The story begins with the picture of an Island.
"This is mysterious Vibe Island. It is a land not far from the Mushroom Kingdom, a land rarely spoken of... for Vibe Island is said to hold great power. Bowser heard of it and built a summer villa there... Hearing of an item called the Vibe Scepter, his mind turned to Mario..."
One of Bowser's minions announces that they have found the Vibe Scepter and presents it to him. Bowser plans to get his revenge. They decide to test the Vibe Scepter by having a Goomba take it to the Mushroom Kingdom and wave it around to cause chaos. The plan is successful and Bowser's troops storm the castle, taking Mario, Luigi, and some Toads captive. They are taken to Vibe Island and locked up. Bowser is pleased with the power of the Vibe Scepter and wonders what its limits are. The Goomba with the scepter is summoned and it walks in a zig-zag. It seems pretty happy. It then starts waving the Vibe Scepter around in Bowser's throne room, which causes panic. All of the minion in the room are extremely happy, angry, or sad. Bowser is feeling happy.
Meanwhile, in the Mushroom Kingdom, Peach returns from her walk with Toadsworth and a Toad. There's still pandemonium in the castle. They enter the castle and see that the Toads in the castle are behaving the same way as Bowser's minion in the throne room. There's a note posted in the wall, saying, "Gwahahaha! You bratty mushroom losers! This time I've captured Mario!!! Who will save you now? If you want him, come get him! GWAHAHAHA! Bowser" Peach gets made and takes off. Toadsworth follows her after telling one of the calm Toads to calm everyone else down. At this time, you can control the Toad with the stylus. Block the other Toads from moving to calm them down. I calmed down four. Toadsworth finds Peach outside the castle and tries to talk her out of leaving. She says she'll save Mario herself. Toadsworth relents, saying she is quite capable. He doesn't want her going alone, so he hands her a special umbrella. It talks, saying its name is Perry and it can help her along her journey. Peach asks if Perry can help her beat up bad guys. Perry is thrilled to be asked. He also knows about Vibe Island. Peach travels to Vibe Island to start her journey.
Super Princess Peach is a 2D platformer with puzzles. You'll need to use Peach's emotions to reach new places, solve puzzles, and defeat enemies. It's a forgiving platformer with hearts instead of lives. It's an interesting reversal of roles and one of the few games where Peach is playable. Let's save Mario!
