joint venture. Kamek reports that the bros should be finished. He also thinks Paper Bowser is useless to them now. Bowser agrees, saying he finds his paper double to be annoying. He concedes Paper Bowser is nearly as strong as him. Kamek has an idea involving the book. Paper Bowser and Paper Kamek have an identical conversation, which means it's likely a race for the book.

Mario and Luigi: Paper Jam -- Part 15: Save a New Girl in Pink. Save the Papercrafts.

The bros have reached the pipe the Koopas went through to haul papercrafts. Cross the bridge and a Papercraft Bullet Bill nearly drops on the players. The Kameks appear, along with Papercraft Dry Bones and Papercraft King Boo. Lemmy Koopa and Morton Koopa Jr. control Papercraft King Boo. The Kameks want to settle things and the Koopalings want to stomp the bros. Paper Kamek thinks Papercraft Boo is menacing, but Kamek doesn't think it's the most menacing papercraft ever. Papercraft Kamek is disappointed that they won't get to use it because the bros don't have a papercraft. He starts envisioning it, but Kamek says they've got one ready to go. It's Papercraft Yoshi. The Kameks fall to the ground. Paper Kamek wonders how they snuck it into Bowser's Castle. Toadette says she built it here just now.

Papercraft Yoshi can do a ground pound when (A) is pressed in midair. Use it to hit switches or stun enemies when you land near them. Use (B) to stick out Papercraft Yoshi's tongue to grab things and tow floating enemies. Defeat enemies to make poles appear so you can cross the lava. Use the Starman to clear out the Papercraft Goombas. Make your way around to the largest platform and cross the bridge. Papercraft King Boo appears. There will be three Papercraft Dry Bones that will get in your way, so get rid of them. Papercraft King Boo will ground pound the area. Move out of the way, then attack when it's off it's pedestal. When Papercraft King Boo is at half health, it will summon two more Papercraft Boos. Papercraft King Boo will do a rolling attack. Dodge it and attack.

After the battle, the Kameks thought that Papercraft Yoshi was so good, they've decided to kidnap Toadette. They're also going to build the best papercraft yet. Go north. The bros enter a long hallway. Flames appear from the floor, preventing the bros from going north. There are Paper Boomerang Bros here, which are particularly dangerous, because the boomerang they carry can be another Paper Boomerang Bro. Go west. There's a Fly Guy holding onto Toadette. He starts to fly away. The bros have to defeat him before he does. Use Trio Glide to cross the lava. Use the fan blocks to turn them on and off. Catch up to the Fly Guy and battle him. Toadette thanks the bros for saving her. She decides to return to Peach's Castle. She looked around the castle and thinks the princesses are on the top floor.

The Bowser Jrs. are bored guarding two cardboard princesses. Paper Bowser Jr. wants them to try to escape to give him something to do. He also wants them to say something different. He tries to tell them Mario's not going to save them. He slowly starts losing it and decides to go outside. Behind the cage, the princesses spy their moment to escape. They decide to leave through a window. Bowser Jr. is sleeping, wondering why it's so cold.

Luigi is worried about Toadette, but she says she can take care of herself, having tracked a treasure or two. Hit the nearby Bowser Block to make one of the eyes in the floor close. Go through the pipe, return to the long hallway, and go east. There's a long path with many fans blowing the bros off of it. Dash at an angle to make it across safely. When you loop around, Trio Glide to left. Hit the Bowser Block and ! Block. This will open the door and make the flames disappear. Return to the long hallway and go up the elevator.

The bros hear Peach's voice. The princesses are outside, on a different part of the castle. They head back. Walk forward. The door is open. The princesses meet the bros inside, but Paper Bowser Jr. grabs them in his clown copter. The Bowser Jrs. lock them behind a door, calling it a dirty trick for them to sneak out when he was sleeping. He's going to tell Bowser. Paper Bowser Jr. wonders if the bros are there for the book or the princesses, giving away the fact that they've been holding it all this time. Bowser Jr. thinks both, but says they're never giving back the book. The Bowser Jrs. realize the bros didn't know they had the book. Starlow wants both the book and the princesses back. They don't want to, so they split up and run away. Go east and west to get some items and coins. The door to the princesses won't budge, so leave them for now.

Mario and Luigi: Paper Jam -- Part 12: Papercraft Ice Capades

After you check out the shops, go to the Lakitu Info Center. Toadette meets the bros here. She'll be working on the next papercraft here while the bros rescue more Paper Toads. The first mission is Paper Toad Tailgate. A Sandmaargh will follow the bros. Jump after the icon blinks three times. Deliver the Paper Toads to the Lakitu. Just touch them to get them to join the group. Return to Lakitu when you have all 10. Paper Toad Flurry involves catching the Paper Toads before they hit the ground. Blue Toads fall faster than ones. Touch them to catch them. Jumping makes it easier. There are 40 Paper Toads, so stay alert. Paper Toad Peel-Off involves Drill Dashing into Paper Toads stuck to the wall. One is hiding behind a stone brick block to the far right. This must be some papercraft if Toadette needs this many Paper Toads. When all of the Paper Toads are saved, a delivery from Peach's Castle arrives. It's a new Trio Attack, Trio Whirligig. Toadette says she'll start working on the papercraft while the bros save the princesses and deal with the Bowser Jrs. A Lakitu goes on a delivery, so he stops blocking the other exit. A Paper Toad in the village wonders if there are two Luigis, since there are two Marios. We still haven't heard about Paper Luigi. Go through the east exit in the Lakitu Info Center. It will lead to a pipe.

The pipe leads to the part of the mountain with the puzzle. Go east. Cross to the right side of the area, then climb up the dirt wall. Keep climbing and you'll find a Lakitu. He says you can't cross the bridge ahead slowly. You'll need to jump at the end. Go east. There are some bean spots here. At the top of the stairs, someone tells Bowser Jr. to come along. The Kameks are telling the Bowser Jrs. to return to the villa. The Bowser Jrs. don't want to go back as they're playing with their papercraft and the Kameks told them to play here. Paper Kamek says the bros will be here any moment. Paper Bowser Jr. isn't scared of the bros, especially with their papercraft. The bros walk up and the Kameks notice. Paper Bowser Jr. wants to crush the bros with the papercraft, so some Koopas appear. Toadette appears with the newest papercraft: Papercraft Peach. It comes with its own parasol, so it can float gently to the ground. When you dash, the parasol opens up to deflect projectiles. It can fly farther with the parasol when tossed. Press (A) just before landing to deal extra damage.

There are Papercraft Mechakoopas here, as well as Papercraft Spikes. The battleground has spikes and large patches of ice, so be careful. The Papercraft Mechakoopas will just charge at you, but the Papercraft Spikes will toss spike balls at you. Deflect them by dashing. If the spike balls miss, they'll end up on the battlefield. Dash into them to hit other enemies. Clear out the enemies to make Papercraft Bowser Jr. appear. It's larger than Papercraft Peach and quite fast. It can easily cross over the spikes and will attack with red shells. Dash over the spikes to cross them without taking damage. Dash into Papercraft Bowser Jr. when it has its back turned and numbers appear to knock it off its pedestal. After Papercraft Bowser Jr. takes a lot of damage, it will fill in the spike pits with snow. Use spike balls to hit the papercraft more easily. It will start shooting multiple green shells. Do more damage and the Bowser Jrs. will complain their papercraft is getting scratched up. They'll drop bombs. Dash into them to send them back to Papercraft Bowser Jr. Keep attacking and keep healed to win. You may want to clear out the other enemies before dealing with Papercraft Bowser Jr., but it can generate more.

The Bowser Jrs. are upset that their papercraft was destroyed. They blame the Kameks for making it so flimsy. Kamek tried to warn them, but Bowser Jr. finds the advice less than helpful. All four leave for the castle. Walk to the east and you'll find a red disk with Bowser's emblem on it. The bros grab it. Starlow thinks it's familiar, so it might belong to in the Twinsy Tropic Dungeon. Peach screams nearby. Go east. The Bowser Jrs. are leaving and the Kameks are carrying the princesses on their brooms. The bros rush to save them, but Mario and Luigi fall off the cliff. Paper Mario jumps after them and makes a parachute for Mario. Luigi doesn't have anything, until Mario catches up with him. Starlow and Mario are impressed with Paper Mario, while Luigi's face down in the snow. Mario wants to try, but can't. Starlow doesn't know where the princesses are, but Mario thinks the red disk from before might be important. Suggest that they saw it in the Twinsy Tropics, in the dungeon, on a suspicious wall. Starlow thinks it may be the key to getting into Bowser's Castle.

Mario and Luigi: Paper Jam -- Part 11: Snow Drill

The bros find themselves on Mount Brrr. There are patches of ice the bros will spin across. There are Buzzy Beetles here. You can't hurt them when they're in their shell. Climb up the stairs to find a gap in the rocks. Send in Paper Mario for some items. Try to go east and the bros will hear something loud. Go east. When you try to cross a patch of dirt, the ground rumbles again. Starlow thinks it's coming from above.

On the summit, Big Bob-omb, along with Morton Koopa Jr., Iggy Koopa and Lemmy Koopa, tells minions to fire something. It's a cannon launching cardboard platforms. Another cannon launches paper minions. Some of the cardboard nearly lands on the bros. Unfortunately, the way ahead is now blocked. Paper Mario is inspired by some nearby cardboard. Press (A), (B), then (Y) to use the Trio Drill. Use it to tunnel underground. You can also tunnel under spots marked with "X" to get items like beans without having to pop up each time. Hold (Y) to do a Drill Dash. Use it on the rock under a cardboard platform to destroy it. Starlow notices the question mark on the platform the bros just Drill Dashed under. Trio Drill into it from above to get Heart Boots. Use the Trio Hammer so you can go east into a cave.

Inside the cave are more Buzzy Beetles. There are dirt walls in the cave, so use Drill Dash to climb them. Drill Dash repeatedly into cracked rocks to destroy them. Beware of the saws on the walls. Drill Dash to exit the walls. Higher up is a puzzle. There are spikes in the gaps between the walls to avoid. Move them around by Drill Dashing into the pink ! Block on the wall. There's a crack in the wall near it. Destroy it and move the pink ! Block to the lower position to move forward. There's another crack in the wall on the left side. Cross over to that side and go west.

The bros find themselves outside again. Someone says "Whoooooa." It's Bowser Jr., and he's higher up on the mountain. Paper Bowser Jr. is playing with the papercraft. Bowser Jr. leaves to play with it. Toadette appears, saying she knew there was a new one already. She says they need a new papercraft as well. She's got plenty of ideas, but not as many Paper Toads. She also needs a safe place to work. That cave to the east probably won't work. Luigi says there's no such thing as a safe place in this terrifying world. Toadette says she's heard of a Toad Village to the west, but it's much farther away than the bros anticipated. The path is also a puzzle. Once it is solved (and it can be solved), the bros will have a clear path to the village. Hop in the nearby pipe and hit the ! Block so you can return easily.

Drill up the wall and start breaking through the cracks. Toadette calls to them when they approach a puzzle, saying the bros are about halfway to the summit. Fiddle around with the puzzle contraptions to find a path to the village. The sign says to push the blue crescent and pink target stones into the corresponding slots. The stones can only move on the tracks. The blue crescent is close by. Drill Dash to move it up, left, up, left, down, right, then up. This makes corresponding platforms appear out of the mountain. Drop down to Toadette's level and go west. You'll find Bullies and Paper Sombrero Guys here. To reach the top of the middle area, go to the left and climb using the orange springs. Trio Grab to the other side. Go back east.

Hit the ! Block to make the rocks between the puzzles disappear, then go up to the puzzle. Move the pink target stone up, right, down, right, down, left, up, and left. This makes the corresponding platforms appear from the mountain. Go back east into the cave for a puzzle involving dodging saws in the walls. You'll find beans in the walls and get a Paper Speed Bracelet if you clear it. Back outside, take the dirt path as high as you can go to cross to the Toad. Go west into the Toad Village. A Toad welcomes them to the village. Starlow says they need a way to climb the mountain and deal with Bowser Jr., so they'll need to save more Paper Toads.

Mario and Luigi: Paper Jam -- Part 9: Feeding the Cleaning Beast

In Peach's Castle, the Toads say the situation is awful. A Toad spotted the Bowser Jrs. with the princesses on Mount Brrr. That's where Bowser's villa is. I thought he'd pick a more tropical place. At the villa, Bowser Jr. enjoys the view while Paper Bowser Jr. checks out the papercraft that looks like them. The princesses are cold and have no idea where they are. They have each other for company and warmth. They also wonder where the bros are. After a while, they start talking about their appearance. They want to change their hair, possibly going shorter, but someone talks them out of it. The reason being it's not princess-like, but clearly, these people have never met Daisy. Paper Peach suggests changing the dress, but Peach says it's her favorite. The minions watch them with curiosity. The princesses plan a fashion show after they escape to show off their new looks. The minions seem to be in love with the princesses.

Back in Peach's Castle, the Toads are imagining how things are going for the princesses. The bros set off for Mount Brrr, which is north of Gloomy Woods. Toadette says she'll prep a papercraft for the bros. One lone courageous Toad sets forth to help save the princesses. Head to Sunbeam Plains. At level 12, the bros will reach Boomerang Rank. Go as far north as possible, then east once. Use the Trio Grab to move to the north. You'll see Paper Petey Piranha chasing the brave Toad from before. Paper Petey Piranha tosses the Toad away. Paper Petey Piranha will take the Copy Block and make copies of himself. He'll then charge at the bros. Use the hammer to counter. If a copy is defeated, it will fall onto the ground. Two copies will jump into the air and land to create shockwaves. Jump to dodge. After a while, the copies will heal and reform the stack. At some point, all of the copies may be down. Attack the one that lifts its head periodically. They may then shuffle around. Keep track of them, as the real one won't lift its head anymore. When Paper Petey Piranha gets angry it will chase the bros. Remember the order each copy flies to which side, then Airplane Dodge as each copy appears on the ground. If they're not close to each other, a normal jump will suffice. If you're having difficulty keeping all three bros alive, just leave one down so this attack is easier to dodge.

After the battle, go north. There's a Toad Village, with Yoshis present. The Toads have seen a lot of Bowser's minions lately, some working on a gate. The red Toad House has a Toad with a quiz.
1. What does a Paratroopa become when it loses its wings? Choose Koopa.
2. How many fangs does Bowser Jr. have? One
3. Kamek's attacks take the shape of circle, square and what else? Triangle
4. What baddie is this? Hammer Bro
5. What hairstyle does Toadette have? Braids
For winning, you get 3 Speed Beans. When you're ready, go north.

Paper Kamek appears, saying he doesn't have time to deal with the bros. He turns his magic into cardboard to block the path. Walk to the west and you'll find a berry growing on a tree. Jump to grab it. Wiggler is nearby. It's hungry. Give it the berry. Apparently, Wiggler guards the forest, but couldn't because he was hungry. He plows through the cardboard. He blocks the path to the east. He's hungry again, and won't move until he's fed 10 more berries. Walk back to where you found the first berry and Trio Grab to cross the gap. Walk up the stump and cross to the other stump with (X). Use the Trio Hammer on the tree to make three berries drop. Walk around to the left and Trio Hammer the stump so you can reach the berry with Trio Grab. Go north. You'll find some Ninji hiding by the walls. If you hit them with one attack, they'll be able to dodge that same attack, so don't use jump attacks twice in a row on the same Ninji. Dash into the orange spring to the left to jump up to the next platform. There are Paper Spear Guys here. Go south.

On the tree, there's a Paratroopa with a berry. Bowser likes berries and the Paratroopa needs a promotion. Trio Grab it from it anyway. Return north. Use the orange spring to find more berries. Give the ten berries to Wiggler. Unfortunately, he's still too weak to move. It needs dessert. A Yoshi appears with a melon. Of course, Wiggler's favorite food is a melon. Follow the Yoshi and return to the village. The Yoshi is reluctant to give up the melon, but is willing to wager it as a prize in a race. A Lakitu will explain the races. It's a race around the village, where there are tree stumps, mud, and Dash Panels. You can't change directions after you've hit a Dash Panel. You must pass through the flag at the halfway point. Get too close to Yoshi and he'll ground pound you. You can avoid the shock by jumping. Use (X) to jump. Towards the end, move closer to the item shop so you'll hit the spring to jump over the mud. Yoshi reluctantly hands over the melon when you win. He says he has a faster pal in the mountains the bros should challenge. Wiggler enjoyed eating the melon and spitting out the seeds. Wiggler walks east and finds more cardboard. He plows through it with ease.

Go east and walk to the north. There's an electric fence that Wiggler can't get past. Wiggler notices a nearby Bomb Bud that could get rid of the gate. You can't grab the Bomb Bud from where you stand. Walk a little to the south and use the Trio Hammer on the draw bridge. Cross the bridge and Nabbit appears. Grab the Bomb Bud and throw it to the rock Nabbit's standing on. Nabbit falls into the water and the chunks of rock form a bridge. Nabbit jumps out of the water and leaves the Bomb Derby Bro attack behind. Walk across the rock bridge to find another Bomb Bud. Toss it onto the gate's generator by walking up the ramp and pressing (Y). The gate is no longer electrified and drops away. Wiggler goes north to clean up the ahead.

Mario and Luigi: Paper Jam -- Part 7: Breaking the Fourth Wall to Freedom

In Bowser's Castle, the Bowser Jrs. wonder what to do with the book. Bowser Jr. wants to throw it away. Paper Bowser Jr. agrees. Bowser Jr. has second thoughts after a while. He thinks it may come in handy. Perhaps they will terrorize the paper world. He wants to show it to Bowser. The Bowsers are pleased with Mario's destruction and Kamek says the plan involving the Toads working underground is proceeding nicely. Bowser Jr. tries to talk to Bowser, but Bowser talks to Paper Bowser Jr., thinking he's his son. The Bowsers are too busy to deal with their sons and tell them to stay on guard duty. They throw temper tantrums. Kamek suggests sending them to the villa. Paper Kamek says the papercraft should provide a diversion. Paper Bowser makes it sound like a surprise, so their sons agree to go to the villa.

Elsewhere, the princesses are plotting their escape. Paper Peach has a spare cardboard cutout of herself. She thinks Bowsers' sons won't notice. Peach is tired of getting kidnapped (and everyone else is tired of her getting kidnapped). Flying in the clown car isn't so bad, but can't stand saying "Save me, Mario" another time. Peach asks Paper Peach if she feels the same. The Bowser Jrs. say they're leaving for the villa and the princesses are coming with them.

The bros leave through the gate in Twinsy Tropics Dungeon. They're still in the dungeon, however. There are Paper Scaredy Rats here. There's some of that mysterious ore that the Toads keep mentioning. Use the Trio Hammer to break them. They may give you coins. Nearby, use the Trio Grab to grab the yellow platforms on the other side of the water to form a bridge. Go north and you'll find Bowser's emblem. Luigi finds it suspicious. He suggests they should remember this exact spot because this type of adventure has some sort of foreshadowing device. He's also worried about the abducted Toads. Mario thinks the wall is connected to Bowser's Castle, but Starlow's not sure how.

After the fourth wall is broken, walk to the left to find a couple of Toads carrying the ore near a conveyor belt. They toss it onto the conveyor belt and collapse. They say it's hard work and the ore is shipped directly to Bowser's Castle. They inform the bros there's a pipe past here, but it's guarded. Roy appears and tells the Toads to stop slacking off. He thinks the area's given up all its ore. He tells them they're not paying the Toads to chat, or at all for that matter. He leaves and the Toads say they're cheering for the bros. Go south. Use the Trio Grab to form more bridges near the circles in the ground.

Go west to find more prison cells. Behind the wall is a block. There's a Paper Goomba in a cell. It's the Paper Goomba the bros crumpled a couple of times earlier. After his defeat, he was deemed unfit as a minion according to management. He got demoted to janitor and is cleaning cells. It's all the bros' fault. He also accidently locked himself in the cell. The bros try to walk away, but ihe wants to escape and not work for Bowser anymore. He promises a reward and to forget what the bros did to him. He slides them a battle card set. In return, Paper Mario shows him how to flip sideways. Two Hammer Bros appear. The Paper Goomba runs off as the battle starts, but reappears to teach about battle cards. A new card will be dealt from your set each turn. Star Points are required to used the cards as indicated on each card. Battle to get more Star Points by filling the meter. Only 3 cards can be out at once. You can flip cards over if you don't want them to free up a slot. After the battle, the Paper Goomba will show you the battle card menu. To use a card, it must be registered to a set, which can have only 10 cards. Registered cards have a check mark on them. After the tutorial, the Paper Goomba leaves, saying perhaps they will meet again. In the left cell, there's a crack in the wall, but the Toad won't move, saying it's his ticket to freedom. Go south to form a bridge, return and go west.

There are more enemies and ore here. Form the bridge and go west. Starlow spies a pipe ahead. Walk to the south to form more bridges. One requires going under a stone bridge to reach it. Walk up to the pipe and Roy and Wendy drop in. She says they could've stayed in their cell, but were inconsiderate for making them chase them. Roy calls for Larry, but he doesn't appear. Roy thinks he may be playing videogames. Wendy will toss rings for the bros to dodge. Roy tosses rocks. Successfully counter and the rock will hit Wendy. She will then attack Roy. They can also team up to launch their shells. Counter with the hammer. After a while, the two will get angry and chase the bros. Wendy will breathe fire to take out Paper Mario, so be sure to dodge. Use the Airplane Dodge to dodge the giant ball Roy throws. If Roy holds a rock over his head without attacking, attack to make him drop it. Keep yourself healed. If you defeat Wendy first, Roy will attack with magic. A giant ball of magic will fall on a bro. Counter with the hammer.

Wendy blames their defeat on Larry's absence. The two leave, and before the bros can make their escape, the Toads stampede to freedom. Before the bros do the same, we backtrack to the cell with the crack. Send Paper Mario to the block behind the wall for some 1-up Mushrooms. Take the pipe out of this depressing place.

Mario and Luigi: Paper Jam -- Part 6: Reaching for Freedom

The new and improved papercraft is Papercraft Luigi. It's holding a hammer. There are Papercraft Pokeys on the battlefield, as well as Papercraft Goombas. Papercraft Luigi's flying hammer attack (the throw attack) is needed to defeat these spikey enemies. Charge up the Toads again, but the rhythm is different. Clear the field to make Papercraft Kamek appear. The Kameks use magic to surround Papercraft Kamek with a barrier and make more brick blocks appear. Use the flying hammer attack to hit it. Papercraft Kamek can warp around the battlefield, so don's expect it to stay put for long. It can also expand its barrier to cause damage. After it has half of its health, the barrier will disappear and it will shoot magic. Counter the attack with the flying hammer attack. Keep attacking and keep your papercraft healed with Mushrooms from the item blocks.

After Papercraft Kamek is defeated, Kamek says they could've won if it wasn't so ugly. They retreat to come up with a new strategy. Approach the bridge to Bowser's Castle and something appears in the sky. It's a giant cannonball with Bowser's emblem on it. It destroys the bridge. Bowser wants a damage report from within his castle. He was aiming for Mario and wonders if his minions do anything correctly. He apparently has planned for their ineptitude and tells them to keep firing, as they have enough cannonballs to compensate for their terrible aim. The next one nearly hits them and knocks them away. Roy Koopa, Ludwig von Koopa, Wendy O. Koopa, and Larry Koopa appear. Ludwig says they have to take the bros to the secure location. Roy summons a pickup from some Chargin' Chucks. In the process, the book falls out of Luigi's hands. The Koopalings are about to walk away when Roy wonders why there aren't paper versions of them. Wendy thinks their paper versions are doing important things in their world. She also thinks they don't need their help. She leaves and Roy spots the book. He thinks books are dumb, so he decides to throw it away when the Bowser Jrs. appear. Bowser Jr. says he'll tell his dad if Roy throws his book away. Bowser Jr. picks it up.

In the secure location, the Mario Bros are tied up and Paper Mario is tied up in a roll. Paper Mario stands up and rolls himself up tighter so the ropes fall away. He frees and wakes up the bros. Starlow wonders how they'll escape the cell and Paper Mario slips through the door's bars. He hits the lock with his hammer to open the cell door. The bros leave the cell and Luigi starts checking for something. Mario explains the book containing the Paper Mushroom Kingdom is gone. Luigi mopes around for a while. Starlow tries to make him feel better, but then makes it worse. Paper Mario suggests they look for it after they defeat Bowser. Paper Mario folds himself into a hankerchief, then wrings himself out after Luigi dries his eyes. Starlow suggests exploring to figure out where they are. There are a couple of cells in the area. Send Paper Mario into the one with the Toad, who says they're in the Twinsy Tropics Dungeon. A nice paradise having a dungeon is creepy. He says the minions are talking of harvesting something from here. Go east, as you can't get far going west.

There's not much here except some item blocks with coins. Go east. There are more cells here. The blue Toad explains that Bowser's after an ore only found here. The yellow Toad says they are used to haul the ore to Bowser's Castle. Try to go east and a Hammer Bro notices they're trying to escape. More Hammer Bros appear. The bros want to fight, but the Hammer Bros say they'll find battle difficult without their Command Blocks. They can't attack, use Bro or Trio Attacks, flee, or use items. The bros will have to fight for their Command Blocks back. They leave to go on patrol. Getting their Command Blocks back is the bros' next challenge.

Find a Hammer Bro and engage it. You can't attack, so all you can do is counterattack. They'll throw three hammers, then charge. Jump to dodge the hammers, except the ones that are thrown high in the air, then jump to counter. The first Command Block you'll retrieve is the flee one. You can press [R] to idle, which is a problem when your [R] button is broken. You'll then recover Drill Shell and Rocket Blast, then hammer, Trio Kite, then everything else. Go east. There are a few Hammer Bros here. The sign says the bridge is old and rickety. There's also a key to the gate on the other side. Walk under the bridge and up the ramp to reach the bridge. The bros are initially cautious about crossing, but then start jumping lightly and the bridge collapses. The bros form their own bridge using themselves and inch their way back up. Luigi gets an idea. It's the Trio Grab. Like the Trio Hammer, press (A), (B), and (Y) in order, which allows the bros to form a chain to reach things. Unlock the door and Starlow suggests they go outside to see what the Bowsers have done to the Mushroom Kingdom. She also says they should look out for the book, as it would be terrible if it fell into the wrong hands (too late for that), and they have to save the princesses. Being a hero requires a lot of multitasking.

Mario and Luigi: Paper Jam -- Part 4: Nabbing the Prize

Now that the papercraft battle is over, head east to Doop Doop Dunes. Starlow spies Bowser's Castle in the distance. Inside, a Hammer Bro asks a Paper Hammer Bro how a paper hammer does damage. The Paper Hammer Bro offers to try it out on him. The other minions are meeting their paper counterparts. The Magikoopa and Paper Magikoopa assemble the minions into a truly massive army. They give their battle cries while Bowser Jr. complains of boredom. Paper Bowser Jr. shares his sentiments. He says they'll get a reward for watching the princesses, but it's boring. Bowser Jr. asks where his paper counterpart is from. He says he and his dad flew out of the same book. Bowser Jr. wonders if Paper Bowser Jr. would have to go home if they found the book. He thinks that is likely. Bowser Jr. wants to keep hanging out to stave off the boredom. Paper Bowser Jr. has a solution: destroy the book. Bowser Jr. thinks their dads would like the idea as well, but neither know where the book is.

In the cage nearby, Peach wonders if there's a way out. Paper Peach slips through the bars with ease. Bowser Jr. wants to find the book once they're done watching the princesses. Meanwhile, the Bowsers appear in front of their armies, saying they're unstoppable. Paper Bowser wants to be in front. Bowser's plotting domination of the Mushroom Kingdom.

Back in Doop Doop Dunes, Luigi spies Nabbit. Dash to chase after him. While dashing, the bros can jump simultaneously with (X). Nabbit dodges twice, but drops the Drill Shell Bros. Attack. Starlow suggests chasing Nabbit for more Bros. Attacks. Chase after him into the next area and the Magikoopas will drop cardboard platforms to block your path. They doubt the bros will reach Bowser's Castle. There are Spinies in the desert. Use hammer, Bros, and Trio attacks to defeat them. Mario made it to level 6 and ranked up to Shell Rank. There are bonuses you earn with each increase in rank, but some may only be equipped by one bro, such as an increase in stat. Go to the northwest side of the area to find a gap. Send Paper Mario in a few times for some helpful items. Reach the higher ledges in the area using the cardboard platforms and you'll reach a red switch. Hit it to make a platform rise up so you can reach a higher platform.

Walk around and you'll find another switch. When you try to hit it, Nabbit will come out of hiding and steal all of the bros' hammers. Chase him down by dashing, but he'll toss spike balls you'll have to avoid. Slide into him to get back a hammer. Do this twice more to get all three hammers back. You'll also get a new Bros. Attack: Rocket Blast. Nabbit runs off to the south. Hit the switch so you can follow him. Bowser's Castle is due east of here. Near the slight hill with the many coins, you'll find Nabbit. Chase him up the sand flow and something drops from the sky. It's a Pokey and a Paper Pokey that looks like Tower Power Pokey. They knock the cardboard loose from the sand flow and send the bros flying.

Starlow says they have to go back to where they came from, but hit the giant stone block can't be broken by Mario's hammer. Luigi and Paper Mario join in to no avail. Paper Mario gets an idea. The bros must use the Trio Hammer by pressing (A), (B), (Y), in order. Stand next to the block and execute Trio Hammer to break it. Starlow thinks the move can be used to flip things over. Break the blocks in the area and walk across the bridge to the right. The Pokeys will knock into the bridge, sending the bros plummeting. They land in Doop Doop Dunes Grotto. The Pokeys are standing nearby and won't let the bros pass without a fight. The bros will need a way to jump really high.

Mario and Luigi: Paper Jam -- Part 1: Slippery Toads

Now that the Paper Toads in the castle have been found, it's time to go outside and try to find more of them. After you exit the throne room, go to the room to the west. A Toad yells for someone to stop. It's Nabbit. He runs off, dropping a few items on the way. The Toads say he stole a bunch of Bros. Attacks. Without them, they predict doom. Luigi says they'll take the two that were left behind. They are 3D Red Shell and Fire Flower. The Toads ask the bros to get the Bros. Attacks back from Nabbit. The blocks in the room contain coins. The back door leads to the workshop where the Paper Toads are resting. Check out the door and you'll hear them say if there were more of them, they could build something.

Back in the lobby, there's a Toad carrying a sack. He's got a Mushroom delivery route, but he's short one regular Mushroom. Mario offers one up. In return, he gives the bros a 1-up Mushroom. East of the lobby are some shops. The gear's not that great at this point. Towards the southern part of the lobby is Toadette with a Mario doll. She tosses it up in the air. She says it's very versatile. She says she'll make a life-size papercraft doll for the bros later. Someone tells the bros to wait. Some Paper Toads appear and give the bros the Copy Block. They made it out of the stuff in the workshop. They'll going to make more things while the bros go on their adventure. Toadette decides to help them out. One of the Toads by the exit says the arrow will guide the bros if they don't know where to go next.

Outside, cross the moat and you'll see a Lakitu and a rainbow-colored block that restores all HP and BP. The Lakitu was charged by the princess to take notes on the bros, look out for them, and offer assistance. He also reminds the bros to save often. Exit to the east to Sunbeam Plains. Someone notices Mario. Two Paper Goombas appear and notice Mario looks different. Mario, Luigi, and Starlow take an interest in the Paper Goomba and end up crumpling him. He restores himself, but still has a large crease. They're ready to battle.

It's time for the first battle and the battle music is a remix of that from Superstar Saga. Starlow directs the bros' attention to the Battle Guide. These Paper Goombas are level 2. If you execute an attack properly, you may crumple paper enemies. The battle should be pretty simple. Once the battle is over, the Paper Goombas threaten to come back with reinforcements. Starlow reminds them that if Bowser and Paper Bowser team up, things won't be so easy.

Meanwhile, in Bowser's Castle, a magikoopa tells Bowser the plan is going along. Bowser wants things done faster. He wants to get rid of Mario, so he has his minions hunt them down. The magikoopa would like it if Bowser used some manners. A voice behind the magikoopa asks where he is. The magikoopa thinks Bowser has taken up ventriloquism. He looks behind him and sees Paper Bowser. Paper Bowser walks up to Bowser and they both ask who the other is. Bowser wants Paper Bowser out, calling him a flimsy knockoff. Paper Bowser calls Bowser the knockoff. Bowser threatens physical violence, instead of using his flame breath, which would likely be more effective. They get in each other's faces and start fighting. A Goomba appears and they stop fighting, but Paper Bowser is crumpled. He apologizes for interrupting and they get back to fighting. The Goomba explains that Paper Toads and paper minions are raining all over the Mushroom Kingdom. The magikoopa says he's heard of a book that contains a parallel world. He thought it was merely a legend, but now knows it's real. A familiar voice calls someone a copycat. Bowser Jr. has met his paper counterpart. Bowser Jr. checks him out, saying it's like looking in a funhouse mirror. He says it's been boring lately. Paper Bowser Jr. introduces himself and Bowser Jr. wants to get the party started. The whole situation is making the magikoopa's head hurt. Bowser uses his fire breath and the fighting continues. The magikoopa calls for help and gets dragged into the fight.

Back outside, Starlow's getting a shivery feeling. She suggests they rescue the Paper Toads. On the nearby ledge is a tri-colored block. It has only coins this time. The path to the north is blocked by a gate. Hit the red and green blocks to the right on the hill to make it drop. There's an island to the southeast, but no way to reach it and a spring platform nearby is out of commission. Go north and you'll find more Goombas, who say this Mario looks like the real one. Sounds like Paper Mario may be nearby. The other Goomba called the flatter Mario real, even though it's weird he floated down from the sky. Either way, it's battle time! Starlow mentions a little circle may appear around the bros' feet when enemies attack. If the circles are dashes, either bro could be attacked. You can turn the Assist feature on and off to let you know which bro will be attacked. These Goombas are level 2. An Expert Challenge appears. This one is "Just Getting Started". The points you get from clearing challenges can be exchanged for gear in the gear shop. Battle all the enemies and the bros should level up. It looks like you must gain five levels to rank up. This time around, you can't select a stat to give bonus points to. Go north.

To the left is a Paper Toad, who says his friends were abducted by weird-looking versions of Bowser's minions. His surroundings are more vivid than normal, so he thinks he's dreaming. Starlow greets him and he freaks out, then runs away incredibly quickly. Starlow suggests they catch him. He runs off when they approach and they lose sight of him. They decide to move forward and they may find him again. Go up the hills and you'll find the east exit. There's a purple block that challenges the bros to volley the block back and forth for coins. There's a heal block near the exit. Go east.

A green Paper Toad asks if anyone can hear him. Starlow wants to talk to him, but he's freaked out by a Goomba. He slips through a narrow gap in some rocks and runs off. The Goomba gives up, Luigi tries to squeeze through, but gets stuck. Exit to the east and you'll find numerous Paper Goombas, including the one the bros creased earlier. It took him a while to iron out the creases in his face. He and his friends activate Super Goomba Super Wheel. One notices they said "super" twice. The battle starts and they form a wheel. They chase the bros. Press (A) and (B) repeatedly to run out of the way. They escape, but the wheel comes back and runs them over, defeated them. The Paper Goombas bet the bros didn't think they could do something that cool. Starlow tells them to get back up. The Paper Goombas says their weakest teammate is a million times stronger than the bros. They think they should report back to Paper Bowser. As they're about to leave, Paper Mario floats in and grabs them. They can't see where they're going, so they run around to shake him off. Starlow freaks out. The Paper Goombas threaten to flatten Paper Mario flatter than he already is. They try to stomp him, but he punches them away. They're surprised it's actually Paper Mario. They prepare the ultra special stomper-roller thingy, muttering under their breath that they should have agreed upon a name ahead of time. They form the wheel again and target Paper Mario. Starlow halts the attack and explains that the bros need his help. Paper Mario demonstrates that by holding (Y), he can jump very high. Use it to dodge or counter the wheel. Starlow hands over the Copy Block. Hit the block with (Y) to make multiple copies of him, six to be exact. The Paper Goombas are upset because stacking was their idea. Paper Mario can make copies anytime he pleases, but it will cost a turn. On the bright side, the copies will take damage for Paper Mario, but aren't as strong as him. If he takes damage, he'll lose at least one copy. Not sure how Starlow knew all this, but it sounds like an awesome ability. When Paper Mario uses a Jump attack, each copy will do an attack, so press (Y) for each one. When using the hammer, all copies must have their hammer raised high for an Excellent attack.

After the battle ends, the Paper Goomba says it's just his luck that there are two Marios. They haven't seen the last of him, however. He runs off and Luigi gives Paper Mario a hug that crumples him a little. He flattens himself out and looks at Luigi, but Starlow corrects him. This is not Paper Luigi, who still hasn't made an appearance. Starlow draws Paper Mario's attention to Mario and they copy each other's moves. Starlow thinks to call him Paper Mario. She explains that there are two Bowsers in this world. Paper Mario agrees to help in his silent way. The team is now a trio. Paper Mario jumps with (Y). Now that he's joined the team, we can track down that Paper Toad that slipped between the rocks.

New Super Luigi U: Peach's Castle- Castle 2 -- The Final Battle

Bowser Jr. will chase you through the first part of the castle in his Clown Copter. He'll slam into the yellow platforms, which will make them drop into the lava. Grab the Red Coins if you like. The first Star Coin is surrounded by brick blocks. Lure Bowser Jr. to the area and let him slam the bricks so you can reach the Star Coin. The second Star Coin is under some item blocks that all contain 1-ups. Let Bowser Jr. pound the item blocks, then drop down to get the Star Coin. The third Star Coin is on a yellow platform. The door at the end takes you to the Bowser door, which adds 250 seconds to your time.

Past the Bowser door, you have to dodge Bowser's fireballs. At the end of the hallway is Bowser. Dodge his flames and run past him when he jumps so you can hit the switch. The floor will give out and he'll fall. Bowser Jr. has Kamek use his magic. Luigi goes to the top of the castle and finds Peach trapped in a tower. She calls to him before the window closes and a giant Bowser appears, along with Bowser Jr. in the Clown Copter. Stomp Bowser Jr. to kick him out of the Clown Copter and steal it. Use (B) to gain altitude, then [ZR] to ground pound Bowser. He'll go into a shell cycle and bounce around. Once he's done with that, he'll breathe fire that rains down. Use the opportunity to steal the Clown Copter again. Three hits will defeat Bowser. He falls and Bowser Jr. jumps off the castle.

Luigi goes to where Peach is. She kisses his hat. The tornado around the castle clears. The Koopalings and Bowser Jr. pack up and leave in an Airship, which Bowser drags down. They all trail from the Clown Copter until it crashes. Peach, Luigi, and the Toads cheer. The credits roll. You can collect coins in the bubbles.

For completing the game, you get a star on your file. You also get a star for clearing all of the courses through Peach's Castle, and another one for all of the Star Coins through Peach's Castle. You now have access to the Secret Island and Superstar Road.

New Super Luigi U: Meringue Clouds- Airship -- Bowser Jr. Showdown

For this level, Luigi rides alongside the Airship on a moving cloud, meaning this level automatically scrolls. There are brick blocks in the way and the Para Bob-ombs can help clear the path and get in your way. Also getting in your way is the Airship's giant fist that will crash down periodically. Lead it to where you want it to punch through so you can get stuff and dodge it. The first Star Coin is surrounded by brick blocks. Let the Airship's fist punch through the blocks so you do not have to deal with Bob-ombs. The second Star Coin is in the clouds near the moving brick blocks where cannons that spew Bob-ombs. Get the Red Coins if you like, then go through the pipe. The pipe is a cannon that launches you aboard the Airship. There's a POW Block by the cannons. Hit it from below to make the third Star Coin drop down. At the end is a pipe and a crate. Pound the crate for an Acorn. The pipe will take you to Bowser Jr.

This battle hasn't changed from New Super Mario Bros. U. Bowser Jr. will fly around in his Clown Copter and will punch the floor and toss out Bob-ombs. When an arm punches the ground and stays there for a while, quickly run up the arm and stomp Bowser Jr. Do this three times. You can also stomp him when he's trying to punch the ground repeatedly. Once you win, the Airship crashes and Peach calls for Luigi. A bridge to the castle appears. You now have all of the Star Coins in Meringue Clouds.

New Super Luigi U: Soda Jungle- Airship -- All Aboard!

This Airship is special, because Luigi's on the stern. Jump to spin the nuts and bolts to cross gaps. There are Fire Bros, Ice Bros, Sumo Bros, and Boomerang Bros on board, as well as Mechakoopas. Defeat the first Fire Bro and run past it to find the first Star Coin. The second Star Coin is behind the second Sumo Bro on a lower part of the Airship. Blocks will appear so you can keep going. Ahead, you'll see some crates. Pound the first one for the third Star Coin. Go past the Hammer Bro near the water and you'll see the pipe. Take the pipe to the room filled with water. Bowser Jr. is here in a Clown Submarine. It fires homing Torpedo Teds. Lure the Torpedo Teds into the submarine three times. After each hit, regular Torpedo Teds will cross the screen. Once you win, the water drains and Luigi dodges the Airship's mechanical hand. The Airship flies off and you can continue further into the Soda Jungle.

New Super Mario Bros. U: Peach's Castle- Castle 2 -- The Final Battle

At last, it is time to face Bowser. It's a long way to reach him, and we have to deal with Bowser Jr. on the way. He'll follow you around in his Clown Copter, trying to pound you into the ground. You can't beat him, so try to ignore him and lead him to parts of the level you don't mind him crashing into. The first type of floor you come across will ripple in shockwaves when he slams it. This won't hurt you, but it will push you around. The first Star Coin is in a gap. Wall jump to get it. Next are some yellow platforms. If he slams a platform, it will drop into the lava, and regenerate a while later. Lead him to the platforms you don't mind him destroying and get out of the way. The second Star Coin is surrounded by brick blocks with coins, so ground pounding won't work. Lure Bowser Jr. over the blocks and have him destroy them so you can get the Star Coin. Keep going and you'll see the third Star Coin. Run an wall jump to get it. There's a door at the end that leads to the midpoint and the boss door.

We have to dodge fireballs until we reach Bowser. Bowser will breathe fire at you. Be ready for when he jumps so you can run under him and hit the ! Switch with the ax to make the floor disappear. He'll fall and crash. A door will rise and Mario will run outside. Bowser Jr. drags Kamek in and he uses his magic on where Bowser fell. We can see Peach in the center tower. She calls to Mario and the windows are barred and shut. Bowser Jr. brings up a giant Bowser and round two begins, with Bowser Jr. also in the fight. Bowser breathes giant fireballs and Bowser Jr. throws out Bob-ombs. When you get the chance, hit Bowser Jr. when he's low to the ground to kick him out of the Clown Copter. Hop in the Clown Copter to steal it and press (B) repeatedly to rise. Fly over Bowser and ground pound him for a hit. Bowser will go into a shell cycle in his giant shell, bouncing around. Bowser Jr. will reclaim the Clown Copter at this time, so go steal it again. Once Bowser gets out of the shell cycle, meteors will rain down. Pound him two more times for victory. Bowser roars and falls off the castle. Bowser Jr. watches, gets scared, and jumps off as well. A fanfare plays.

Mario runs to Peach, who thanks him and kisses him on the hat. Mario says, "Oh, boy, yeah!" The purple tornado surrounding Peach's Castle clears and the Koopalings retreat in an Airship. Bowser jumps aboard and the Airship crashes. All of them end up flying off dangling from the tiny Clown Copter. Peach, Mario, Luigi, and the Toads watch from the castle as fireworks light up the sky. Roll credits!

The credits are interactive. There are two Baby Blue Yoshis, one on each side, that blow bubbles with coins, some of which have three coins. Collect as many as you can during the credits. I got 292.

After all that, we get a lot of messages:
"Congratulations on completing the game! A star has been added to your save file! You can now save anytime from the menu!"
"You can now use the pipes to get to a secret island! Hop in a pipe and check it out!"
"You can now use the pipes to get to Superstar Road. By the way, have you found all the Star Coins yet?"
"You've collected all the Star Coins in Peach's Castle! That's gotta mean something good, right?"
"You've cleared all courses through Peach's Castle! Congratulations! A second star has been added to your file!"
"You've collected all the Star Coins up through Peach's Castle! A third star has been added to your file!"

And with that, we have defeated Bowser and saved the princess yet again. But, wait, there's more! A new challenge for super players.

New Super Mario Bros. U: Meringue Clouds- Airship -- Boarding the Airship

When you approach Peach's Castle from outside the tornado, Bowser's Airship appears and tries to pick up Mario. The level starts outside the Airship. The level automatically sidescrolls. Grab the Acorn Mushroom and go to the right, where the hand from the Airship will try to pound you into the ground. You can dodge the hand in some alcoves. After a point, the hand will try to punch Mario into the ground, destroying the ground in the process. You can guide the hand to where you want it to go and get out of the way. The first Star Coin is under a ledge. Get it quickly before the hand can get you. The midpoint is soon after. You'll soon board the Airship, which has several Rocky Wrenches. There's a tilting platform that moves on a path. Tilt the controller in the direction you'd like to go. The second Star Coin is close by over some jet engines, some of which can rotate. Next is a Green Ring. The third Star Coin is near a Rocky Wrench. Fly up to get it. Soon after is the pipe to another midpoint. Pound the crate for a Fire Flower. The pipe is a cannon that will take you to Bowser Jr.

Bowser Jr. is in the Clown Copter, which has boxing gloves. He'll swoop down and use the gloves to break up the floor, which will regenerate. He'll also drop some Bob-ombs. Periodically, he'll extend the punching gloves to the floor and let Bob-ombs walk down it. You can walk up the arms and either throw a Bob-omb at him or stomp him. Three hits will defeat him. The floor drops out and Mario falls to the Airship. Bowser Jr. commands the Airship's hand to pound Mario, but he dodges and the hand punches through the Airship. The Airship explodes and crashes near the tornado. Bowser Jr. gets upset and flies into the tornado. We follow him into the area of Peach's Castle. We now have all Star Coins in Meringue Clouds.

New Super Mario Bros. U: Soda Jungle- Airship -- The Mighty Cannonship

Once you leave either Frosted Glacier or Sparkling Waters for the first time after clearing the castle, you'll come across this lone spot where the Bowser Airship flies in and picks up Mario. There are Mecha Koopas on board. Cannons fire cannonballs at you while the level automatically sidescrolls. There are screws you'll have to jump on repeatedly to make them move. There are stacks of crates you can pound, and if you quickly go down a rope ladder, you'll find the first Star Coin. After the first Star Coin is a Red Coin Ring, as well as another screw. Bounce off of a cannonball to reach the second Star Coin high in the air. Past the midpoint is a red pipe that takes you underwater, where you'll find Mecha Cheep-Cheep and red, homing Torpedo Teds. The third Star Coin is surrounded by brick blocks, so either be at least Super Mario to break the bricks, or let Torpedo Ted break them for you. Go down the red pipe that the sign with the arrow is pointing to, and that leads you to a room with Bowser Jr. in a Clown Submarine. The room fills with water and Bowser Jr. fires red Torpedo Teds at you. Lead the Torpedo Teds into the submarine for a hit. Bowser Jr. will then send a wave of regular Torpedo Teds at you from the sides, so stay out of their way. After hitting him a second time, the regular Torpedo Teds will appear from the floor and ceiling. After the third hit, the water drains from the room. Bowser Jr. hops into the Clown Copter and the Airship's hand appears to swipe Mario away. Mario dodges the hand and leaves the Airship, watching it fly away. We can now save our game. This opens the path to Soda Jungle-1.

Paper Mario: Sticker Star -- 6-2 Bowser Jr.'s Flotilla

Banzai Bills buzz by. An Airship appears commanded by Bowser Jr., who's been waiting. There's a comet piece on deck.

There's a Save Block on deck. Rocky Wrenches are also on board. We can only hit them when they're peeking out. Some of them will drop Wrenches. Go inside, where there's a Shiny Goomba and an Ice Bro. There's a door drawn on the back wall. The Secret Door leads to the Megaflash Jump. Go downstairs and you'll find a lot of Bob-ombs and Hammer Bros.

Go downstairs and you'll see spinning gears. Climb on the crates and peel the Bowser tape to move the pipe to the outside. Go outside, but beware the Bill Blaster. There's nothing to see here, so go back upstairs. From there, go outside. The pipe you moved outside fills in the gap and allows you to dodge Bullet Bills. Go inside and dodge the Banzai Bills. We can peel the Banzai Blaster and reverse it, so it fires Banzail Bills into the Airship. This clears a path to the stern of the Airship. Go upstairs from the stern of the Airship.

The stairs lead to the Hammer Bros. Go upstairs to the captain's quarters. There's a Boomerang Bro and a Fire Bro, accompanied by Broozers in battle. The Broozers drop barrels after battle. The door leads to the top deck, with more Rocky Wrenches and sliding crates. Up the stairs is a Heart Block. Use the green crate to reach the back rail so you can jump on the moving crates. On the other side of the ship, Bowser Jr. is waiting for us.

This time, Bowser Jr. added a defense shield to the Clown Copter. He's got 300 HP. We get to use three stickers from the Battle Spin. The Clown Copter will breathe fire, spit spike balls, and ram you multiple times per turn. When he's under 200 HP, the defense shield will start cracking. Tail stickers are very effective here, as swinging back a spike ball will do 50 damage. Once his HP is under 100, the shield is gone. He is easily defeated. His Clown Copter explodes, sending him flying into the clouds. The comet piece opens the path to 6-3.

Paper Mario: Sticker Star -- 4-1 Snow Rise

It's a winter wonderland here. Snow covers the ground, the stickers are shiny, and so are the enemies. There are two paths in the first area, but we can only reach one right now. The other path leads to what looks like a giant ice cream cone. Stick a Fire Flower over it to make the snow melt and reveal a scrap. In the next area, there's a snow slide where Cooligans slide. Don't stand in their way, or you'll take damage. Move on to the next area.

Hit the large snowballs with your Hammer to break them. Be careful walking up the ramps, as snowballs will roll down from Snow Spikes and hurt you. Follow the coin trail down the ramp to the right to find where the scrap in the first area is supposed to go. At the top, you can see the comet piece in the distance. To the left are a Heart Block and a Save Block. We go back to the first area using the higher paths to get the "Pipe in a Cave" scrap. We replace it and go through the tunnel at the top of the hill.

There are steps to the top of the hill, where we can see a thing in the background, which looks like a Goat. We hit the tree and a rosy spotlight shines on the Goat and something drops down from the sky. It's a swing, and Birdo slides down to swing on it. "Heart of a woman, heart of a man... Both can know of love's grace... Just try not to get egg on your face..." The last swing brings the Goat over to us. We go back the way we came, just more confused.

Go down the ramp to the right and stand on the mound of snow above the cave to drop down. The pipe takes us into the background, where the comet piece awaits. This opens the path to 4-5. There's a secret exit I'm going to find before we move on.

I need to return to Decalburg, but as soon as I get the boat moving, Bowser Jr. appears. He says, "TA-DAAAAH! Hey, long time, no see, Mario! Aren't you looking chipper. Sniff sniff snoooooooffffff... Mmm... And you've got an even rarer sticker than last time, don't ya? Yeah, well, that is REALLY ANNOYING! Give it, give it, GIVE IT NOW!" Battle time. He has 100 HP this time. He doesn't  heal every turn. He'll attack with the Clown Copter and sometimes pull out Bob-ombs. Don't jump on him when he has them. It's not too difficult to beat him. He says, "Dang! You're nothing but a big bully! I'm telling my dad on you! And my dad is SOOOO shiny right now! He's way way, stronger than the both of you combined! Better be ready to cry a lot!" He flies off.

We return to the top part of the second area, where the Cooligans slide. There's some bricks on the right side. Place the Radiator sticker here. It melts the snow, giving us access to another cave. The slide says to beware of wild Cooligans. Now that there's no snow, we have nothing to worry about. There's a door drawn on the lower part of the hill. The Secret Door leads to the Cell Phone. The tunnel leads to an area with a Heart Block and more caves. The caves are alcoves so we can dodge the snowballs and the Shiny Goombas rolling on them. Hit the snowball from the alcove. Be sure to take out the Snow Spikes. The comet piece is at the top of the mountain. This opens the path to 4-2.

Paper Mario: Sticker Star -- W1-1 Warm Fuzzy Plains

Before starting our adventure, I decided explore Surfshine Harbor to the north, where I filled up my album with some nice stickers, like a Shiny Big Hammer and a Shiny Hopslipper. I then went south to 1-1 Warm Fuzzy Plains. The item block has a Shiny Hammer, so we get rid of a Worn-out Hammer sticker. We battle a couple of Goombas and get a Hopslipper as well as some coins. Getting the first strike lets you do damage without using a sticker, so try to get them! If you win a battle without taking damage, you'll get a Perfect Bonus, adding coins to your total. Peel off Bowser tape to reveal hidden areas, such as an area in a hill with a few coins.

To the right is an area with a waterfall. We go to cross the bridge when a Toad with a crease crosses it, bumps into us, and knocks out a shiny Scissors sticker. We pick it up after rearranging our album. Turns out a full album isn't always the best thing. Thankfully, there were Worn-out stickers I could easily part with. It appears Kersti has never seen a sticker like this. Just then, Bowser Jr. appears in a Clown Copter. He says he can smell a rare sticker on us. He says all rare stickers are his and that we should give it over. We have to battle him. He has 20 HP. I'm saving my shiny stickers for boss battles and this is such an occasion. My Shiny Jump takes out 15 HP, but Bowser Jr. says he can recover health and fully heals himself. My Shiny Hopslipper didn't help much. Looks like I have no choice but to use the Scissors. Three scissors appear and cut up the battle screen, shredding Bowser Jr. in the process for an instant kill. He then complains the sticker is overpowered and that we cheated. He decides to show us what he can do, and with a "NYARGLEBARGLE!", he flattens the world, picks up the bridge, crumples it up, and throws it on a nearby ledge. He flies away and we go to the left, because we can't reach the bridge. The Toads are panicking, but realize Bowser Jr.'s gone when we show up. The Toads stack and follow us. The Toads stretch and form a staircase to the crumpled bridge. The bridge goes into the album under "Scraps" and the Toads leave. Kersti announces it's time to paperize when Mario approaches the spot where the bridge was. Time stops and the world becomes a flat piece of paper. We pick up the bridge and line up the shadow, then stick it in place with (A), smoothing it down. Kersti now allows us to paperize at any time using (Y). To the right is a Heart Block.

We go further to the right and find an item block we can hit three times for three Baahammers. Peel off the Bowser tape nearby to find a secret area with a pair of real scissors. It goes into the album under "Things". Kersti's not familiar with 3D objects, so she says we should keep it in the album as souvenir. Outside the hidden area is an item block on the ground we can hit three times for three Slaphammers. There's a door drawn on the hill. The Secret Door leads to the Thumbtack. To the right, we see a sparkly star-shaped object. Kersti says it's a part of the Sticker Comet. She also says the Sticker Comet and the Royal Stickers are naturally drawn to each other, which means collecting pieces of the comet will lead to the Royal Stickers. It will also lead to more coins in battle. We approach the comet piece, but someone stops us. It's the three Goombas from before, just hiding sideways. In battle, they roll up into Paper-Cone Goombas, so jumps won't work. That explains why the area has so many hammer stickers. We use up quite a few stickers, but win. We reach the comet piece, the goal, and coins rain down. We have a short amount of time to grab them, but it's worth it, as some are worth five or ten coins. The next area opens up.

New Super Mario Bros.: 8-Bowser's Castle

It the final battle! It will take a while to get there. First, we have to platform over the lava and Podoboos to the door. There's an item in one of the blocks, and a ? Switch in another. The ? Switch rotates the room 180 degrees, so you can access the other door in the room. There are several jet engines in this room, as well as doors that you can't reach. Go to the right to the only right-side-up you can reach. It will take you to a room with a giant Thwomp. In one of the item blocks is another ? Switch that rotates the room. The ceiling and floor change to a tan color where the Thwomp will land. Go through the door on the left back into the room with the jet engines. There will be an accessible door up and to the left. Run and duck under the jet engine to reach it. You'll be in a maze with more Thwomps and Dry Bones. The first Star Coin will be up and over to the left. Make your way down the maze. There will be brick blocks over some spikes. One of them has an item. The ? Switch is in a brick block over the stairs. With the room rotated, go up, and go quickly under a Thwomp to reach the door. It will take you back to the room with the engines. Go as far left as you can and hit a brick block for a ? Switch. This one makes a platform appear so you can reach a door to the left. The door takes you to a split room. The low path has the second Star Coin. The top path has the door to the final area before the boss door. This room also has lava. The midpoint is here. In this area, the first part has a chime maze. You'll come across paths that will either buzz or chime when you make it to the end. If you hear a buzz, you'll have to do that area again. The correct paths are the low path, the upper path, then the middle path. Afterwards, you'll find the third Star Coin blocked by brick blocks. Break the brick blocks as Super Mario. Get on the next platform, then run to the left and duck to get it. The boss door is nearby. We see Bowser Jr. next to Bowser's bones and a giant cauldron. Peach is high above on a platform. Bowser Jr. throws the bones into the cauldron and it explodes, revealing a flesh-and-blood Bowser. We have to battle them both.Jr. is wearing his mask for this battle. I recommend having two Fire Flowers or reaching the switch as soon as possible. Once you defeat them, Peach floats down, says "Thank you!" and kisses Mario's ear.
The credits roll, showing us pictures of levels we've completed. After that, we see Bowser Jr dragging  his father. He squawks at us. We save our game and see a new background, which says "Select a File: [L] + [R] + (A)= Luigi's silhouette. While on the file select screen, if you hold [L], [R] and select the file with (A), you'll hear Luigi and be able to play as him.
That's all for this game! I had a great time playing it and we'll dive into Mario's latest adventure next!

New Super Mario Bros.: 8-Fort 2

This Fort has snake platforms. It will take us past fire bars and spikes. At one point, there will be spikes on the ceiling and floor. Once you leave that area, quickly move to the very front of the platform, as it is going to rise up. You'll go through another area with spiked ceiling and floor. The first Star Coin will be in an alcove here. The midpoint is at the stone ledge on the left side. A small spike ball will appear and start rolling on the platform until it doubles back. There are Red Coins to get in this area. The platform will rise up to an area with fire bars. The second Star Coin will be nearby. When the platform comes out on the right side, hop back on, but be aware that another small spike ball is heading your way. Jump over it and get the third Star Coin. The platform will soon go straight up, so stay at the very front. It will take you to boss door. Bowser Jr. is wearing his mask and this battle takes place on a small platform in the lava. Defeat him and a bridge to Bowser's Castle appears. He takes Peach there.
