Mario and Luigi: Dream Team -- Part 27: Pi'illo Fight!

The bros have just defeated Bowser in the dream world, weakening Antasma's power. It's now time to deal with the Bat King. In the center of the room, Antasma carries Bowser. Dreambert says that he’ll makes sure Antasma will never return. Antasma says that won’t happen, because he’s teamed up with Bowser. Bowser slams him to the ground, saying he doesn’t work well with others. Bowser says he was using Antasma, while Antasma thought he was using Bowser. Antasma can’t believe the betrayal. Bowser says the castle, the Dream Stone, and Peach are all his. Speaking of Peach, where is she? A Paratroopa drops in, carrying her. She calls to the bros. Bowser’s done with Antasma, so he uses the Dream Stone to reach the top. Dreambert pities Antasma. Antasma says his pity should be for Bowser, when he deals with him. But first, he’s going to deal with Dreambert. The two battle in the air. Antasma opens a portal, which he can now do at any time, due to his wish from the Dream Stone. He will go to the dream world, where he will be at full strength. Dreambert follows him and the portal closes before the bros can reach it. Soon after, the portal reopens and Dreambert is knocked out of the dream world. He says Antasma has grown stronger. He begs the bros to save the island and the Dream Stone. Mario jumps into the portal alone.

Antasma summons orbs called Antasmunchies that surround him. He’ll eat these to power up. Although in bad shape, Dreambert appears so he can help Mario. He calls Dreamy Luigi in to boost Mario’s strength. Antasma will consume some orbs to boost his stats. He’ll make copies of himself and summon dark energy. Repel it with the hammer. If it hits him, Mario may fall asleep and Antasma will chase him. Run and jump to dodge the fireballs and circles on the floor or Mario will fall and have to dodge buzz saws by tilting the 3DS. Sometimes, instead of saws, there will be Mushrooms and coins. Try to find this circle quickly to end this attack. Running will not end this attack. Antasma may absorb Dreamy Luigi if Mario uses an attack. Keep track of which orb has Luigi in it and stomp it to free him. He’ll attack Mario with lots of bats. Dreambert will heal Mario. Jump attacks do critical damage to the orbs. If Antasma eats an Antasmunchie containing Dreamy Luigi, he'll spit Dreamy Luigi up after the attack. Attack the Antasmunchies together with Antasma. If Antasma lands any attack, Mario will fall asleep. After taking enough damage, Antasma will chase Mario with spiked orbs. Jump to dodge when the orbs close in and unleash a shockwave. He’ll then hang upside down and the Antasmunchies will become spiked. Antasma is immune to damage, but the Antasmunchies are not. Antasma will heal and the Antasmunchies will attack. Antasma will flip the world upside down, making it more difficult to counter the Antasmuchies’ attack. Once the Antasmunchies have been destroyed, Antasma will stop hanging upside down. Use Luiginary Attacks and Antasma will fall in an explosion of purple stars. It was at this point that my game froze.

I tried the battle again and it froze in the exact same place. Nintendo has released a patch to resolve this and some other glitches in the game. It is available on the eShop. Search for "update" and you should find it.

Once the battle is finished, Mario and Antasma exit the dream world. Antasma swells up and explodes. Dreambert is thankful that Antasma has been defeated and says they must deal with Bowser next. Starlow tells him not to push himself, but he says he's fine now. Bowser is on top of the castle. Go through the north doorway. Goomp, Paraplonk, and Guy are at the top of a rainbow spiral ramp with some giant Bob-ombs. They're worried that the bros caught up to them so quickly. Goomp says they should defend the castle to show off their prowess and push the Bob-ombs down the ramp. Stay to one side of the ramp and dodge the smaller Bob-ombs in the alcove, or jump over them. Beware of the bouncing giant Bob-ombs. The three are surprised when the bros reach the top. They try to "get elite" and charge the bros, but the bros dodge and they run off the ramp. Take the elevator up to the top and save.

Mario and Luigi: Dream Team -- Part 26: Inside the Villain's Mind

The bros have reached the third floor of Neo Bowser Castle, but can't reach Bowser and Antasma due to some flames coming from the dream world. There are Bowser head statues here that spew flames. Side Drill past them. Go south, northeast, north using the Ball Hop, then west to reach two Dreampoints. Activate the switch so you can return freely. In the dream world of the southern Dreampoint, enter the Luiginary Work, and then hit the ! Block. Another will appear. Break the stones and cross the gap before the lava rises too high to hit the other ! Block. In the next area, you'll find the flames. Drop all the way down and walk to the right to find a constellation Work. Spring Jump up to destroy the pipes spewing flames. The flames will disappear in the real world. Take the pipe on the right to return to the portal. In the dream world of the northern Dreampoint, use the Drill Work to climb up, dodging the spiked metal plates spinning around the drill bit. In the next area, form the cone to spin the nuts and bolts, stopping some small flames. This will give you access to the pipe below. In the room with the large flames, go through the pipe on the right to reach the constellation. Spring Jump up, then spin the nuts and bolts down to destroy the pipes below. The pipe on the right will return you to the portal.

From the Dreampoint, go to the southwest. Go northwest, then east to reach the next Dreampoint, which is a Clown Car. Hit the switch to lower the gate. In the dream world, go through the pipe on the left, then use the anti-gravity Work to reach a Red Coin block. Launch from the wall and chains to collect them efficiently. This will make a ! Block appear that opens the door. Go through the pipe on the left. This will take you to the flames. Hookshot in ball form to cross the other flames. Use the Ball Hammer to smash the pipes. Go through the pipe on the left to return to the portal. Now we can reach Bowser and Antasma for the final battle. Heal and save.

Up ahead, Bowser is sleeping in a dome, with Antasma as his pillow. Starlow says they should attack while he's asleep, but the barrier deflects Luigi. Dreambert says that Antasma is absorbing the power of Bowser's dream, converting it into energy that pulses through the castle via the vines. If Antasma's link to Bowser is severed, the energy will cease to flow through the vines. Luigi suggests going into Bowser's dream world and wake him up. Dreambert will attach himself to the vines to merge Luigi's dream with Bowser's. The portal opens up.

The doorway leads to a shop Broque Monsieur runs. Walk to the left to find Bowser. He's not thrilled to see the bros in his dreams. He summons a giant steel ball to chase the bros. As they run, Bowser's face will appear, like a Luiginary Work that just laughs. Go through the pipe on the left. There's a constellation here. Form the tower and ground pound through the rocks, past the flames. Drop down and go right. Walk down the ramps to the lower right exit. There's a giant steel ball ahead. Smash it repeatedly with the Ball Hammer, then go right. Walk up the ramps and go to the left. Hover Jump to the left, hovering while waiting for the flames from the ceiling to stop. Go through the door. Hover Jump carefully, as Bowser heads will cover the platforms over the spikes. Use the tornado to clear the Bowser heads away. Smash the bricks with the Ball Hammer and go right. Hookshot up, then Spring Jump up. Go left. This will take you to a door and a Save Block. The exit to the left will take you to the portal. Fully heal and save, then open the door.

Through the door, cannons fire at the bros. Dodge the cannonballs, then Spring Jump up, through them. Drop into the cannon on the right. Up ahead, Bowser is preparing to feast. He inhales the meat and grows. He wants more, but the Paratroopa sees Mario and Luigi appear. Bowser jumps away and asks for more meat. He keeps eating until there is no more. He wants to get bigger, so he inhales everything nearby. He jumps off the wall in search of more meat. It's a pretty large fall no one thinks he'll survive, so Dreambert says to return to the real world. Antasma's power should have weakened. Or, so we thought. Bowser reappears, larger than ever. He tells the bros to give up as he fears nothing in his dreams. Kamek appears, saying he'll use his magic to make Bowser greater. Mario and Luigi shake hands, ready to team up for this fight. Luigi pulls his cap over his face and the "L" is shining again. He seems more confident. Hold the "L" to summon the Luiginoids.

Bowser says he invented transforming into a giant. His minions are ready to fight. It's showtime! The minions destroy part of the platform so there's no where to run. Start with a Hammer Uppercut. The minions will destroy more of the platform. Bowser will push Luigi to the edge. Draw scribbles to shake him off, then push him back. Bowser will charge at Luigi, so dodge to the opposite side so Bowser will fall into the lava. Watch which elbow he leads with, then dodge to the opposite side. Do not use the Hammer Chop, as the minions will destroy the platform Luigi stands on, dunking him into the lava. The minions will pull walls out of the lava. Dreambert says the grate flooring is unstable. Drill Stomp or jump to break the grate and toss Bowser into the lava. After this, Bowser will hide behind a fortress wall. Bowser will summon Magikoopas to fire an energy ball at Luigi. Counter with the hammer. He'll then send out Spear Guys. Tap them off Luigi quickly. Airships will fire rounds at Luigi. Counter with the hammer. You must dodge the attacks as you have no time to heal. The minions will bring out meat to heal Bowser. Slam the floor with good timing, when the meat starts falling, to prevent him from eating it. Bowser will slam Luigi. Slide to dodge. Luigi will grab him and spin him around into the lava. Slide in circles to boost the attack. At this point, Bowser's running out of platform, so he jumps to another. Luigi follows. Slide up to dodge Bowser's fire, then tap when Luigi swings towards Bowser to stomp him. Deal with the barrage of attacks, then throw Bowser into the lava again. He’ll look for another platform and find a circular one. Bowser will go into his shell and start spinning. Luigi will spin with his hammer. Tilt the 3DS to hit him into the lava. You may experience glitches with the 3DS's gyroscope, so keep trying. I experienced some issues, but it worked some of the time. Mushrooms will appear. Keep hitting Bowser into the lava, until he’s fallen in three times. It will then be time for the last Finishing Bros.

The battle doesn’t quite finish the way the bros thought it would. Bowser lies on the ground and Kamek asks how this could have happened. He says there is still hope as he will give Bowser tremendous power with one last spell. Other Magikoopas appear so they can give Bowser their power. Bowser becomes even larger and is fully healed. He’ll send out a giant fireball at Luigi. Tap the moving strike zone repeatedly to hammer it back. This will knock Bowser into the lava, making him dizzy. It’s time for a new finishing move: Star Driver. Launch into the air and Dreambert will help by enlarging the star. Tilt the 3DS to dodge the fireballs. If you miss, Bowser will try to stomp Luigi. Slide up repeatedly to flip Bowser back into the lava and try again. When Star Driver connects, Dreamy Bowser is done for. Luigi returns to normal size.

Dreambert congratulates the bros, saying they are one with greatness. It’s time to battle Antasma, so they must return to the real world. The pipe to the right will take you to Broque Monsieur’s Shop. Go through the door to reach the portal. Bowser’s awake and Antasma is no longer a pillow. Bowser is enraged that the bros entered his dreams. They’re going upstairs. Antasma says this is the end for Dreambert and he’ll never get the Dream Stone. The energy in the vines ceases to flow and the vines turn gray. The camera block is to the north of the castle’s entrance, on the southwest island. Make any final preparations, stock up on items, and optimize your gear. Take the elevator up and save.

Mario and Luigi: Dream Team -- Part 25: The Magic of the Castle

The bros have entered Neo Bowser Castle and are dealing with Kamek scrambling the castle's passages. They've reached the second floor. On this level of the castle, Inky Piranha Plants will appear in the background. Hitting them with a Taunt Ball will knock them over so they do not ink up the screen. Go north from the elevator to an area with two Attack Pieces. Ahead is an assembly line that sends out giant Bob-ombs into the lava. Cross and walk in the gaps to reach other parts of the area. In the second assembly line, walk towards the Bob-ombs when the gaps are large to reach three alcoves. Two of the alcoves are on the north side and one is on the south side. Go north, ignoring the Attack Piece to the east.

Kamek appears here. He uses magic on the passages in the other rooms again. Antasma lets him into the dream world. The switch is behind the cage to the Clown Car, beneath the rails of an assembly line. On the east side of the room, there's a green pipe that will take you to part of the entrance. The switch will let you easily go between the entrance and the second floor. Hit the Kamek block to mark the passages. Go east.

There's an assembly line here, but the Bob-ombs aren't reaching the other side. There are Walker Guys with Chain Chomps. The Chomps will spin the Walker Guys into the bros, then attack. Counter both with hammers. They'll also charge a bro, damaging its Walker Guy. Jump to counter. Return to the previous room, as you can't do anything just yet. There's another Kamek block in the northwest corner. Use Ball Hop to reach it. Go west. There is an Attack Piece as well as a Kamek block here. Go to the north. This will take you east of the room with the Clown Car. There's an Attack Piece is here. In the north part of the area is the assembly line. Hit the switches to make sure the Bob-ombs don't fall. Hit the middle and right switches to increase the air currents. This will let one survive to roll along and hit the switch. Return to the Clown Car and enter the dream world.

There are Big Tail Goombas in this part of the dream world. It will spin around, following where Mario runs, attack all in its path with its tail. When it approaches Mario, jump to dodge. Go to the right. Go through the lone doorway. In this area, the lava starts rising. Jump up the Donut Lifts, then use the Branch Work to reach higher levels and the upper right exit. The pipe below will return you to the portal. Heal and save, then go through the door. Peach is there, but the bros are ready to attack after dealing with a fake Peach in Driftwood Shores. The bros are right: it's Kamek again. Battle time!

Kamek will create four copies from the start, then they'll all use magic to create a row of Goombas and Spinies. Run to line up with the real Kamek, then dodge all three rows, Kameks included. Kamek will create an army of Dry Bones that will either walk towards Mario or throw bones at him. Run and jump to dodge and counter. Pieces of the Dry Bones you've countered will remain after the attack. Kamek will fly around. Aim with the Circle Pad and throw the pieces with (A) to do extra damage. Mario must now battle the Dry Bones even if he uses a Taunt Ball. He'll take the time to heal himself, while the Dry Bones repeat their attack. Defeat the Dry Bones with Luiginary Attacks and Kamek will return to the foreground. Attack with your best attacks, as if you take long enough, he'll revive the Dry Bones. As before, he'll leave before you can beat him. Return to the real world.

Go to the west, then north for an Attack Piece. Return to the room with the Clown Car, then go north. Walk to the right, then go south to where the air vents are. Go south from there for the last Attack Piece. This unlocks Star Rocket, initiated by Luigi. Tilt the 3DS gently to collect small stars, then press (A) and (B) when Mario and Luigi drop in on the enemy. More stars gives you more power. Return to the north twice, to the room north of the Clown Car. Walk to the left, then straight up the middle to reach the north exit. There's a large assembly here, with four rows going. There are gaps in the line you can use to cross. Carefully cross to the other side, going either left or right to take advantage of the gaps. There are three exits to the north. The right one leads to some beans. The left one leads to items and a gate with more items. The middle one leads to Kamek, who says the bros messed up his magic. Antasma will let him into the dream world.

At level 40, the bros will rank up to Rainbow Rank, allowing them to shop at the Gold Store in Broque Madame's shop. At the shop, they will be served rose-hip tea to fully restore HP and BP, and mustache grooming. The items are expensive, but provide great effects. The bros get two bonuses to choose from each. From the room with the Clown Car, go east, then north. The assembly line is here. From left to right, the air currents need to be high, low, high, low, high, high. Go west. There are more air currents here. Raise the right current to high to open the west gate. Increase the left air current to let the Bob-ombs reach the higher track. Go west. There are three air currents here. Increase the middle air current to reach the lower track, lower it, then increase the left one to reach the higher track. Keep sending bombs to the lower track and return to the clown car room. Only the right current should be high here to lower the gate.

In the dream world, go to the left. There is a new enemy called the Antasman. They link up to heal each other. They'll walk towards Mario with gaps in between them. Stand between the gaps to dodge. They'll also summon an energy ball for Mario to hammer, but send one of them to attack Mario from the side. Counter both. They'll also follow Mario around, then fire off some magic. Dodge at the last second to make the magic hit their allies. Defeat their formations to lower their healing ability. Their magic may shrink you.

Go through the door. Activate the propellers, then go to the upper left. Push the block into the lava and drop down. Exit to the left. Activate these propellers and push the block into the lava so you can access the door on the upper left. Heal and save. Kamek's ready to fight for real now.

Kamek will create three copies and they'll be turned different colors by magic. The white one throws rings that will close in on Mario. Jump to dodge. The others can join in on this attack. The green one increases stats and the red one summons a broom. Use the Circle Pad to dodge. All of them can use Kamek's circle, triangle, square magic. Kamek will summon Thwomps Mario will have to run past. The first ones to drop will be the ones to run under. Kamek will fire magic, so jump. Luiginary Wall and Luiginary Typhoon work well. Try to get rid of the green one and white one first. Keep attacking and stay healed.

Kamek collapses, calling Bowser's name. Go through the pipe on the left. Once the bros leave, Kamek gets up, saying this isn't the end for him. He intends to help Bowser with his magic. Go north twice. Take the green pipe to the entrance of the castle. Get any last minute items from the shop. Return and take the elevator to the top floor. Dreambert senses Antasma beyond the north door, but the path is blocked by flames coming from the dream world. The only way to stop the flames is to extinguish them in the dream world. Dreambert says to look for a Dreampoint. Go to the southwest.

Mario and Luigi: Dream Team -- Part 24: Zero-Gravity Castle

After saving all the Pi'illos to be found on the island and finding the Zeekeeper, the bros are ready to deal with Bowser and Antasma. When you're ready, go east of the Mushrise Park Entrance. The Zeekeeper will appear, saying he's scouted the castle. The bros hop on his back and he flies off. Soon, they approach Neo Bowser Castle. Goomp, Paraplonk, and Guy are cleaning up the place and notice the Zeekeeper's approach. They try to guess at what it is, which makes the Zeekeeper enraged. It unleashes the Wakebeam. The barrier shatters and the castle starts falling. It lands east of Pi'illo Castle, making it easier to reach. The Zeekeeper says to head due north of their current location. He's out of shape after not firing the Wakebeam in a long time, so he's going to rest. Starlow and Dreambert are ready to take on Bowser and a Shelltop is ready to take customers at a new shop location.

Go north and you'll find Neo Bowser Castle, with a Shelltop's shop set up at its entrance. Activate the warp pipe and save the Pi'illo in the nearby pillow. This is the last one that needs to be saved. Talk to Eldream. He says the Pi'illos are forever in the bros' debt. Dreambert says they've earned a permanent place among the Pi'illos. Eldream calls the Zeekeeper, who rewards the bros with his aid in battle. Eldream gives the bros 10 Attack Pieces, unlocking the attack Zee Egg, initiated by Mario. The Zeekeeper will fly with the bros and unleash a Wakeorb. Keep the Zeekeeper in alignment with the Wakeorb using the Circle Pad. Mario and Luigi will appear and hammer the orb with their respective buttons. This will unleash a rainbow of devastation on the enemies below.

Return to Neo Bowser Castle and enter. Goomp, Paraplonk, and Guy say that Bowser's okay with the castle falling and that hanging around a purple vine growing through the fence drains fatigue away. They like the fact that it drains fatigue, but think it's suspicious and has a strange energy coming off of it. The bros interrupt their conversation and the minions prepare their special attack, Lethal Retreat, and leave. On the right is a switch that is activated by a high jump. Use the Ball Hop to activate the switch, which opens the gate. Go north. Kamek welcomes them to Neo Bowser Castle. He uses magic to mess up the paths to the other rooms. Antasma appears, telling Kamek to follow him into the dream world. Kamek says he's the only way to restore the paths to normal and that they'll never find him. Starlow says they can find Kamek in the dream world if Luigi sleeps behind the gate, but they have to open it first. There's a camera block on the southwest island. Take the northeast exit.

There are new enemies in the castle. Flaming Antasmatons will spin around in front of the bros while spewing fire. Jump to dodge. Fire Bros will throw a fireball into the air that will drop down on the next turn. Counter with the hammer. They'll also throw coins and fireballs. Jump to dodge. The switch is out of reach for the Ball Hop. Hit the Kamek block to show symbols on the map of how things are connected, meaning if you go through one hallway, which side of the path you will end up on. From the room with the gate, go north and get the Attack Piece, then go northwest. You should end up in the area that's west of the room with the gate. On an island in the lava to the southeast is another Kamek block. Side Drill to reach it. There are others in the northeast corner, the southwest corner. Go north.

Ball Hop through the rings. The platforms underneath the bros will break if they bounce on them twice, so keep moving. On the way, there will be a ring to the south. Take that path to reach a Kamek block. This reveals that you should take the southeast exit to reach the switch. Once you complete the original path, you'll reach solid footing, then find more rings that have split paths. The path to the south will take you to an Attack Piece. Go to the southeast and cross the lava using the yellow platforms, dodging the fireballs. This will take you to another Attack Piece. Spin Jump to the left to reach the switch. Return to the world with the gate. Get the Attack Piece.

It looks like Luigi will be napping on a Clown Car. Dreamy Neo Bowser Castle isn't so dreamy. There are Mechakoopas here. Hitting them will cause them to malfunction. They'll attack in lines, shooting fireballs at Mario. Dodge them by jumping or running. Any fireballs that Mario dodges will hit them. They'll also surround Mario and signal the order in which the groups will attack. They will run around Mario. Counter with the hammer. There are also Lakitu Rs and Spiny Rs.

Go through the pipe on the right. Kamek will fly off behind a wall. Go through the pipe to the right. Drop down and you'll find a Luiginary Work. Send Dreamy Luigi into the work, then press the button on the Clown Car in the real world. This allows Mario to swim around as if gravity was not there. Use the Circle Pad to steer and (A) to swim. Go through the pipe on the right. Hit the Red Coin block and collect the Red Coins to make a ! Block appear. This will give you access to a pipe on the right. Swim around the maze until you reach some bricks. Dreambert says to press (A) while sliding the Circle Pad towards the floor. Mario will push off from the floor, allowing him to leap with power. Follow the maze to the upper left corner, where the pipe is.

The chains in this room are the platforms. Go through the pipe on the right. Use the anti-gravity Work and carefully swim around the spikes. Follow the maze to the left to reach a ! Block that opens the path to the pipe and some bricks to break. The pipe on the lower left leads to the room where Kamek was. Swim down for the ! Block to open the gate. If you go into battle, the anti-gravity will have no effect. Heal and save, then go through the door. Kamek is here and says he won't fall in battle here. The battle starts.

Kamek will send out magic rings to attack Mario. Four of each will appear, but only one will attack Mario. Counter with the hammer. Circles attack from Mario's right, squares from his left, rightside-up triangles from the front, and upside-down triangles from behind. He'll make four copies of himself and they'll attack with magic. Run and jump to dodge the magic, then them. Keep an eye on the Kamek that laughs. That one is the real one. Use Luiginary Attacks. After a while, Kamek will walk away from the fight. The bros will not get experience from this fight. He says he'll escape to another dream world. Dreambert thinks something has changed in the real world, so they should return. Take the pipe on the left to the portal.

In the real world, Kamek's magic no longer affects the paths ahead. Go north, then east for an Attack Piece. Send Mini Mario through the north wall, then all the way to the right, then south for it. Return to the previous room, then go north. Stand on the Bowser symbol to make the elevator go up. Bowser is not thrilled that Mario, Luigi, and their friends are in his castle. Antasma says the castle is difficult to navigate, so the bros will give up long before reaching them. Bowser wants to conquer the world now. Antasma says they need some dream energy, this time from Bowser. His ambition and lust to conquer the world is bottomless and pure, leading to raw, powerful dream energy. Bowser agrees. Will Antasma stab him in the back while he's asleep?

Mario and Luigi: Dream Team -- Part 13: Surf, Sand, and Seahorses

The bros defeated Mount Pajamaja, which reopened the portal to the real world. Dreambert explains the situation to Starlow and Bowser and Antasma appear. Antasma says the Dream Stone has been restored. They take off to start their conquest. Starlow says that Peach is in danger and wants to go to the castle immediately. Dreambert says to wait as he remembers something. He pulls out a block from behind a rock. It's the Warp Pipe Block. Mario hits it, sending out golden warp pipes all over the island. Dreambert says they'll make traveling on the island easier. He hid the block before battling Antasma and forgot about it. He says there's on in the cave on the left and another in Pi'illo Castle. Unfortunately, new warp pipes will not activate until you use them at least once, so if you see one, use it then. Go into the cave and stand on the warp pipe. You can only choose the Pi'illo Castle Lobby for now.

You'll wind up in one of the back passages of the castle, where there's a Shelltop scrubbing floors. He's awake, so either people are waking up or the Dreambeats didn't reach him. Go up the stairs and into the lobby. Everyone else seems to be awake in the castle. A Brock says Peach and Toadsworth went to Driftwood Shore, thinking it would be safer while waiting for the bros to return. The bros leave for Driftwood Shore.

Meanwhile, at the summit of Mount Pajamaja, Bowser, his minions, and Antasma return. They're ready to conquer the world, but need ideas on what to do first. Corporal Paraplonk suggests stealing the world's food, then eating it. Sergeant Guy thinks of a fan club with rewards. Antasma says they'll need a castle, a new castle for just them as a base from which to conquer the world. Antasma wishes for the castle and one appears in the sky. It looks like a Bowser-style castle with lots of purple. Bowser likes it and wants to call it Neo Bowser Castle. Antasma wants to test out the castle, so he fires energy beams, destroying the smaller surrounding islands. The castle protects itself with a force field. It's Bowser's turn to make a wish.

People rush out of Pi'illo Castle, panicking about Neo Bowser Castle's appearance and the destruction of the surrounding islands. Starlow says they must hurry to Driftwood Shores to protect Peach. Before we do so, we open some more Warp Pipes and check in with Eldream. We've saved 26 Pi'illos so far. For saving 18, he gives a Birthday Ring. For 26, he gives Golden Wear. He'll give a gift at 37 Pi'illos next time. We also decrypt the image from the Camera Block. The fastest way there is to warp to the Dozing Sands Entrance, then head west.

Driftwood Shores has some lively, fun music. It also has Attack Pieces. Go south and a couple of Brocks will halt the bros' progress. Luigi tries to get past with no avail until one of them says Mario exudes justice and mustache. Mario and Luigi are recognized, but poor Luigi is deemed completely inconsequential. They said Peach came to the beach to escape Bowser, so they closed the beach down to keep suspicious types out. They let the bros through, saying Peach is waiting for them. Go east for now, ignoring the Attack Piece. This will take you to the shop area, where there's a warp pipe. Activate it and return. There's a building nearby with familiar architecture. A Brock employee takes them into the shop, saying Peach is waiting for them in the back of the store. It's a very nice boutique. To the left is the Silver Shop. It has new gear that can be a little expensive. When you're ready, go to the back room.

On a bed, a female Brock is getting a massage. This Brock has a French accent. She notices the bros and tells them not to tell anyone about her back therapy. As expected, she is Broque Madame and she owns the shop. She was waiting for them so she could show them something. Her masseur and masseuse are really Toadsworth and Peach. Peach really packs a punch in her massage. The two of them have been hiding since the Dream Stone was restored. They are fine, but Peach is rightly afraid of going outside with Bowser's new castle hovering about. Broque Madame says her shop isn't so safe, as Bowser could attack at any time. Toadsworth asks the bros to help find safer lodging for the princess. Broque Madame suggests the dream world, which eerily parallels a concept from somewhere else. She says there are many places on the beach where Luigi could fall asleep. Unless they're indoors, it sounds a bit risky. Broque Madame says there's a Dreampoint close to the shop. Toadsworth sends the bros to find the Dreampoint, then call for them when they find it. If you talk to Broque Madame, she'll ask the bros to enter her dreams and liven things up a bit, as she's bored. She's serious.

In Broque Madame's dreams, you'll battle with her using Luiginary Attacks, trying to get high scores. It's an endless mode challenge. She'll give you prizes for beating the rank scores.

When you're ready, leave the shop. Walk to the right to find an Attack Piece. To the right is a pillow on a tall rock. In the southeast corner, a tour group is meeting, with Popple in attendance. The tour guide mentions that there are many seahorse statues along the beach. Their purpose and their creator's identity are unknown. So little about them is known that they're one of the Seven Wonder of Pi'illo Island. The tour group gets some free time to wander before the tour continues. Popple's upset because he heard something really rare was here. He leaves. You can't cross the water using the Side Drill or Spin Jump, so go up on the rocks and send Mini Mario to the moving blue platform to the left. Hit the switch to create a bridge between the beach and the small island. The statues move and start spewing water. The tour guide ends the tour to tell everyone about the major discovery. Cross to the island and go west.

There are two Attack Pieces here and a Dreampoint nearby. Hit the orange ! Block to activate an elevating platform. From it, Spin Jump to the left, then cross to the right on the taller rocks. Hit the switch to form the bridge. Cross to the other side and you'll see the Dreampoint. It's a circular inflatable pool lounger, like an inner tube with the hole filled in. Starlow tells Luigi to take a nap while she retrieves Peach. Toadsworth entrusts her care to Mario. Starlow suggests sending her as deep into the dream world as possible. He picks her up and carries her through the portal.

Once in the dream world, Peach takes a look around, saying it's mysterious. She's surprised when she sees Dreamy Luigi, wondering how he got here. Mario explains and she understands. Mario and Luigi will scout ahead, so Peach should stay put. This may put her in a vulnerable position so close to the portal. Dreambert offers to keep her company, but she politely declines as there isn't any danger in the area... yet. To the right is an Attack Piece next to a blue pipe. It leads to Broque Madame, running another shop. Return to where Peach is and go left.

Aside from something blowing bubbles, there's nothing here, not even another path. Check out the bubble blower and Mario pulls it out. Press (A) repeatedly. What emerges from the sand is a coiled seahorse. It recognizes Mario and says it's been waiting for him. The seahorse knows what goes on in the real world, as it's a Seadring, a dream genie. His name is Seadric and the statues in the real world are modeled after him. He says this part of the dream world is small, but doesn't have enemies. Peach walks in because she got a little scared. She asks if the place will be safe and Dreambert voices his concerns over the proximity to the portal. Seadric says that a Dream Egg would expand the dream world, as there isn't much more to this part of the dream world. Dream Eggs hold more dreams. Seadric lays them, but it takes about 6 months for him to do so. For a quick fix, his brothers could help out. The bros can reach his brothers and sister by using other Driftwood Shore Dreampoints. He alerts his siblings that Mario and Luigi will be over to pick up a Dream Egg from each of them. Seadric warns them his siblings can be annoying and chatty. Seadric disappears, so Peach is on her own over here. Return to the real world to find the other Dreampoints.

Mario and Luigi: Dream Team -- Part 11: Tribal Lullaby

The bros have reached the lower part of Mount Pajamaja's snowy peak. Ahead are two more giant pillows and a Mighty Gate. The bros are near the peak. Go east twice. Here snow and lava coexist. There are spikes in the way, so the Massif Bros ask the bros to Spin Jump into them. This allows them to break through the spikes. Use this to clear a path to the Attack Piece and the exit to the west. Hit the switch to lower the draw bridge, then go west. Spin Jump across the gap, then hit the orange ! Block to the north. Spin Jump across the gap to the west, then follow the path to the west.

Spin Jump into the Massif Bros as before. Up ahead, a gust of wind blows through periodically. Time your Spin Jump so the wind doesn't blow the Massif Bros into the lava. Before you reach the next wind gust, Spin Jump south and around the corner to the right for the last Attack Piece. The new Bros. Attack is Dropchopper, initiated by Luigi. The chopper will hover over the bros. Tilt to move it over each bro, then have each bro jump to hold on. Steer the chopper by tilting, then line up the sight with the enemies. Press the button when prompted to drop down on the enemies. Keep going and Spin Jump into them so they can cross the lava. Hit the switch to lower the bridge. Go east.

Hit the orange ! Block to make a platform appear, allowing you to return more easily. Go east and Side Drill through the rock to open the path for Spin Jumping over an air vent. This will take the bros to the giant pillows. To the east is a bean spot, if you're interested. Luigi takes a nap on a giant pillow. Dreambert's amazed that Luigi can sleep so much. The ground is slippery in the dream world. There are new enemies called Magmads and Iceads. They can change types. Use hammer attacks on the Magmads. They will approach Mario and attack. Counter with the hammer.  They'll also surround Mario and breathe either fire or ice. If the others are hit by an attack that is the same type as them, they'll be healed. Go right. Try to go right again and a giant ice fist will block the path. An orange ! Block appears. You have 30 seconds to hit the blocks counting down from 5 to 1, but the ground is slippery and the other blocks have upside-down numbers. Have one bro take the top set of platforms while the other is on the ground. The nightmare chunk is on the other side of the fist. Once you return to the real world, go through the green pipe. This will take you back down to the base, so you can hit the switch and return to the summit more easily. For the other Mega Pi'illo, go right, then form the cone to Hover Jump over spikes. Go right, the let the air currents take the bros to the lower right corner where the nightmare chunks are.

The Mega Pi'illos Cush and Shawn do a dance, then destroy the Mighty Gate. Dreambert asks if the other Mega Pi'illos this odd. The Massif Bros think these Mega Pi'illos are the same Muscle Lords from before. Heal and save, then continue to the summit. Ahead is a sleeping creature that looks like an elephant made of bricks. The Massif Bros say it is Mammoshka, the guardian of the mountain. They decide to avoid it. The bros try to follow, but Luigi's nose twitches. He has to sneeze, which wakes up Mammoshka and turns the Massif Bros to stone. Mammoshka attacks.

There's an X on Mammoshka's head, which is its weak point. Hitting it will do critical damage. Use Bros. Attacks like Dropchopper and Bye-Bye Cannon. Mammoshka will roll a snowball into a bro. Counter with a hammer. Block Monolifts will appear, holding a helmet in ice. Some are made of rock, others have spikes. Destroy the Block Monolifts immediately. Mammoshka will get enraged and chase the bros, trying to inhale them. Jump over the air currents. Mammoshka will also throw a giant rock the bros will have to volley with their hammers at the same time, repeatedly. Sometimes, Mammoshka will chase one bro, who'll run into the other. Either jump over or onto the other bro. After Mammoshka takes enough damage, it will shed its red brick layer and reveal white bricks. The bros will chase Mammoshka and stomp when prompted, which will remove layers like matryoshka, or nested dolls. Underneath, Mammoshka is fuzzy and will be defeated when attacked in this state.

The Massif Bros drop in, saying the guys at the peak were evil looking. Since they've reached the peak, the tour is over. Walk up, then Spin Jump in the air current to reach the top of the summit. Bowser, Antasma, Kamek, Sergeant Guy, Corporal Paraplonk, and Private Goomp are there, admiring the Dream Stone. Antasma is going to use it to realize his dreams. He changes into his true form, something he can only do in the real world. To activate the Dream Stone, they must gather some energy for it so it will grant their wishes. Antasma wants to conquer the world, instead of not screeching, as Bowser suggested. Bowser says he'd better change his wish, as that is what Bowser is doing. Antasma will give Bowser the world as long as he has the freedom to spread his wings and do whatever he wants. Bowser's fine with this. The bros show up, and Bowser can't remember Luigi's name. Starlow wants Bowser to hand over the Dream Stone and Dreambert will return Antasma to the dream world. Antasma says they should get the energy for the Dream Stone and deal with the bros later. Private Goomp tells the bros to listen to something and turns on the speakers. Antasma says all things must sleep. Dreambert thinks the music might be the Dreambeats, which makes anyone who hears them fall asleep. This include Sergeant Guy, Corporal Paraplonk, Private Goomp, and Kamek. Bowser's covering his ears, Starlow is unaffected, as well as Dreambert and Antasma. The bros are nodding off. Starlow smacks into Mario, waking up, but Luigi is easily lured by the music. Dreambert suggests retreating and leaving the Dream Stone for now. Dreambert can handle Antasma, but not Bowser if Mario falls asleep. Everyone runs off, except Luigi, who sleep runs.

Everyone runs to the left. Luigi falls over and rolls into a ball that rolls down the ramp. He's asleep at the bottom of the hill, despite Starlow trying to wake him up. Dreambert says there's a Dreampoint nearby. He says to let Luigi sleep and everyone else escapes into the dream world, where the Dreambeats can't reach them. Mario and Starlow set Luigi up to sleep on the Dreampoint, while the Dreambeats echo over Pi'illo Island. Everyone on the island hears it and falls asleep, releasing Dream Orbs. They flow into the Dream Stone, which will allow Antasma and Bowser to absorb energy from anyone who's sleeping. They are the Dream Stone's power source, as Antasma explains. Bowser can understand some of what he's saying, even with his ears covered. They'll be able to use the Dream Stone soon. Meanwhile, Mario is safe in the dream world.

Mario and Luigi: Dream Team -- Part 7: Luigi's Big Dream

Just beyond the top of the sand flow, Britta calls for help. Torkscrew is dragging her around. She finally breaks free, only to be eaten. The bros confront Torkscrew. Use Bros. Attacks. Torkscrew will drill underground and pop up underneath the bros. Jump to dodge. If he does this attack repeatedly, a bro may land on his drill and the other bro will chase Torkscrew, collecting coins and jumping over enemies. He'll also fly in the air and drop down on a bro. Counter with the hammer. He'll lie on his back and won't attack. Sometimes, he'll chase a bro into the background and try to ram him with his drill. Jump to dodge or counter. In the foreground, enemies will attack the remaining bro, so keep an eye on him.

Torkscrew explodes when defeated, freeing Britta. She says she was blinded by greed and there isn't treasure here. She stops talking midsentence and closes her eyes. Her Shelltop employees get her to a doctor. Starlow draws the bros' attention to the stairs ahead, saying the Dream Stone should be there. Go west to find another pillow. To the east, you'll find a new enemy called the Caccac. If you attack it, it will wake up and attack, attacking based on how many times it has been attacked before it attacks. Go up the stairs when you're ready.

There's an altar at the top of the stairs, but no one can find the Dream Stone. Bowser drops in with Antasma, telling them they're too late, as Bowser already has it. Antasma says the Dream Stone will have to suffice as he couldn't steal the Dark Stone. Bowser and Antasma fly off. Dreambert wants to chase them, but Starlow says they have no idea where the two went. They need to find clues to figure out their location. The altar starts to sparkle and Dreambert thinks it could be a Dreampoint, a place where dreamers can be one with their dreams. There are many points like this on Pi'illo Island. Dreambert thinks that sleeping on the Dreampoint may help them discover the whereabouts of the Dream Stone. Luigi goes to sleep and the portal sparkles.

The bros must look for clues in the dream world. There are Attack Pieces here. Go right to where the Drill Works are. Go right and you'll see a creature that looks like the Dream Stone. It's the Dream Stone's spirit and it's sleeping. The Dream Stone used to be here in the dream world. Dreambert wants to ask it where it is in the real world and it wakes up. It wonders who the three are and won't tell them where the Dream Stone is. Because the Dream Stone was moved, its spirit is drowsy and cranky, and needs to sleep to stay moisturized. It's not going to talk, even if the bros follow it. It goes down past some rock and rests near a constellation. Go right.

There are two Attack Pieces in the room, near the top. Use the Drill Works to get them, then go right near the middle for another. Go right at the top of the area. Follow the path down and to the right. There's a constellation ahead. The Luigi tower will form and knock away all enemies in your path. Go right. Drop down and walk to the right. Jump up the tiny platforms and lean on a switch on the right. This will make a crystal platform rise. Higher up is a blue switch on the left that raises a blue crystal platform. Use these to reach the pipe on the left. Hit the diagonal switches in this area, as well. Go left. Use the tower to get rid of more enemies and reach coins, then go left.

The Dream Stone spirit is here. It still doesn't want to talk and goes down another level. Take the green pipe down to an area where Britta runs a shop. The pipe at ground level to the left will take you to where the portal is. The right pipe will take you to an area with some rocks. From Britta's shop, go back to where you came from, then go left, following the green arrow. There's an Attack Piece here. Go left.

There are more Drill Works here and there are spikes below. There are two Attack Pieces here, one near the spikes. Go left and you'll see another constellation. Dreambert says the bros might be able to break the stones here. In tower form, the Luiginoids can jump in midair by pressing (B) to ground pound, which breaks the stones. Walk to the right and ground pound. Break through the rocks, go to the left, break those rocks, then walk to the right after pushing the crate with the tower and go down a pipe. There are two Attack Pieces here. Go right. Form the tower and try to push the crate. You can't fit, so Dreambert shows Mario how to compress the tower with (A). To return the tower to normal, press (A) again, and the tower will spring up, executing a Spring Jump. Spring up and go right. Take the pipe to the right in the next area.

That pipe will take you to the right pipe near Britta's shop. The Attack Pieces will give you the Luiginary Attack Luiginary Stack. Have Mario stack rows of Luiginoids by moving the Circle Pad to make sure the stack balances when it lands and pressing (B), then press (B) before landing on the enemy. Press (A) when Mario lands. Take the time to practice it. Heal and save, then break the rocks to reach the Dream Stone. Even with a relentless pursuit, the Dream Stone's spirit's still not talking. This upsets Dreambert. The spirit flies straight up. Follow it and bump into it with a Spring Jump. The spirit finds the bros annoying. And annoying a spirit has consequences. It turns the Drilldigger on, assembling the drills the bros have seen in the background into a giant, mechanical monster. Luigi's cowering in his sleep. The Drillldigger knocks away the Luiginoids and Dreamy Luigi's cowering as well. He's also reacting to something. Dreambert tells Starlow to touch Luigi's head. The "L" on his hat is shining. This starts a reaction like the one in Dream's Deep. Luiginoids swirl to Dreamy Luigi, thinking that he has to help his brother, who's in danger. Rotate the 3DS. The Luiginoids form a giant Luigi, about the same size as the Drilldigger. Luigi freaks out and the Drilldigger is not pleased to be challenged. Mario sits on Luigi's cap and the battle starts.

Dreambert provides instruction on giant battles. To jump, touch the Jump button, wait for the charged-up sign, then slide the stylus up the arrow. After Luigi lands the jump, slide the stylus up the arrow again for another jump. Slide up to jump and dodge Drilldigger's tornados, one of which will remain in the background. To use the hammer, touch the Hammer button, then the Hammer Chop button to hammer the enemy into the background, then slide quickly in the arrow's direction. Slide in the direction of the arrow to counter with the hammer. Attack with the hammer when its drills are out on top. It will also fly in the air and fire off drill bits. Counter with the hammer. It will shoot an energy ball at Luigi. Dreambert says working with Mario will restore health. Touch the Bros. Attack button, then the Rhythm Mushroom button, and Mario will rhythmically throw Mushrooms. Tap the screen with the same rhythm to eat them. Bros. Attacks can't be used consecutively so Mario can rest. The next time it uses the energy ball attack, Luigi will counter with a hammer. Tap the screen repeatedly to repel the attack. It will surround itself with a tornado. Both hammer and jump attacks are effective. When Drilldigger is low on health, use Finishing Bros. Touch the Finishing Bros. button, which is a star. Slide up to jump, then Mario will get on a star. Tilt the 3DS so that the star cursor is aimed at the enemy and let the attack land. Once Drilldigger is defeated, the bros will get lots of items. Dreamy Luigi returns to normal size.

The Dream Stone spirit appears, calling Luigi the man. Finally, some praise and respect for Luigi. The spirit thought that real-world people were small fries. It finally decides to tell just Luigi, as their little secret. It mentions clouds, rocks, a cliff, meaning a mountain. Dreambert says this is Mount Pajamaja. The spirit is not pleased that Dreambert decided to eavesdrop. Dreambert says it's on the north side of Pi'illo Island. The spirit's going to sleep some more and hopes to see Luigi around. He enjoyed the fight and wants to fight giant Mario next. Go left twice to reach the portal and return to the real world. The bros and Dreambert bring Starlow up to speed and they decide to go to Mount Pajamaja, behind Pi'illo Castle. Hopefully, the bridge has been fixed.

Mario and Luigi: Dream Team -- Part 5: Nightmare Team

Eldream drilled a path in the dream world to Dream's Deep. Walk into the light and move the Circle Pad down to enter. Mario travels through a tunnel with colorful morphing Luigi faces. Luigi gets upset in his sleep. Starlow tries to call to Mario, who's been in the dream world for a while.

In the real world, Luigi and Starlow are spotted by Private Goomp, Corporal Paraplonk, Sergeant Guy, and Kamek. Starlow says they probably heard about the place instead of receiving an invitation. They confirm this, saying they brought Bowser with them. Fantastic... Goomp, Paraplonk, and Guy have been promoted to Bowser's elite personal guard. Starlow's not impressed. Bowser drops in, knocking his minions away. He asks if Peach is gone, because kidnapping her is his thing and he's the only one who gets to do that. He calls it treason. Starlow bluffs by saying Mario escorted Peach to safety, so Bowser should take a nap. Bowser disagrees, as kidnapping Peach is his life's calling. He'll find her and kidnap her. He then notices the portal over Luigi's head. He says it smells of her perfume. He's not going to let Mario find Peach before he does. He jumps into the portal and Starlow can't stop him.

Mario lands in Dream's Deep and Luigi gets upset again. The place is purple and filled with moving neon images of Luigi. Dreambert says he thinks he's been here before. Dreamy Luigi isn't here and Dreambert thinks he lost his way, buy he'll return. Dreambert says Mario's priority is to find Peach. Before Mario starts walking, he hears someone say, "Big bro!" As Mario walks, the voice says things like "I'm not clumsy" and "Don't fear ghosts". These sound like Luigi's thoughts, although not his happiest. Some other thoughts are "Help big bro", "Big bro is stylish", and "I can be strong". Climb up and go right.

A thought appears, saying "I can help! Take me with you!" A neon Luigi appears, saying, "Big bro! Where's Peach?" Another Luigi appears, saying, "Big bro, please take me with you!" Another says, "Hey! Nobody mess with my bro! Big bro! I can help!" The neon Luigis leave and a giant Luigi face appears in the background. Dreambert says this is the deepest part of Luigi's dreams. Luigi's emotions are swirling around here as neon Luigis. Dreambert says that, in a sense, this place is Dreamy Luigi himself. The Dreamy Luigi Mario's met may be here, but they should go ahead, as there's no use in looking for him. Keep going. To get some coins, jump on the purple ledge and go to the left. This will take you to a lower part of the area. To leave, go to the right on the solid purple ground.

A neon Luigi will follow you, but will disappear if Mario looks at him. More will follow until the giant Luigi face appears, saying to wait and that it's probably dangerous ahead. Mario may not be able to come back. To leave, jump towards the light ahead. There's a portal ahead, but he doesn't know what's beyond it. Peach calls for help from the portal. Luigi says it's Mario's choice and he'll follow him. They're all here for him, always. Go towards the light if you're not ready and want to heal.

Mario returns to Dreamy Mushrise Park, where Boss Brickle has opened a shop. Dreamy Luigi appears. He says he was behind Mario the entire time. Dreambert says there is often no sense to dreams. When you're ready, jump into the portal. You'll drop down slowly so you can collect coins. At the bottom, a neon Luigi says they should go. It disappears and Dreamy Luigi appears. Go through the next portal. There is a Save Block here.

Ahead is the purple fog, still holding Peach. The bros approach and the fog turns into a bat. Dreambert says this is Antasma. Bowser growls ahead. He enters from another portal and asks if Antasma kidnapped Peach. Bowser calls Antasma a baby bat, small enough to wear as an accessory. Mario tackles Antasma, freeing Peach, and Bowser punches Antasma away. Peach wants to return to the real world and Bowser agrees, saying he'll fight Mario so he can kidnap her. In his words, "It's Kidnapping Peach II... The Bowsering!" Before Bowser can attack, Antasma flies in and sticks to his face, saying they will go to the real world. Bowser peels Antasma off. Antasma says he wanted to steal Peach's power, but changed his mind. What power does she have this time? He wants Bowser as he is stronger and evil. Antasma says he can make Bowser's wishes come true. For starters, he'll give Bowser new moves, as the bros are ready to fight. In return, he asks for Bowser's cooperation. Bowser agrees.

Antasma powers up Bowser the same way Dreamy Luigi powers up Mario. The bad guys are teaming up, which is never good. Use Luiginary Attacks. Bowser will punch Mario. Counter with the hammer. He'll also breathe fire, so move around and jump over it. The first few flames will appear in arcs and the last one in a steady stream. Antasma bats will come out and surround Bowser. Jump on Bowser to have the Luiginoids clear out the bats or use Luiginary Attacks. Some of the bats will fly over Mario and others will dive at him. Have the 3D effect on and counter with the hammer. They will also heal Bowser. Bowser will curl up into a spike ball and chase Mario. Run left and right to dodge the flames or jump over them. As he takes more damage, Bowser will attack more times before it will be Mario's turn. His spike ball attack will also include purple flames Mario can't jump over. After Bowser takes enough damage, Antasma will stop powering Bowser up, signaling the battle is over. This is a tough fight.

Antasma calls the bros "nuisances" and tells Bowser to destroy them. He screeches and Bowser breathes fire on the bros. Bowser likes the power boost and takes up Antasma on his offer. Antasma wants to go to the real world, but Bowser wants to take Peach along. Antasma says they must stick to the plan for now and they can kidnap Peach at anytime. Bowser tells Mario to not let anyone else kidnap her until he returns. Bowser and Antasma fly out of there. Eldream and the Dreambunny drop in. He notices Peach and says the bros managed to save her, but at a high cost as they are all sleeping. It's dangerous to fall asleep in a dream. Eldream will return them to the real world.

Bowser and Antasma go to the real world via the portal. Antasma has difficulty flying while carrying Bowser. Antasma is now free and Bowser has a powerful new friend. They fly off and Mario carries Peach out of the dream world. Peach thanks Mario. Starlow wants to alert Toadsworth of Peach's safe return, but Dreambert says there's no time as Antasma has returned. The Pi'illos managed to imprison him in the dream world, but he lived on. In time, his bonds weakened and he found his chance to return. His goal is the conquer the real world and sow the nightmare. Eldream says he'll go after the Dream Stone. Dreambert says the Dream Stone is in the desert of Dozing Sands. Peach tells the bros to stop Bowser and Antasma.

Boss Brickle opens a gate to the south, saying it will remain open. Starlow says Peach should be safe at the castle, but how she will reach it with the bridge out is unknown. Eldream says to visit occasionally when they save more of the Pi'illos. He'll bestow gifts to the bros. Dreambert will also give the bros gifts. Eldream will be in the maintenance hut, but since we've saved six Pi'illos, he gives the bros a Bare Hammer. He has another reward for saving a total of seven Pi'illos. There are two more Pi'illos in Mushrise Park, but we can't reach them yet. Head south to Dozing Sands.

Mario and Luigi: Dream Team -- Part 2: The Prince's Quest

Prince Dreambert has taken off, ignoring the fact that Luigi was taking a nap in his bed. Go south, up the stairs, then north. Go up more stairs and head southeast. You'll see Dreambert trying to leave the castle and bump into a Toad. He leaves. Starlow suggests picking up some gear before they leave. The area to the northeast is now open and leads to the hotel area. Some of the rooms have item blocks. There's a 1-up Mushroom on the balcony to the south. When you're ready, leave the castle and follow Dreambert.

Outside, a Brock tells the bros that Mushrise Park, to the south, is quite popular with tourists. If you follow the path to the east, you'll eventually wind up at Mount Pajamaja. You can't go very far, so turn back. The Zeekeepers say someone was rushing to the south towards Mushrise Park. Head south.

The bridge to the south is out of order, so the bros must walk softly on the temporary bridge. "Temporary bridge" does not sound good at all. It starts shaking when the bros walk on it. Luigi checks out the bridge and the bros start to cross it, when it starts falling apart. They don't make it across.

Mario lands on Luigi, making him dizzy. It's dark at the bottom of the canyon. There are new enemies called Bloatulas here. They will swing on a thread in front of one of the bros, then drop down and attack from behind or swing briefly in front of a bro, then drop down to attack from the front. Go north and you'll find another rock pillow in the ground. Mario tries to fall asleep, but no portal appears. It works just fine when Luigi sleeps. Starlow thinks that Luigi's ability to fall asleep quickly makes this happen. Dreambert confirms her theory. He says Luigi's sleep wavelength is extremely close to that of the Pi'illos'. He becomes one with the dream world and opens a portal.  He also confirms that the rock Luigi's sleeping on and others like it are Pi'illo folk. They were trapped in chunks of nightmare just like Dreambert and must be saved immediately. They can be saved the same way Mario saved Dreambert: enter the dream world and destroy the nightmare chunks. Dreambert wants Mario to help him free the other Pi'illos in the dream world, but Starlow says Peach is their priority. Dreambert says a Pi'illo might know where Peach is. Dreambert can't save them on his own because he can't shatter the nightmare chunks. He sent for Mario to help him. Starlow agrees to let Mario free the Pi'illos as it's their best bet to find Peach. Dreambert joins Mario and Starlow will keep an eye on Luigi.

Inside the dream world, Dreamy Luigi reappears. Dreambert senses a higher plane of consciousness from him. A new enemy called the Storch appears in the dream world. They will throw fireballs at Mario. To the left, the ceiling crashes down and breaks the floor. The bros fall and a Pi'illo symbol is revealed. In the real world Starlow is worried and seeing Luigi sleep annoys her. She thinks Peach would be in the real world if he hadn't fallen asleep. She tugs on his mustache. This makes the Pi'illo symbol and Dreamy Luigi start to glow. Dreambert says the pillar the symbol is on is reacting to Dreamy Luigi's aura and Luigi's imagination -Luigination- is bridging the dream world and the real world. The bridging elements will be called Luiginary Works. Luigi can free his mind and activate the Luiginary Works with [R]. Luigi will then jump into the Works with (B) to establish a profound connection between worlds and become one with the pillar. Starlow pulls Luigi's mustache again and it moves the branch that represents Luigi's mustache in the real world. Dreambert thinks this could be used to reach higher heights. Mario will hold onto the branch, then pull and release. To get out of the Work, press [R] again, then (B). If you leave him in a work, he'll be in the work in the next area if you move on.

Go left and you'll find an area with four Works, all of which will be active when Luigi enters them. Go to the left, using the branches to reach new areas. There are some moving platforms ahead. Use the Works and the platforms to reach an orange ! Block to open the path ahead. This leads to a nightmare chunk. Luigi automatically exits the Works. Dreambert says there is a Pi'illo person in the nightmare chunks in the room. Break the chunks. The number of chunks that need to be broken will appear in the lower right corner. Use the branches to sling Mario into the other chunks. Once you break all of them, the Pi'illo person will be freed. This one is thankful for being saved and surprised to see Dreambert. Dreambert thanks Mario and says many more Pi'illo folk remain trapped. All the Pi'illo person can do for the bros now is to return them to the real world.

In the real world, Luigi wakes up and the pillow turns into the Pi'illo person. Breaking the nightmare chunks returns them to normal. Dreambert will keep track of the Pi'illos the bros save. This Pi'illo person has not seen Peach, but thinks the Pi'illo elder, Eldream, might be able to help. He knows all about the dream world. Eldream is to the south of here, Mushrise Park. The Pi'illo person lowers the wall so the bros can ascend. If you wish to enter the dream world, talk to the Pi'illo person.

There are more Bloatulas ahead. There's also another petrified Pi'illo. They can't go any further until they free the Pi'illo. Enter the dream world and Dreambert senses nightmare chunks. The bros must find them and destroy them. To the left, the ground shakes and the paths are sealed off. There are blocks in the background and something swirling around a familiar silhouette. Dreambert says the swirling tornado there is giving him a Luiginary vibe. Enter the Work and Luigi will become one with the tornado. Luigi starts talking in his sleep. He tells Starlow to scratch his nose. She'll humor his requests for now. Scratching his nose makes both Luigi and the Luiginary Work sneeze, sending a powerful tornado from the background. This moves a block to where the bros can reach it. This Work will follow Mario around, so line up the Work and make Luigi sneeze. Hitting the orange ! Block opens up both paths.

Go to the left and send blocks to the foreground to reach all of the nightmare chunks. Jump on the blocks. Ignore the candles. The Pi'illo you save is overjoyed and returns Mario to the real world. This one hasn't seen Peach either. The Pi'illo notices the bros' foreign attire and Starlow's lack thereof. Starlow clarifies that she is wearing shoes. Starlow asks how the Pi'illo were trapped in nightmare chunks. Dreambert explains that the Pi'illo can travel between the two worlds. There were two stones on the island that granted wishes: the Dream Stone and the Dark Stone. The Dream Stone was formed of happy dreams and the Dark Stone of nightmares. The Pi'illo were tasked with their safekeeping. The Pi'illo grew lax and Antasma, the bat king, stole the Dark Stone to fulfill his own wish. The Pi'illo fought and cornered him, then tried to imprison him in the dream world. He shattered the Dark Stone, which brought doom upon the Pi'illo Kingdom. Nightmare chunks rained down all over the island, which petrified the Pi'illo. Dreambert asks the bros' help to free the Pi'illo folk so the Kingdom can rise again. They may find Peach along the way. Mario thinks Antasma kidnapped Peach. Dreambert has no idea what happened after they cornered Antasma. Starlow says they should get information from the other Pi'illos. The newly freed Pi'illo will help the bros up the high ledge. Talk to him, then bounce using (A) and (B). Go south.

Follow the path to another petrified Pi'illo. Enter the dream world and you'll see a large nightmare chunk and a large Luiginary Work. You can't reach either at this point, so keep going. Go up and right. Go right in the next room as well. This will lead to a Work below. Use it to reach some item blocks, then go left. Luigi will pop out of the Work if there is no Work in the area. Go left again to reach the large Luiginary Work. Activate the gust of wind to blow away all the blocks surrounding the nightmare chunk. Free the Pi'illo and return to the real world. This one thinks that Peach may have been taken to Dream's Deep. Dreambert did not know of its existence. Dreambert says it is the nadir, or lowest point, of the dream. He thinks he's been there before, but isn't sure. The Pi'illo says Eldream is to the south. Eldream may know how to enter Dream's Deep. Talk to him to reach the pipe or the blocks. Before you bounce, select your destination with the Circle Pad. Go up to the pipe to reach the other side of the fallen bridge.
