There will be a Nintendo Direct on August 9, 7am PT, specifically about The Wonderful 101. Here it is below.

The Wonderful 101 will battle the alien invasion of the GEATHJERK invaders. The Wonderful 100 are ordinary citizens that have been granted powers by the Centinel Suits and belong to a group organized by the Centinels' Secret Service. There are 100 heroes, but only 20 are available at the start. The rest must be found.

The Wonderful 100 must find all the heroes, stop the GEATHJERK invaders, and keep the citizens of the world safe. Surround the citizens in danger in a circle to save them. Giving the citizens Wonder Energy will allow them to transform into temporary heroes.

When on a mission to battle GEATHJERK, GEATHJERK will attack from all sides. The heroes can attack directly using a Team Attack, or bond the teammates together for a Unite Morph Attack. The teammates use Wonder Energy to bond together to form a weapon. This attack is activated by drawing certain symbols on the Game Pad's Touch Screen. Drawing a circle activates Unite Hand, a straight line activates Unite Sword, a right angle (90 degrees) activates Unite Gun, and a wavy line activates Unite Whip. The symbols can also be drawn using the right control stick instead of the Touch Screen. Each attack works best in certain situations. More heroes involved in Unite Morph allows for bigger, more powerful weapons.

Unite Morph can also be used to solve puzzles. Tools that can be created include chains, ladders, and bridges. They can also transform into parts of a broken machine, making them functional again. Another Unite Morph allows the heroes to transform into a hang glider. The Unite Morph weapons can be used to solve puzzles as well.

The Wonderful Mart is a place to purchase items using the currency of O-Parts, acquired in battle. Specific Unite Morphs can only be purchased here. Custom Blocks can be purchased here to power up the heroes. Skills and healing items can also be purchased.

The stages of The Wonderful 101 are divided into missions. At the end of each mission, you are given a score of 1 to 5 based on Clear Speed, Damage Received, and Attack Combo. The highest score is Pure Platinum. For example, repeatedly using Team Attack will allow the heroes to stack and cling to enemies, in a Climb Attack. If enough heroes cling to the enemy, they can stop it from moving. It is easier to use a Unite Morph on an immobile enemy. Unite Morphs move more slowly, leaving the heroes more vulnerable and give the enemy more opportunities to dodge attacks. Multi-Unite Morph allows you to activate two to five Unite Morphs at once. Multi-Unite Morph is great for when the heroes are surrounded by enemies. The heroes will learn more Unite Morph skills as they go along, allowing for combos in battle.

The Wonderful 101 will be released on September 15.
