Mario and Luigi: Dream Team -- Part 22: Master Quest

The buildings have assembled into a robot that chases Luigi throughout Dreamy Wakeport. Dreambert notices the sea in the background, saying Luigi should drive it into the sea, then attack it, much like Bowser's battle with the Tower of Yikk. Luigi notices he's not too far from the sea, either. Dreambert says to focus. An Excellent Hammer Uppercut will send it into the water. Dreambert says to hit it repeatedly while it's in the water. When it emerges, slide the stylus down quickly and repeatedly to damage it. When it rises out of the water, slide the stylus sideways to hit it away. It will rise out of the water and fly back on land. The robot will put on some armor. Dreambert mentions breaking it. An Excellent Jump will break it. The robot will temporarily split up and the pieces will circle the core with the nightmare chunk. Knock away the pieces with the hammer. The remaining pieces will hit Luigi. If you hit away all the pieces, you can hit the core. The robot will assemble buildings into a ball. Slide up to jump on it, then tilt the 3DS to attack. Hitting the robot with an Excellent Hammer Cut now will not send it into the water. Use two to send it into the water.

When its health is below half, it will say, "EARTH-A-WAKE!" and get full-body armor. Dreambert says it will take too long to break it off piece by piece, but another attack could destroy it at once. Drill Spin works nicely. It will say, "BAD-DAMAGE! DAMAGE-BAD! BAD-STACHES! MUST DEFEAT!" A wall of buildings will appear in front of Luigi. Use Hammer Chop on them. It will throw the remaining buildings at Luigi and use some to heal. Jump or duck to dodge. It will form a hammer and attack. Duck or hit it back. Other times, you'll have to hit the hammer back from the side or above. Finish it off with Finishing Bros. This is a difficult battle.

Defeating the robot will free the nightmare chunk. Bedsmith is delighted to be free. He's also still ready to fight Antasma. He's happy to see Dreambert, in his own special way. Dreambert explains the situation and says he needs his help. Bedsmith thinks that Dreambert means to destroy Antasma with raw artistic beauty. Dreambert clarifies that he wants Bedsmith to construct the Ultibed. With all the parts, Bedsmith will construct the Ultibed in his shop in Somnom Woods. After everyone leaves, Pi'illoper has no idea what happened, but is super excited to have been a part of it.

Dreambert says Somnom Woods is east of Mushrise Park. Warp to Mushrise Park's entrance, then go due east. Send Mini Mario to hit the switch to lower the drawbridge, then go east. Bounce up the walls, then go east. Somnom Woods is darker and quieter than Mushrise Park. You'll find Bedsmith here. He starts to open up access to his shop, but the switch he needs is too high. Step on the platforms and Side Drill into the screw to make the tree trunk move aside, revealing the path ahead and some enemies. Follow Bedsmith.

There are new enemies here called Beehosses. Don't jump on them. They'll spew out bees that will fly at or over the bros. Jump over them to dodge. Do not counter. Fire does critical damage. Go northeast. Bedsmith's shop is here. The bros hand over the parts and Bedsmith takes them into the shop and closes the door, saying he must work in absolute privacy. On the outside, the bros watch Bedsmith's silhouette, which alternates between working and dancing. When he's done, he says it was a success and hands over the Ultibed. Dreambert says they should go to the dream world to find the Zeekeeper. Bedsmith says that cannot be done here. They must find a place within the woods where dream power swells. Dreambert suggests the Pi'illo Temple, somewhere in the woods. Bedsmith says there are many traps guarding the temple and that he's rooting for the bros. Go east.

There are Boomerang Bros and Lakitus here. The Lakitus will signal with flags which bro to hit with a boomerang. Counter with the hammer. There's electrified purple water ahead. Jump from platform to platform to stay out of it. Feel free to Spin Jump over it. You'll need it to reach farther platforms. Break the rock at the top of some ruins to find a pillow. In the dream world, there's a new enemy called the Spritzbloom. It'll hop around Mario, then blow poison gas at him. Hit it with the hammer when it's right in front of Mario to counter and have it blow poison in the other direction. Pelicrumps are also in the dream world. They'll fly overhead, some with eggs. Hit the egg out of their talons. They'll also throw bombs at Mario, but may hold onto them too long. In the real world, hit the ! Block to lower a gate, then go east.

A purple creature in the next area tunnels underground and leaves to the east. There's the sound of rushing air periodically. Walk to the north and you'll find a fan, which is making the noise. Spin Jump into the air current to reach new areas. Side Drill through the tunnel of thorns and get an Attack Piece nearby. Break the rocks and go southeast. Side Drill through the thorns, then Spin Jump to reach another Attack Piece. To the south is a camera block. Go north through the path on the right.

Ahead is a pillow. Dreambert says it's a Pi'illo Master. The bros need to save the Pi'illo Master to enter the temple. Walk onto the ruins in the water, then Spin Jump east. Side Drill the rocks, then walk to the east side. Walk to the north side and Spin Jump twice to the west for an Attack Piece. Stand in front of the fan to reach the pillow. On the south side of the area is a pillow under a rock.

In the dream world, walk all the way to the left to find another Luiginary Work. It's a propeller. Spin Luigi's nose to activate the propeller. Have Mario approach a wall and he'll stick to it. Mario can now climb walls. Touch Luigi's nose to stop the propeller. Also use the wind to cross larger gaps with jumps. Use these techniques to reach the nightmare chunks. Once the Pi'illo Master has been saved, he gives the bros a Somnom Stone. He says there are other Pi'illo Masters to save. Go west from the top of the ruins.

Hit the ! Block to lower the gates. There’s a pillow near the south exit. In the real world, Bandits with Golden Eggs may appear in the background. Use a Taunt Ball to bring the gold egg onto the battlefield. It will give you a some money. Side Drill into a screw to open the path ahead. There’s an Attack Piece to the right. At the top of the ruins, something stirs in the plants growing there. Three purple creatures appear, asking who the bros are. Mario says they want to go deeper into the woods. Starlow says they're on a mission and they think the bros are there to steal the treasure, called Nom Pi'illo. They disappear, saying the bros will never have Nom Pi'illo. Dreambert says they are Nommons, creatures that have lived in the woods for ages. He doesn't know what they mean by "Nom Pi'illo". He says to move on. Step onto the panel in the back, which acts as an elevator.

To the left is a warp pipe to activate. There is a pillow to the right. This one is another Pi'illo Master. The bros get another Somnom Stone. They are the keys to the temple, and the bros will need lots of them. Ahead is a talking stone tablet. It says they must insert Somnom Stones to create paths that will let them into the temple ahead. Use the two Somnom Stones to reach paths to the left and right, one at a time. Once you've placed the stones, stand on the platform and it will move along the newly created track. To the first left are enemies called Eyepi'illos. They'll approach and fire lasers or hover over the bros' heads in circles. Counter both attacks with hammers. Nom Pi'illo is here, a Pi'illo Master petrified into a pillow. Use the tubes on the west side to reach the pillow. Take the Somnom Stone and get the Attack Piece in the northwestern corner. Return to the tablet and create a new path.

The first path on the right leads to more than one area. In the second area, there are two Nommons blocking the way. Dreambert appears and they call him "Nom Pi'illo". The Nommons call pillows and Pi'illos "Nom Pi'illo". They have a pillow with them. Dreambert asks for the pillow, which they will give him, but only after the bros play with them. The bros will have to jump through rings. Each time they land on a square, the number will count down from a predetermined number. They must go through all rings before the number reaches zero. The slates they'll stand on will break after two jumps. The bros also can't stomp on any Nommon on the field. The bros will have to clear three of these challenges. Once you beat the challenges, the Nommon will hand over the pillow and an Attack Piece. In the dream world, I found the Gold Beanie and finally defeated it. Luiginary Wall works well. You get a lot of coins, some gear and 4800 experience points. Push the crates while the fan is blowing so you can reach the nightmare chunks. The Pi'illo Master says the Zeekeeper once lived in these woods.

There's a gate puzzle to the second left. You'll have to move the diamond piece into place through the area that the X piece is in, then move the circle last. There are Skipdrill Rs in the dream world. It's difficult to see where things are in the dream world due to the thick trees. There's a giant Tornado Work to clear things out. This Pi'illo Master says Antasma was just a bat living on the island, but he somehow consumed a Pi'illo's nightmare and developed a taste for dark dreams. The bad dreams he ate transformed him. In the real world, Pi'illodactyl Rs may appear in the background. Slingsniper does critical damage. The third path on the left leads to an Attack Piece and a pillow that a Nommon keeps moving. Spin Jump against the fans to reach the Attack Piece. Stand on the nearby log to reach the ledge to the southwest exit. The pillow is there. This Pi'illo Master says all the other Pi'illo Masters have been saved. Go west into the cave for an Attack Piece. There's another Attack Piece to the third right. Have Mini Mario get it.

There are more Nommon here. They still say the bros won't get Nom Pi'illo. They treat the pillows like toys. They aren't Pi'illo Masters, but the bros will save them nonetheless. Starlow plays hardball, saying the bros won't play with the Nommon if they don't give them the pillows. They agree and it's the same game as before, but the challenges are much harder. Once you complete the challenges, they'll place the pillows on logs. You can play the game any time now.

Now that you have all the pieces, go to the temple. Here, you'll find the last Attack Piece, unlocking Jet-Board Bash, initiated by Mario. Press and hold (B) to paddle, then press (A) just before attacking the enemy. Hit the nearby switch to make all available tracks appear. Go north into the area in front of the temple.

Mario and Luigi: Dream Team -- Part 21: Wakeport Buildings Assemble!

The last part of the Ultibed is somewhere in Pi’illo Castle. Go to the northeast of the room with the tracks to the hidden ancient area of the castle. Ball Hop up and go north for some items. Go south of the warp pipe to find the camera block. Go to the Battle Ring. Dreambert says winning Battle Class 1 will give the bros the Zeekeeper’s Feathers, the last part of the Ultibed. You must defeat Grobot X in under six turns. Use Bros. Attacks. The prize includes 600 coins and the Zeekeeper’s Feathers. Dreambert says if the feathers tickle someone, they’ll fall asleep instantly. The sleep is so comfortable that many people never wake up. Now that they have all the pieces of the Ultibed, they must find the Bedsmith in Wakeport. Dreambert says the master bed crafter’s name is Bedsmith. Dreambert thinks he may be trapped in a nightmare chunk or in the last place they expect him to be. Warp to Wakeport.

After decrypting the pictures, go back to where Popple is in the ruins. Heal and save before you reach him. He says they've stolen some good loot and gained some experience, so they're his lackeys now. He still likes to team up. Together, they're going to deal with Wiggler. The bros refuse and Popple says they're only going to talk. They approach Wiggler, who says they can't just walk in here like that because he's growing a garden. Popple hides behind the bros saying they'll battle him. He calls him a moth, which makes Wiggler rage. The battle starts.

Popple attacks first, pulling the flower on Wiggler's head. Enraged, Wiggler slams the ground, creating shockwaves that will reach the bros at different times. Popple will fly off, then fall to the ground. Knock him into Wiggler with the hammer. Use Bros. Attacks. Wiggler will charge one bro, then come back for the other. Popple will cling to the second bro to be targeted, making it harder to jump, so jump early. Popple will stand on the battlefield. Attacking him will make him back off and stay behind the bros. Wiggler will chase the bros and Popple. He'll attack each bro, so jump to dodge. Also beware of Popple, who'll bump the bros out of his way and into Wiggler's path. After you defeat Wiggler, Popple will fight the bros so the treasure will be his alone. He'll approach a bro and try to steal their hammer. Counter with the hammer. If he's successful, he'll attack both bros with the hammer, then throw it away so the bro can retrieve it. He'll lay out a soccer ball, a brick block, and a coin, then kick each at the bros. Kicking the brick block will break it, revealing a soccer ball or coin. Hammer everything but the coin back at him.

After the battle, Popple's seeing stars and Wiggler wonders why they were mean to him. Popple comes to his senses and realizes they were fighting over a flower garden. Wiggler is insulted that Popple would say that about his flower friends and chases him away. Popple decides to leave Pi'illo Island. Starlow's relieved Popple's out of the picture and thinks the Pi'illo collector, Pi'illoper, whom Popple was trying to rob, may know about Bedsmith. Climb onto the column in the center, then Spin Jump to the left to reach an orange ! Block. This will allow you to reach this area more easily. Walk on top of the ruins to a set of rings. The signs says to keep moving after clearing a ring, as they will fall. The platforms that appear under the bros are brittle, so keep an eye out for the next ring. They will become normal after you reach the other side. Walk along the east wall and you'll see a pillow on a pool lounger where the wall is newer. Follow the east wall back into town. Walk into the house from the wall.

Inside, a Beanbean resident wearing a mask recognizes a smell. The smell is of Pi'illo stuff. This is Pi'illoper, the foremost expert on Pi'illo culture. Before the bros can see his artifacts, he wants to see theirs. He doesn't think he'll be impressed, until Mario pulls out the Pajamaja Rock Frame. The bros show off the parts of the Ultibed. The excitement is wearing him out. He says he hasn't been this excited since he found an old pillow. He will show them his collection and opens up the entrance on the first floor. Drop down to find the green pipe uncovered. Wander down the stairs, hitting item blocks on the way. His collection is very nice. Surprisingly, Dreambert hasn't appeared, but that would probably make Pi'illoper pass out from shock. Starlow says that he has stuff seen in Pi'illo Castle and none of what he has is what they're looking for. He's in disbelief. Fortunately, he hasn't shown the bros his ultra-rare pillow. It's different than the others the bros have encountered. Dreambert appears and knocks him away, saying this pillow is Bedsmith. If they free him, he'll assemble the Ultibed. Pi'illoper freaks out even more when he sees Dreambert. Pi'illoper says they can keep the pillow. Luigi takes a nap and Pi'illoper freaks out when Mario goes through the portal.

Dreambert says Bedsmith must be trapped in a nightmare chunk. He says there's only one nightmare chunk in this part of the dream world. Go to the right to find the nightmare chunk behind a gate. Dreambert doesn't have any suggestions, so just go to the lower left twice to find the Tornado Work. Use it to blow away the green platform and blow the red ones from the background so Mario can reach a new platform. There are Attack Pieces in this part of the dream world. One is in this area. Go left. There are more Attack Pieces here. Stay on the platforms while blowing them away and Mario will swim to the incoming platforms. To get to the Attack Piece under the arch, stand on the red platform in front of the green platform, in the gap that arches over. Blow the green platform forward and you'll drop down and you can reach it. Go left.

There are new enemies here. Cocoknight Rs are like Cocoknights. Krubbishes are robotic trash cans. They will eat Cocoknight Rs and spit them up. Counter with the hammer. Sometimes, they'll spew toxic gas. Take enough damage from toxic gas and Mario will shrink, rendering him unable to use Luiginary Attacks. Run around and jump to dodge. They malfunction and explode when they take enough damage. I found the Gold Beanie again, but it got away. There's an Attack Piece in the upper right corner. Return, then go to the upper right. Get the Attack Piece in the lower right corner, then go to the upper left. Use the gravity Work to reach an Attack Piece, then go to the upper right. This will bring you back to the previous area, but you can bounce on the umbrellas to reach the Attack Piece and upper right exit.

Go up and to the left to reach a switch that opens an umbrella. Get the Attack Piece and go right. Get the Attack Piece here. Go through the pipe in the upper right corner. Form the tower and go over the crates to reach the switch. Hit the bombs into the crates to uncover the pipes. The left pipe leads to the last Attack Piece. This unlocks the Luiginary Attack Luiginary Wall. Hit Luigi into enemies repeatedly, like a game of pinball. Move around with the Circle Pad to change Luigi's angle. The pipe on the right takes you to an area with lots of closed umbrellas. Go through the lower pipe on the left. There are switches here that will open the umbrellas in the previous area. Cross the spikes, using the Tornado Work to move platforms to and from the background. Do the same on the upper level, lining up platforms when changing them. The orange ! Blocks rotate the large green platforms. Return and bounce from the umbrellas to reach the higher pipe on the left.

This takes you to the room with the nightmare chunk. Cross the conveyor belt and you'll see Pi'illoper. He's excited that there's a Pi'illo in the nightmare chunk. The bros announce their presence and Pi'illoper says he likes to observe the nightmare chunk. He tells the bros about it, saying the Pi'illo dwelling within is a Pi'illo unlike any other. Mario asks how to retrieve it. Pi'illoper thinks hitting the two ! Blocks nearby would do that, but would also unleash a terrible guardian. All who have tried to get to the nightmare chunk failed. He leaves. Heal and save.

Hitting the right ! Block will drench Luigi with water, then a bucket drops on his head. A voice says, "WARNING. UNAUTHORIZED. EXIT NOW. OR ELSE!" Hit the other ! Block and a security alarm goes off. Pi'illoper says they've brought about doom and the guardian approaches. A voice says, "INTRUDERS. EXPEL. EXPEL. BAD MUSTACHES. ENGAGE WRATH!" Pi'illoper leaves. The nightmare chunk is locked down and the building starts moving. It rises up and flies around, saying, "SYNCHRO OPTIMIZED... BOOT TRANS-MODE 1..." Other buildings in the area rise up towards it and assembles into a giant robot. "EARTHWAKE SYNCHED! ERADICATOR ONLINE!" It chases the bros and Luigi cowers in fear. The "L" is shining again. Hold it down and Luiginoids will swarm to Dreamy Luigi. It's time for another giant Luigi battle.

Mario and Luigi: Dream Team -- Part 9: Legendary Beef Training

The bros have entered Big Massif's dream to find him so he'll wake up. Go through the green pipe. To the right is the tour center with the Shelltop clerk. They have tours going on in the dream world. One of the current tours is the Mushroom Deep Dive. This makes Luigi excited, but it's not what the bros are looking for right now. The clerk says they can arrange any type of tour. Mario says they want to find Big Massif in the dream world. The clerk says they don't have a tour for that. He gets a phone call regarding Big Massif, the bros, and a beef-off battle. Big Massif is the one who called, saying he wants to spar with the bros. If the bros win the "Beef-Off", Big Massif will meet them. Heal and save, then talk to the clerk to call Big Massif.

Big Massif sends out his disciples first. They are Heavy Zest, Sorrow Fist, Thunder Sass, and Beef Cloud, the Hooraws! They must be fought for Hooraw Medals so they can spar with Big Massif. But first, the bros have to find them. The path to the left opens up. Go left. The Hooraws hide in pipes that are blocked off. Towards the top is an item shop. Go right twice to find a new Luiginary Work. It looks like a clock. On Luigi's face are the symbols for play, fast forward, and slow motion. These alter Mario's movement speed. Moving slowly makes jumping over spikes easier as Mario becomes more floaty and jumps higher. Go through the pipe on the left to reach an orange ! Block that opens up a gate over some of the pipes in the area with the shop. From the shop, go left.

Form the tower and hit the green switch on the left. Coins will appear and a timer will count down. Collect as many as you can. Go left on the higher level for some gear, then go left on the lower level. Form the tower past the spikes and Spring Jump up. Go through the pipe on the right to reach another orange ! Block that opens access to the other pipes. From here, heal and save, and select a pipe.

The orange pipe leads to another Clock Work. Go through the green pipe to reach a red block. This makes 8 Red Coins appear. Collect them all to make a ! Block appear, which removes some barriers. Drop down to find another Red Coin block. Drop down again to find Li'l Massif. He says he's doing high-altitude training for his heart. He wanted to drop down, but is too scared, and wouldn't do it unless he was more floaty. Hit the Red Coin block, slow Mario down, then drop down and collect the Red Coins while falling. The orange ! Block will make the path on the left open up. There are enemies here. There's an orange ! Block in the upper right corner that lets you reach an item block with Super Candy. Go left. Slow Mario down to jump over the moving spikes. Go left, ignoring the pipe. Here, you'll find Heavy Zest. The clerk arrives to referee. Mario will only have three attack turns to beat Heavy Zest and all secondary foes. Heal and save, then talk to the clerk to start the battle.

Hooraws will surround Heavy Zest. A Hermite Crab will throw a nut at Mario. Move around to dodge so the nut hits the Hooraws. Heavy Zest will try to punch you. Jump to counter. Use Luiginary Attacks, which you can now execute in Slow Mode, making it easier to gather Luiginoids. If you fail to beat all enemies in the given three turns, the clerk will fully heal everyone and the battle will continue. You may need to use both the Luiginary Ball and the Luiginary Stack to defeat him and the Hooraws. Victory gives the bros a Hooraw Medal. The clerk opens up access to the orange pipe. This will take you to an area which shows you which of the disciples you still need to defeat. Take the green pipe back to the shop area.

The yellow pipe leads to a Clock Work as well. Speed Mario up and go left at the bottom of the area. Hit the orange ! Block to make another appear. Mario has 8 seconds to reach it. This opens the path to the left. Hit the orange ! Block to make another appear. This time, you have 24 seconds to hit the other one, as you'll have to slow down Mario to jump over the spikes. To the left is Thunder Sass. The challenge here is to win while only using counters, so no attacking. Only healing items are allowed and badge effects are banned. Save, then attempt the battle. Don't bother with healing.

Mario's health is reduced at the start of the battle. The Hooraws will toss Thunder Sass in the air, then at Mario. Counter with the hammer. He'll also try to punch Mario. Counter with a jump. To skip using an item during your turn, press [R]. It takes around six or so counters to defeat him. The Hooraws will run away when he is defeated. The bros get another Hooraw Medal. The yellow pipe opens up and will take the bros to the green pipe to the shop.

The white pipe leads to Li'l Massif, who's doing sit-ups. He's strengthening his abs so they can bounce back things that fall from above. He says that if they hit the blue switch to the left, a bomb will fall from the sky. He hasn't tried it yet, but he did pile up some blocks to the right. If a bomb hits them, they will be destroyed. To do so, tilt back, then lift quickly. Form the tower and hit the switch. When the bomb approaches, regain balance to hit it into the walls. Hit the bomb when it's about halfway down the tower to hit the lower blocks. Do this repeatedly to destroy the wall. Go right to find Beef Cloud. There are no special conditions for this battle. Heal and save, then start the battle.

Beef Cloud regains health while he sleeps. You must attack before he recovers the damage you've dealt. He'll continuously heal, so execute your attacks quickly. Luiginary Attacks will slow you down. Sometimes, he won't be able to sleep, so deal some extra damage before he can start healing again. He doesn't attack. Keep attacking, regardless of whether the tour center clerk appears. Once you defeat him, take the Hooraw Medal and go through the white pipe, then return to the shop area.

Through the blue pipe, you'll find enemies. Below the rocks to the left are Ticksquawks. You can drop down to battle them or knock them away with the tower. Go right. Duck and push the block into the corner, then Spring Jump up. In that area, go right, down, then left. Collapse the tower to reach the orange ! Block to open the path to the right. Deal with the enemies and go right again. Sorrow Fist is here. The condition is to win with only Excellent hits. All non-Excellent hits will fully heal Sorrow Fist, unless they result in an Excellent attack. Heal and save, then battle.

For this battle, use the attacks you're most comfortable with. Sorrow Fist will try to punch Mario. Counter with a jump. He'll also punch a seashell at Mario. Counter with a hammer. Once you defeat him, collect the Hooraw Medal, then go through the blue pipe, then the green pipe. Big Massif will meet the bros at the tour center. Heal and save, then go to the tour center.

Big Massif does not arrive when summoned. The tour center clerk starts laughing. Dreambert asks what's so funny and the tour center clerk reveals himself to be Big Massif. He found the whole disguise thing hilarious. Dreambert asks him to wake up so the bros can climb Mount Pajamaja. Big Massif says he's staying to battle strong enemies to pump up his muscles and mind. Dreambert says the bros will battle him, which is what Big Massif wanted. With the help of the Hooraws, he displays his physical prowess. The Hooraws throw a larger rock, which pounds him into the ground. He appears on the other side of the bros. He's now ready to battle.

Big Massif will throw a column at Mario. Counter with the hammer. He'll also charge Mario, while a Hermite Crab runs behind him. Jump to dodge or just move out of the way. Be careful if you defeat all the surrounding Hooraws as he'll get angry and charge up. He'll also charge up if there aren't as many Hooraws around as he would like. The Hooraws will also pass him around, the throw him at Mario. Use the hammer to counter. Use Luiginary Attacks. When he gets low on health, the Hooraws will form a tower and he'll chase Mario. Dodge the jump attacks, then jump over the shockwaves, which move faster as the attack continues. Keep yourself healed at all times. This is a tough fight. Once you defeat Big Massif, the Hooraws are impressed. Big Massif will return to the real world. He wants a rematch someday. The bros return to the real world.

Big Massif wakes up, saying his loss to the bros was only a nightmare. He's surprised to see the bros in the real world. He turns to stone at the thought of oversleeping. To make amends, the bros will get a rare tour called the Ultrabeef Ascent. The tour starts when the bros go to Mount Pajamaja.

Mario and Luigi: Dream Team -- Part 8: Sidequest Resort

Now that we know where Bowser and Antasma took the Dream Stone, we can follow them to Mount Pajamaja. Head west to where the path forks to Dozing Sands and Driftwood Shore. Someone will announce that they're taking applications for the Mount Pajamaja tour. The bros can visit the Shelltop making the announcement in Wakeport to register. They will take climbers of all skill levels, but only registered climbers are allowed on the mountain. Dreambert says Wakeport is to the west of Mushrise Park. While in Mushrise Park, talk to Eldream about the rescued Pi'illos. So far, we've saved 13. For saving seven Pi'illos, we get the Birthday Hammer and for saving 12, we get POW Gloves. If you past Mushrise Park and head north, you'll see the bridge to Pi'illo Castle has been rebuilt.

When you're ready to go to Wakeport, head west of Mushrise Park. There are stronger enemies called Hermite Crabs that hide under nuts. They'll throw out a decoy nut to confuse the bros. Memorize where they are and be aware that they move around. Go west twice, then go south.

The bros will find themselves in Wakeport, the best resort on the island. There are Attack Pieces here. One of them is in the northeast corner. Walk over to the pink Zeekeeper to the right of the fountains and talk to him to get one. One of the Toads in the middle hotel says that guests and staff here may carry Attack Pieces. There's one in this hotel. Jump from the beds, then reach the windowsill. If you go into the left hotel, climb the stairs, go outside to the left, and walk on the buildings going west, you'll reach another Attack Piece. Walk back east for more items and another Attack Piece. To the south are more Attack Pieces and some shops.

Go into the badge shop. The bros are the first two customers to come in for the badge awareness campaign. He explains that Luigi's badges control what effects will be granted and Mario's badges control how powerful those effects will be. Each bro can only hold six badges. In the southeast corner of the shopping district are a pillow and an Attack Piece you can't reach yet. In front of the badge shop, to the right of an orange Zeekeeper is a resident of Hoohoo Village. He wants to propose to his girlfriend and will give the bros lots of items in return for their help, including gear and an Attack Piece. Agree to help him and you'll get the Attack Piece and a plush Zeekeeper. Inside the gear shop, talk to the Beanbean resident in the dressing room. Tell them their outfit looks great three times, then say they look equally as gorgeous as Peach for a Super Candy. In the item shop, talk to the blue Shelltop, who wants a plush Zeekeeper. Trade it for a rare fruit. A red Yoshi in the hotel district is looking for rare fruit. He'll trade a Yoshi egg for the rare fruit. Go west to where the tour center is.

Somebody in the area is disappointed that there's no treasure here. Out of the nearby buildings comes Popple, the shadow thief. He doesn't recognize the bros, but remembers dealing with people like them. He's trying to make a fresh start of thievery on this island. He leaves and Starlow suggests finding the tour center. On the way, you'll find a Toad who wants to see a Yoshi egg. Give him the egg to receive Peach's photo. Go on top of the tour center for an Attack Piece. Go north of the tour center to find a Brock who's a huge fan of Peach. Give the Brock Peach's photo and he'll give the bos a super rare guide booklet only available to researchers, called the Book of Ruins. The Beanbean resident wearing red in the gear shop wants this. In exchange, he gives them Queen Bean's photo. Take it to the Beanbean resident hiding under the stairs in the left hotel. He gives the bros a lost camera. Go up the stairs and go outside onto the awning. Talk to the Toad, who's looking for his camera. He tells the bros that between the left fountain and the parasol, on the light-green grass, a bird buried something. The bros can have whatever it is. Dig in the lightest patch of grass to get the Pi'illo ring. Give that to the Hoohoo Villager and he proposes as a crowd gathers. She says yes. The bros get a 1-up Mushroom, a Heart Bean DX, Rally Wear, and a Sap Hammer.

Go west of the shopping district and enter the only building in the area. You'll hear a familiar "YOIKS" and Kylie Koopa will walk in. She's older than when you last saw her, which is when the bros were still babies. Instead of being an ace reporter, she's now an ace guidebook writer for the island. She doesn't recall meeting them while being a reporter as she's had many jobs. She asks them to be her assistants and she'll pay them. The first assignment is called Shot Collection. She's stationed camera blocks all over that take and save pictures. Hit the block to get the photograph. The photograph's encrypted, so the bros have to decrypt it. This involves putting the pieces together like a puzzle. Move the pieces until they lock into place. The button at the bottom of the frame will rotate the piece. Completing the puzzle will unlock new levels. Completing the puzzle within the target time, Kylie will give the bros coins and prizes. The first photo is of Starlow and a Mushroom over Mario's head. Wakeport Level 1's target time is 3 minutes. It's a simple 12-piece puzzle. I completed it in 1 minute, 10 seconds. Kylie gives the bros 100 coins. This unlocks Wakeport Level 2. Complete the puzzles at your leisure. The puzzles have greater target times with more pieces that are smaller. As you go, the picture will zoom out. There are three levels to the Wakeport shot. Kylie wants the bros to grab photos from camera blocks all over the island. Return to Wakeport to put the photos together. Go upstairs for an Attack Piece.

Go to the tour center. The bros ask to be registered for the Mount Pajamaja tour, and the clerk says it's a challenging climb. The bros show off, but Luigi still hasn't mastered catching his hammer after he throws it... the first time. The clerk's impressed, so he'll let the bros go on a core-focused tour, called Massif Vert: A Big, Bad, Brutal Mountain Tour. The tour group is meeting in the south part of town in front of the clock tower. Go south and you'll find the tour group. The tour guide is the younger Massif Bro, named Li'l Massif. He tells the tourists that climbing Mount Pajamaja is difficult. All other tourists disappear. Li'l Massif is surprised the bros stuck around. The tour gets delayed because Li'l Massif can't find his older brother, Big Massif. The tour changes to Big Massif Hunt: Extreme Beefing Wakeport Tour. The bros must find Big Massif before the Mount Pajamaja tour starts. The bros can go south from here.

This part of town holds the event stage. They're currently holding a Mad Skillathon. Go east to see the stage, then south to find some rocks on the right. Break the rocks to reach an Attack Piece. To the left is a rock covering a pillow. In the dream world, there are enemies called Cocoknights. They will rush towards Mario in a circle, surround him, then run around. Move with the circle to avoid being hurt and jump over them when the circle approaches or leaves. After saving the Pi'illo, you can talk to the Shelltop with sunglasses onstage about the Mad Skillathon. Participants show off their skills for money. He thinks the bros are comedians. He asks if they have any combo skills. Bros. Attacks will work. Use Bros. Attacks in an endless mode to see how long you can keep the combo going.

Go to the east side to find some ruins and more enemies. At level 16, the bros will rank up to Flower Rank. You can choose another bonus, but there are more bonuses to choose from. At the entrance, someone whispers to the bros. It's a Brock hiding behind the ruins. He does research on the ruins, but the monsters scared him off. As thanks, he explains some of his research. The gate to the north was designed by the Pi'illos. The key to opening the gate is in the panels in front of it. He found the words, "The Awakening Gate opens when matched symbols unite..." written on a wall. The panels have symbols that match the symbols on the ground. The Brock can't lift them, but Mario can tunnel under them and flip them into place. The gate opens when the symbols are matched. Go north.

You'll wind up in the shopping district on the island you couldn't reach. Send Mini Mario to the left to hit a switch, lowering the bridges. This will allow you to reach another Attack Piece and a pillow. In the dream world, you'll find Ticksquawks. They'll fly around in circles, then explode. Hit them with a hammer before they can explode. They'll also send out birds after their clock hand makes a full revolution. Save the Pi'illo, then walk up on the awning, then on the buildings. Have Mini Mario get the last Attack Piece. This unlocks the Bros. Attack Bye-Bye Cannon, which can be initiated by Mario. The bros will load themselves into the cannon, then multiple copies of themselves will be launched. Memorize the order of the launch, then hit each bros' button as they land on the first enemy, then hit the button of the bros as they hit the second enemy while stacked up in reverse order. Go west while still on top of the buildings to go to the other side of the ruin wall. Hit the switch to lower the wall. There's another gate and a set of panels to open it. Open the gate and save.

You'll see Big Massif lying on the ground. The bros and Starlow try to wake him up, but fail. The place sparkles like a Dreampoint. Dreambert says that Big Massif could sleep here forever, due to the Dreampoint's dream aura holding the person in the dream. Big Massif seems to be choosing to remain asleep. The bros will have to wake him up in his dream by finding him in the dream world and convincing him to wake up. This is possible if Luigi sleeps nearby, allowing him to share the dream. Luigi falls asleep and Mario jumps through the portal.
