This is a mission exclusive to the N64.
This is a simple mission, which requires the use of the cannons. We made our way partly up the mountain, taking damage from the Chomp and a metal ball. Mario climbed in the highest cannon on the mountain, aimed just above the tree on the island, and fired the cannon. We landed on the floating island and hit the yellow item block for a Star.
Star Get #3, 8 Coins, 4 Lives
After exiting the painting, we get another message: "You've recovered three Power Stars! Now you can open any door with a 3 on its Star. You can come and go from the open courses as you please. The enemies ahead are even meaner, so be careful!"
